Earth Day 2023

The Jingle Belles are celebrating Earth Day 2023 by upcycling, re-using and altering to make projects. It isn't one of my strong suits but I try to make at east one for this special challenge.

First up is a saved store bought card I received and it was just so adorable I couldn't throw it out.

And here is how I upcycled it.

I made a polaroid selfie card, for the frame I used some photo paper and cut it with spellbinders original square and rectangle dies. Added a die cut sentiment from Impression Obsession and using foam strips popped the polaroid up on the base.

Closer look at what make me giggle.

Finished the inside with a scrap of patterned paper and a sentiment from Impression Obsession.

When Earth Day Meets Rudolph Days.....

Hello crafty peeps, it's time for the April Rudolph Days, wow I know what you are thinking....is it the 30th already, no it isn't I just managed to have some time on Earth Day to make a card from a card "early".

I save all my store bought cards as I know there are challenges out there around Earth day to do recycling/upcycling and what better way to use a gorgeous wintery scene. I loved the gold and whte of the original card so kept with the theme, I used the Stampin'up ovals as they are the largest of my oval sets. You would wonder why you need 4 sets, but they are all so different. The white layer is embossed with the Gently Falling embossing folder again from Stampin'up (it's my fav.) layered it on gold metallic posterboard. (dollar tree) It was so pretty I decided to omit a sentiment.

A close up of the wintery scene (very much like April 21st 2021 here in SWO)

Wow look I even heat embossed the sentiment!! The layer behind the sentiment is also from the same greeting card, I trimmed it down and added it as the gold layer behind the sentiment.
The wood mount stamp is from Impression Obsession Inc. Lindsey Ostrom

Thanks for stopping by today, and remember I'm early so there is still 5 days to make your card for Rudolph Days.

Another Very Vintage Christmas for the Jingle Belles

In my stash of pre-used Christmas cards I saw this beautiful image of three birds and knew I really wanted to recycle it into a "new" card, I started with a 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 square base layered it with blue and a snowflake patterned paper. I cut the image with an EC stitched circle  I cut two large intertwined circles (also EC designs) glued one down and added the image then attached the second intertwined clrcle on top.

Who doesn't love chickadees? I love when they come to the feeder in the winter.
I added some red glitter enamel dots (Eyelet outlet) on the circle.

closer look at the enamel dot and how I trimmed the bird's tail to go outside the circle.

Finished inside.

Very Vintage Christmas.......

Still ahead of the game this week, the Jingle Belles Rock challenge doesn't end until Wednesday!!! I do have a few, hmm maybe quite a few vintage "old" stamps but I saw this pre-used card in my stash and thought I can recycle this into a lovely card, it's such a shame these beautiful store bought cards go to waste.

I cut the image with EC stitched circles and I cut the sentiment with a rectangle when I looked at it I though wow a snow globe!!  The background is falling softly Stampin'up embossing folder and I elevated the snow globe with some foam.

This is a close up of the image, check out the sparkle.

I haven't finished the inside yet as the sentiment I want to use is at home.
