Team Cute!!

Hey everyone!! I hope you all checked out my card on the Pink By Design blog yesterday!! Today I'm back with another layout! I have had the idea for this layout in my head for soooo long and I am relieved to finally get this idea onto paper! It took for Emma @ Creative Time to have a sports theme challenge for me to get it done!

I made these pompoms using Twine and a tutorial from The Twinery. It was pretty simple to do, but used quite a bit of twine. If you have the spools it's not a big deal, but I only had a sample pack of the pink.

The megaphone is cut from Twinkle Toes (love this adorable cart...). The original cut said "Cheer!" on it, but I used the hide feature on my gypsy to hide that. I used the font on Birthday Bash to add my own "Team Cute!" onto the megaphone. I also used Martha Stewart glitter glue for Hello Kitty's nose since I hate playing with tiny little cuts....

The 'B' was cut from Birthday Bash also, and the tickets are stamps from the Pink By Design Just the Ticket set and Big Thoughts. I also used various sentiments from the All Girl set to outline the white mat in the background so it wasn't so plain.

I hope you love this layout as much as I do!! Tomorrow I have another Pink By Design post, so make sure to come visit again!!

80s Blog Hop!!!

First off HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Emily!!! I hope you have a day as amazing as you are!!!!!! Thanks for letting me be a part of the celebration! :) Second, welcome to Emily's Back to the 80 Birthday Blog Hop!! If you are coming here from Tanya's blog then you're in the right place!! If you have just come across this hop, make sure you head back to Emily's blog! You don't want to miss any blogs on this hop, trust me!! :)

So, if you are like my husband, you may be thinking,"Hello Kitty is 80s?!?!!?!?!?". And my answer is, yes, to me Hello Kitty is 80s! :) I was born in 1983 so I don't think I remember a lot of the 80s in the same way some might... When I was a little girl I had a Hello Kitty stuffed doll that I loved and found myself thinking about years later. I even remember watching a Hello Kitty cartoon on TV! Since I know some of you - including my hubby - think I am nuts that HK was 80s.... I googled, and found this!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDg0uCfBWn0

So awesome, because I very vaguely remembered that I had it in the bathtub, and when I watched this it all came back to me!!!
I have been in love with Hello Kitty ever since, and when I started to see her all over the place again, I was soooooo excited!! Now I buy my girls everything Hello Kitty.

The very first thing that popped into my mind when I started brainstorming an 80s idea was the "Girls just wanna have fun" song... And of course this is soooo fitting for my daughter, Bria!! I don't know any little girls who are more fun than Bria!! She has a zest for life that I hope never fades!!!

I went with neon colors - of course! I'm not gonna lie... when I started to notice that neon was coming back in style I was very disappointed. Needless to say, I think it has started to wear on me! My girls even have some neon clothes!!

I found a pack of awesome neon Martha Stewart glitter at Michaels a couple weeks ago and I knew it would be PERFECT for this hop! I created a sparkle "splash" look on the background paper. I spritzed Goosebumps glue on the purple paper and then covered it in one color of glitter. Once it dried, I did the same with another color. I am in love with the result! It almost looks like paint splashed on the paper, except it sparkles!!

Of course no hop would be complete without some candy!!! I am giving away some Twine from The Twinery!!!

Please make sure you are a follower and leave a comment with a way to get in contact with you!! :)

Hope you liked my project!! Now onto my friend Elizabeth's blog for some more 80s inspiration!!!

This hop is a 2 days, so you have plenty of time to get through all of the blogs. Make sure you comment on them all since there is going to be a great prize at the end! :)
If you've arrived here from Theresa's blog you're on the right track! If you're stopping by my blog today and want to start at the beginning, please visit Emily's blog.

I love Hello Kitty so much!! She's just soooo adorable!! I have been wanting to do this layout with this Hello Kitty cut since this spring but finally got around to it for this hop.

Isn't her coat just too adorable?? I wish I had the same one for my girls! :)

I had to add this stamp on this layout. This winter was sooo long in Alberta, that we REALLY did celebrate the sunshine once it arrived!! This stamp is from the Enjoy the Journey set by Pink By Design.

Since this blog hop is all about Hello Kitty, I thought I would also share my daughter, Brittyn's, Hello Kitty room...

There are still some bare walls in there now that need to be attended to when I get time... (There ARE window coverings now though!) Her bedding also matches but I don't have a pic of that. :(  I love her room, wish I could live in there! :)

I also have some blog candy to give away!!

Some of the YUMMY twine from The Twinery that I used on this layout! Please make sure you are a follower of my blog and that you leave a comment letting me know how to contact you!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the hop so far - your next and final stop in the hop is Libby!!

Got Candy?

**** Click HERE for my current GIVEAWAY!! ***** (only need 33 more followers before I can give away my prize!! :))
Hi out there!! My project today is was inspired by two challenges... Throwback Thursdays over at Creative Time for Me and the Sketchy Challenge at Peachy Keen.

I used paper from a Halloween stack by Recollections, the Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge, Guess Who stamp set by Pink By Design, some ribbon from my stash, a black paper clip, and an epoxy brad from Wal-Mart. I also used some Martha Stewart glitter glue and a white gelly roll pen.

The Throwback Thursday challenge was to use the card feature on a cartridge. I don't really like shaped cards, but I wanted to use the Hello Kitty shape so I made a card within a card! Hello Kitty on the front of the card opens up to say 'got candy?'. I think it's so cute, and I know Bria will love being able to open up Hello Kitty. :)

I hope you like my card today!!

Bria's THREE!!!!

I cannot believe my first little baby is three today... It's so exciting, and sad at the same time! I love experiencing all the firsts with her but at the same time, it's going by too fast!! Here is a pic of her when she was only 6 months old...

And here is my big three year old, today, at her birthday party!!

And decorating her cookie lollipop....

Here is the card I made for her, which was not at all how I had pictured it in my mind...

To be totally honest, I was pretty disappointed with this card. :( I would call it  FLOP. But, oh well!! I am looking forward to getting back into my craft room and creating something that turns out great!

Sorry... No details yet again today. The girls are napping and I am off to clean and prepare for the "family"   birthday party and supper tonight!

Sweet Talker

**** Click HERE for my current GIVEAWAY!! *****

Happy Tuesday Guys!! I seriously cannot believe it's already the 26th of July... Time is FLYING by!! My baby is going to be a year old in two weeks, and I have barely even started on her party planning!!! I have a general idea, but haven't really gotten started. Plus, this weekend is going to be the big One Year Anniversary Party at Pink By Design!! (Make sure you're around for that, it's going to be soo much fun!!)

My layout today is for Brittyn's album. I wanted to make sure I did this page now, so that I don't forget all the words she is saying at this age. I love how this page turned out!!

I got this paper from WalMart the other day and I LOVE it!! It's by Momenta. I couldn't wait to work with it, the colors are awesome.

My FAVORITE things to make and stamp with cute little faces are ice cream, cupcakes and fruit!!! They are just so adorable!!

Here are the details of this layout...
- The ice cream sundae was cut from Sweet Treats @ 5", the cherry on top was embellished with Glossy Accents and the face was from the Peachy Keen Princess Faces set
- the cherries were cut from Hello Kitty Greetings @ 1.5" and stamped also with Peachy Keen Princess Face stamps. I glossed these with Glossy Accents as well (although you can't tell in the pic..)
- the banner was cut from the Birthday Bash cart @ 1.5", the twine was from The Twinery, the letters are stickers from my stash
- 'Talker' is cut from Country Life at about 5.5"
- the little white tag that says '1st words' was made using the Labels set from Pink By Design, the words were from the So Big set (see below...)
- Martha Stewart lace border punch
- scalloped part of journaling tag was cut from Gypsy Wanderings (sorry.. don't have the size) and the inside lined circle was cut from a notepad I bought on sale at Michaels (for this purpose!!) I cut the tage really big because I have so much to say on this layout! :)

Here are the PBD stamp sets I used...

SO BIG

Hello Kitty Wall Hanging

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did!! :) For Christmas my Dad and my daughters got me a certificate to a camera course that took place this Saturday! It was great, I am now using all the manual settings on my camera (it's about time really, I've had the camera for 2 years...). Anyways... The project I'm sharing today is a wall hanging for Bria's room. We just moved into a new house a month ago and I have been LOVING decorating two girly little rooms. Here's what I created...

I am entering this into Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time ( HERE). I love her stamps and hope to purchase a set (or two;)) sometime in the near future!

And here is some other pics of Bria's room so you can really get a feel of how the picture will look in her room...

Bria is, and has been since she was a little baby, the spark of the family. She's so active, bright and full of life so I think her room really suits her. I'm not quite done in there, I have a few things I have yet to put up on her walls. Someday! OH! And I'll bet at least one person who looks at these pics is going to wonder where the little 2 year old's toys are??? They're downstairs in her toy room... which is not quite so tidy. :) I have a couple more picture ideas in mind for Brittyn's (my other daughter) room and once I get those done I'll show you her room too! :) (It's soooo cute...)

So here are the details on the Hello Kitty wall hanging....

- Hello Kitty Greetings cart for Hello Kitty
- snail, butterfly, clouds and sun from Create A Critter
- flowers from Sweet Treats (I'm not too sure where I got the stem from... I think it may have been Create A Critter?)
- grass from Paper Doll Dressup
- Peachy Keen Everday Character Face Assortment for snail and sun faces
- Tim Holtz distressed ink to give the grass some dimension
- white Gelly Roll pen for doodles
- Tattered Angels Glimmermist on clouds and sun
- blig from dollar store for flower centers

I was also wondering.... Do you guys like to know the sizes of the cuts? I never pay much attention when I look at other peoples' projects but please let me know if the sizes interest you and I can add them on here from now on. Thanks!!

Thanks Snow Much!

The card I'm posting today was made for an Aunt and Uncle of mine who are always doing things for our family and they love to send little gifts for our girls. They are living in Texas for the winter and won't be seeing any snow (so jealous!) - so I thought I would send them some! :)

The card base was cut from Birthday Bash and the snowman was from Hello Kitty Greetings. I embossed the bergundy paper using my Sizzix Boutique. The sentiment was from the My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies set. For some reason the sentiment didn't show up that well, I think I need to look into getting a better ink pad... I can't really say I'm overly happy with this card... I think the snowman should have been bigger, and the bow smaller. Oh well... live and learn! :)
