The Spirit of Christmas Past ~~ A Jingle Belles Story

Finally I managed to get a card done for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge, I just love their prompts every 2 weeks although sometimes I just don't "get 'er done".  Finally I had the opportunity to have a longer stay at the lake but with the longer time you need more "stuff" I only have so many duplicates, but I remembered my tonic cutter this week. I said to myself as I was packing don't forget the vanilla cardstock, and I did, so it was improvise time.

I used my PSX 94611 wood block stamp, there was no date on it but my other PSX stamp is dated 1999.  Stamped on white with memento tuxedo black and coloured with markers. Layered on red metallic posterboard and then on a top fold white base.

Finished the inside with a scrap of the metallic posterboard and as it never occurred to me to pack sentiments it is to be finished at home.

Of course I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today and you still have until Wednesday at 6 p.m. EDT  to get a project done, (ps there is a prize)

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ November

Hello friends it's time for the November challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge as always it's Anything Goes with the option of Santa.

The holidays will soon be sneaking up on us and now is the time to get busy with those holiday cards or you will not have enough hand crafted cards for your friends and family, and yes I'm just the same, I haven't been making as many as other years so it's time to step up the pace.
For my design team card I decided to use a very old wood mount stamp from Stampa Rosa/PSX  vintage Santa, so much colouing I  took lots of breaks to get it finished.

I love this stamp but I usually only make one each holiday season. I die cut it with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched rectangle, layered it on red scalloped die cut from EC then on a gold layer cut with EC rectangle postage stamp die. For the sentiment I added a gold Noel which seemed to fit the image well.

Finished the inside with a favourite Hero Arts vertical sentiment and a couple of scraps left from the front of the cared.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog to check out the rest of the "Santa" cards that were created to inspire you to join in the challenge. Just a reminder Holiday time is sneaking up on us and if you don't have enough holiday cards to send it will be chaos in December, Now is the time to get a few more done.

Time for a NEW challenge at Happy Little Stamper's Christmas.

Hello and welcome to thee Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge for July, I'm amazed at how fast the 4th of the month rolls around. I've made my first trip to stay at the cottage for the Canada Day long weekend, I do a lot of my crafting while I'm here and I keep doubles of a lot of items,  Although my card was made at home I decided to save picture taking until I could use the lake as the back drop. So let's get on to the challenge.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes which means if it's Christmas we want to see it but there is an optional twist: GOLD.

I haven't done a lot of heat embossing in eons so this was an adventure for me, I used a PSX (long retired company) Poinsettia stamp, it is so elegant just heat embossed in gold on vanilla, and layered on a Elizabeth Craft designs scalloped rectangle die cut.

Close up of the gold embossing, not as smooth as would like but my powders might be a tad old.

Finished the inside with a gold embossed sentiment and an off-cut from the scalloped frame.

Thanks for stopping by today and Gold or not we would like to see your Christmas card in the gallery.

Days Of Old....

Days of Old is the prompt for the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock!!! it's time to make vintage cards, not only did I make a vintage card I used a vintage stamp from Stampa Rosa/PSX from 2003.

The image was stamped on Very Vanilla with Versafine Sepia, I decided to leave the background image with just the ink and colour the foliage and birds. The image was cut with Spellbinders Label 9 and flat attached to Fancy Labels 9 die cut.

close up

The Hero Arts Sentiment was stamped on to a Fancy Labels 8 die cut (it didn't cut well so relegated it to the inside)  Don't like to waste cardstock.

I'm adding this to;

Hello

I started this card several weeks ago for a friend's birthday but it wasn't going well at all and I was in a time crunch so went with plan 2 and since my flowers were purple I made it a quest to finish it for the Hop To Stop (domestic violence) at Damsel of Distress Blog.

The basket is a wood mount stamp it includes the handles, I can't remember who it belongs to as it is still at the cottage with a few odd bits of supplies. The pansies are from a PSX stamp which I dismantles a bit to fit the project. Hello is a Cuttle bug die (ages old)

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession

I'm entering this in the Hop to Stop

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Damsel of Distress blog and check out all the fabulous cards. There are prizes when you enter and you still have until October 30th to enter.

What's in Your Garden?

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge #258 How does your Garden Grow? we would like to see anything that you think is in a garden. My plan was a super cute garden scene but I seemed to have forgotten to bring it to the cottage this weekend, all was not lost I had a new to me PSX flower stamp here, it is an older stamp as PSX is no longer a company. I love PSX stamps and have a lot of them too.

Pansies are one of my favourite flowers and I have a collection of stamps too. I saw Saturday Sketch challenge and thought I can make my card work with it.

Close up of the flowers.

Blank inside as I really need to have generic cards in my stash. I had two friends that had surgery and I had nothing suitable in my card pile and no time to make any.

Shopping Our Stash #256 ~~ Let Me Take a Selfie ~~ Make a Polaroid Scene

You can thank Chris our hostess with the mostest cute ideas for challenges, who else would have thought about a polaroid scene? So the challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Let me take a selfie and we want to see your polaroid scenes. I will admit I have never made one before so I really didn't know much about them only I thought they were interesting and really cute, I know I will make more too. I really dug deep into my stash for this one too.

I love this sailboat stamp, it is a 1999 PSX stamp and I looked for it for a while before I found one too, I made my own polariod frame with a large rectangle die and a small square one. The clips have been in my stash for hmmm a long long time, even the patterned paper is over a year old.

So sad PSX is not longer in business but I sure have a lot of their stamps.

I used the scrap of patterned paper on the inside and the sentiment is a 1999 PSX stamp

Thanks for stopping by today and please join in the fun at Shopping Our Stasdon't forget to check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge.

Wow Vintage #4 for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge.

I was so excited about the Spirit of Christmas Past challenge at Jingle Belles rock I dug out all my vintage stamps well maybe not all I still have a few hidden. These three of the four stamps had never really made a card before, the one I used today is another PSX and it was used once for a Christmas Swap but never inked again. I tried something I've never done before. And here is what I did.

I stamped in versamark watermark and embossed in clear and watercoloured it with my distress markers. I hope I achieved the effect of watercolour.  The lacy layer is attached to vanilla shimmer cardstock and on a cranberry base.

Sentiment is on very vanilla to finish the inside of the card.

Thanks for joining me today to see that I'm keeping up with my Christmas Stash.

The Spirit of Christmas Past ~~ New Challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock!!

Oh my when I saw the challenge on Friday I was delighted and I headed to the craft room climbed up on my stool and rummaged through all my Vintage stamps, I can now make a whole week of cards!!! But I decided to start with one. Don't want you to OD on Christmas posts. My first card is with a stamp I really haven't used much, I think this is the first card I have made with the Father Christmas stamp from PSX, the company is no longer in business but can be found on ebay the number is K2045. I decided to bite the bullet and colour this with my copics (note to self ~ do not use very vanilla cardstock with copics) Of course after all my work I was determined to finish it.

The music sheet is from pinterest and I spritzed it with cranberry shimmer mist (SU) Santa's beard was painted with white liquid pearls mixed with a touch of water.

Finished the inside with a "top note" with my newest favourite sentiment.
