S is for Steampunk at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Steampunk is not one of my stronger venues, but you have to step up to the plate and stare that  ball down. I gathered stock from my stash, A Tim Holtz clear set Virtual; artistry, Paper Journey by Plaid ($1.97 in a clearance store) , a gears embossing folder, a punch (found out you have to step on it to make it work)  the key is a  Marianne die/

The Car and Watch are embossed with copper, fussy cut and then popped up.
IMG_2226
Even in the close-up you can’t see the copper, or maybe it’s my eyes, things are certainly very blurry but so far I’m managing.
IMG_2227
The stamp I wanted to use for the inside was at home, brought it with me and now can finish the  inside. It reads…. Another 365 day trip around the sun.
Thanks for stopping by today head over to The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and check out the rules and the awesome cards the rest of the team have done.

Challenge #9 R is for Ribbon……

Here is your change to dig real deep and show us at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers what you can create using ribbon. I was kind of stumped as I altered a coil book using ribbons on the coils and that was the extent of my ribbon brain power, I did manage to put together a cute card.
IMG_2173
My image was a freebie from Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog, when you play one challenge you get the next challenge image free alas I didn’t get it done for that challenge but will try again. I thought her dress looked like ribbons and had planned on putting real ribbons on it but it just didn’t look right. so just added a bow to her hair and the bow of turquoise rope, i like how it frames her. The doily is from a package I bought at a yard sale for 10 cents. I used the MS doily edge punch for the white strip at the bottom.

Close up of the bow in her hair.

You can find the Lacy Sunshine images HERE they are all so cute.
I would like to enter this in the following challenges
Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog Dies and/or punches. Martha Stewart doily punch.
Thanks for stopping by today and pleas join us at the sisterhood of Snarky Stamper for the R is for Ribbon challenge, you just might win the Queen of Snark badge or maybe one of the princesses,

I know it`s Easter, I haven`t lost my mind that far but I really wanted to use this adorable image from House Mouse Designs. I have been trying to make a couple of Christmas cards every month. The flourish stamp is from Hero Arts the poinsettia is a boss cutz die, I did cut an extra petal to make it look fuller.
IMG_2091
Close up of the cute little rodent. I coloured it up with my prisma colour pencils and oms, added some white opal liquid pearls on the had and snow.
IMG_2092
A closer look at the poinsettia, I used a brad in the center for one of my embellishments. I put 11 red rhinestones on the flourish to make and even dozen for the challenge.
IMG_2093
As you can see, I still haven`t ``dug`` out the sentiment stamps for the inside of my Christmas cards. One day I will have a marathon.

Gruffies and Guests Any thing goes with an optional twist (lace)

It’s Saturday!!! Time for challenge #4 at SSoS~~~~~

Challenge #4 keeping with the alphabet theme is “F” for Fancy Fold. Take a look at The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stamper’s Blog to find more about the Fancy Fold theme, there are some ideas for different folds and where to find them. I haven’t tried a lot of the fancy folds, I’ve tackled a triangle card, a spring card, gatefold with a twist and a center step card but this Double Fold card intrigued me, I found it on Sweet as a Gumdrop blog HERE, it looks extremely difficult but it isn’t.
IMG_2031.
This card isn’t the easiest to take a picture of but the next will give you a better idea.
IMG_2032
I used a Fluffles image, hoping it gave me the feeling of Spring, oh how I want to have Spring. Alas more snow is on it’s way so the weatherman says. I used some retired dsp from Stampin’up, a sentiment from a studio G clear set. The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn designs die, and the flower was stacked and from my stash.
IMG_2034
Here is it closed, although I needed to hold it closed to take the picture, but it gives you a better look at the butterfly and flower.
Thanks for stopping by today,  I hope you will take up the challenge to make a “Fancy Fold Card” for the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers.

Paddy (St. Patrick’s Day)!!! Moving along  with the Alphabet challenges and  since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up soon. we want to see your projects celebrating the wearing of the green.
IMG_1998
I had this digi in my Sassy Studio Designs folder and knew it was just the perfect image for my P is for Paddy challenge card. I coloured with my spectrum noir and copic markers. I printed the sentiment from the web. I fussy cut the image and popped it up. she looks ready for a party!!
IMG_1999
Here is a close up, I added the rhinestones where there are buttons on her dress. the colours I used are Pear Pizzazz, not quite navy and GP white. Some retired dsp from Stampin’up.
IMG_2000
Here is the finished inside, just needs a signature and an addressed envelope. Have no idea where I bought the sentiment, possibly Michaels, but I have no idea how long ago.

Welcome to the Second Challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers

Thanks for playing along with us the past two weeks, your Anti-Valentine cards were awesome. The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers would like you to play along with us for the second challenge, continuing the Alphabet Soup theme the letter this challenge is U for unused. Easy this time, just use things you haven’t touched in at least 6 months and  we all have a lot of those items. Dies that have never cut, stamps never seen ink, paper you just had to have and hmm what about all that ribbon, now is your chance to give those items some LOVE.
Almost two years ago a friend made a card with a Cheery Lynn English tea party doily die and I had to have one. Well that being said it has sat in the drawer ever since until now. The cardstock I used has also been neglected, it is Cameo Coral, the stamp set I used is Roses in Winter and I haven’t used either since last summer, even the ribbon was in a bag hidden under the craft table. Now that you know all that here is my card.
IMG_1967
There is a lot of work cutting with the die, I made sure ever corner was cut. I used wax paper around the die to make it easier to poke all the openings out. I threaded the narrow ribbon through one set of openings
IMG_1968
The card is a 5 1/4 square card and this is the semi finished inside.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will find some time to get your crafty on and join the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers for the U is for Unused challenge. You might be crowned the Queen of Snark.

Welcome to the First Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers Challenge~~~~~A is for Anti-Valentine

It has certainly been an exciting time for the Design team, it is amazing what a “small gang” can get done in a very short time. We welcome you to join the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers in their first challenge. If you haven’t been to the blog yet hop on over and check out the FAQ, rules of the challenge and take a look at all the fabulous cards my teamies have made, they are just awesome.
IMG_1945
My image is from Floppy Latte they are closed for now but should be back soon with new “stuff”. The sentiment didn’t  show up well in the picture so here is a closer look at it.
                         IMG_1943
I found this sentiment when I googled “snarky Valentine cards” cute eh. The paper I used is a black and white pack from Bo Bunny, I coloured the image with my alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. I used the current sketch #235 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I took a liberty with it and put the sentiment at the top instead of the bottom.  Now for the inside.
IMG_1944
Another sentiment found on the web. I thought it went along with the challenge rather well. I have a person in mind to send this card to and she will get such a kick out of it.
I’m entering this in the Sketch #235 at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
Thanks for joining me today for the very first challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers. Now get your “snark” on and enter your project on the blog, you have two weeks to add it to the linky.
