And a One and a Two and a Three.........

Challenge #455 at Shopping Our Stash is.......Musical Notes, we want to see musical themed projects. Not many of my friends, followers and family will get the header, if you remember let me know the band leader's name.  I did have fun with this card first I googled music cards and it didn't have a link to it but I pretty well cased it. Getting towards the end of September I packed up things that I figured I wouldn't need, it will only be a few more weeks until I close for the winter. Even after I'm done I will be making several trips to bring all my crafting supplies and things from the pantry cupboard home, next where do I find homes.

  • This was an easy card to make (with the exception of the planning of circles)  Since I was embossing the white layer (a cuttlebug dot folder eorn old) I wanted to stablize it by backing it with black, I think B&W is just classy. the music layer is from Stamp'in up and I have had it a few years. Since I am not versed in "music"  say the "line of notes" is elevated with some clear dots. The small music notes are from Die-namics.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts (2003)

  • I cut 2 of the music dies with heavy 100 pound cardstock and glued them together and added some clear dots to elevate it,

I found this very ancient wood mount stamp from the Artful Stamper that was in London Ontario, they even had a store at the Galleria mall and I was know to frequent it often.  I chose the sentiment as it is for a very, very good friend.  I don't often use washi tape but I found a small roll in my stash and it seemed fitting to go along with the music die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Music Notes the rest of the Design Team have made, you will find them HERE.

It's Raining Cats and Dogs at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Challenge #379 at Shopping Our Stash is Raining Cats and Dogs translation ~~ we want to see Cats, Dogs or Rain would be cool to use all three, but I didn't as I was short on time this week. I did make two cards. Here is my first card using a Katzelkraft Cat.

This is as clean and simple as you will get from me. The music background stamp is from Stampin'up the Happy Birthday is unmarked and the cat singing is from Katzelkraft. I added paper glaze to the music noted.

I used (for the first time) an Elizabeth Craft Designs paw print die and one of the first sentiment stamps I bought many many moons ago (over 10)

On to my Second Card

It's a Katzelkraft dog,  images sent as a RAK from a friend. I've had the patterned paper for many months and although it's opened I think it might be the first time cutting into it.  I thought the cute "hound" needed a "houndstooth" background. There is paperglaze on the doggie's nose and on the bone which is popped up.

Nothing like gussying up the inside, I really wanted to use this die and cut it to use on the front and I really liked the clean look of the front without it so decided to put in inside. Another first cut for the die with the exceptions of cutting a few bones for a different challenge. The sentiment is a cling mount one from Stampendous.

I'm entering this in:

Thanks for checking in today and head over to the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge (I wonder if anyone did a trifecta?)

It's a Musical Happy Birthday!!!

Today is my Grandson's birthday he was born right after Thanksgiving day 21 years ago!!! I remember it well, I was there and it was the most fabulous experience I have ever had, and I won the guess the weight challenge. Okay enough reminiscing on to the card!!!.

Mack is very musical and can play most instruments you give him so I had to make a music related card. it's very simple, An embossing folder and a Happy Birthday music sentiment.  I used the stitched alpha dies for his name. Both the happy birthday and his name were cut twice and layered to give more dimension.

Carrying the simplicity and the musicality to the inside just a die cut guitar and a simple sentiment.

I sure hope liked it.

I am entering this in:

/Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything goes

Y is for Yodelay-ee-whooooo (music theme) at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

New challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is Y is for Yodelay-ee-whooooo or a Music theme. Boy there are lots of ways to go with this challenge and I had so many ideas but when I got an e-mail from Splitcoast Stampers for a Wednesday Tutorial I knew this was what I wanted to try and it worked very well for my grandson's birthday as he is a music fanatic.  Sadly there isn't any snark this week.

This is self explanatory, I stamped the woodgrain background stamp from Stamp'in up (retired)on crumb cake with sepia versafine ink. I followed the instructions to a "T" except I made the pick myself. The crumb cake layer was adhered to black cardstock and popped up with some fairly thick pop dots so the opening looks nice a deep.

Close up

Top Note used for the inside and used the music dies for the first time.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to drop in to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have for inspiration.
