Pretty Princess Wall Hanging
Hello Everyone!! Happy Last Week Of March!! Spring is on its way here, although it's taking its sweet time!! It's been still snowing and blowing here which meant the roads are really bad, which ALSO means I missed out on the 50% off coupon at Michaels on Saturday. :( Oh well... It just meant more time at home for some projects! A friend of mine wanted me to make her a princess picture for her little girl's room. I've made one of these previously for my daughter's room but I thought I would change this one up a bit and add a spring feel to it. I love creating pictures! Pictures and gift bags are definitely my two favorite things to create at the moment! :)
Here's what I came up with:
Here's what I came up with:
Here are all the details....
- size of picture is 8"x10", frame is just a regular picture frame
- cut the blue base at 8"x10" and glued a white 8"x10" sheet on the backside just to make it less flimsy
- I cut 4 strips of grass from PaperDoll Dress-Up @ 4.55" - some of them are mirrored so that they all don't look the same. I inked around them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and a cheap makeup sponge (from Dollarstore)
- the hill the castle is sitting on was cut by hand and inked the same way as the rest of the grass
- flowers on the grass are plastic Doodlebug embellishments with brads in the centers
- the princess was cut @ 4.5" from Once Upon A Princess cart, her face was from the Wide Eyed Kids Peachy Keen set. I colored her face with Gelly Roll pens (purple for eyelids, white for eyes, pink for tongue) and black ZIG pen (her mouth). Also a little pink chalk on her cheeks. Her hair was inked the same was as the grass. I embossed the pink layer on her dress with Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and added some bling from the Dollarstore. Her crown came from Once Upon A Princess as well and I used my gypsy to size it correctly to fit her head (bling from the Dollarstore). Finished up her dress with a little faux stitching with my white Gelly Roll pen.
- The bird was cut @ 1.5" from Simply Charmed, glitter on it's belly was Martha Stewart (I love Martha Stweart glitter!!)
- Castle was cut @ 2.85" from Once Upon A Princess, added some doodles with white Gelly Roll
- rainbow was cut @ 1.44" from Simply Charmed. I also added some Martha Stweart Glitter
- clouds were cut at various sizes from Simply Charmed, embossed with Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and inked with blue Martha Stewart ink.

Happy Mother's Day Card AND The Tape Depot...
Hi everyone!! Boy, am I happy today!!! I FINALLY found refill tape for my ATG gun cheaper than Michaels. I have been looking into this or so long.... Fellow crafty Canadians, you know what I'm talking about, right?!?! Refills at Michaels are $5 a roll in Canada! Sometimes I can use a coupon and get them 40% off one pack, but I live 2 hours from the nearest Michaels so when I do get there I need to stock up! I did some researching on the web and found a few places that sell them but none as cheap as The Tape Depot. My only problem was that I kept calling and calling, sending emails, and I could never get ahold of anyone. I tried ordering online but there was an error when I went to checkout and I was never able to select a province on their order form. FINALLY this morning I got ahold of someone. I bought a CASE - 144 rolls - and got it shipped to my Uncle in Texas, who is driving back to Canada on Thursday. It ended up costing me $186 (including RUSH shipping to my Uncle so it gets to him before he leaves Texas) for 144 rolls!! So cheap! Anyways, that has gotten me super excited! For anyone else from Canada trying to order from there, the guy I talked to said they are switching over servers and should have the online form back and working by the end of the week. I hope that helps someone else who was in my situation! :)
Onto today's project!! I made ANOTHER super quick card... My husband is going to finally have some time off work in a couple weeks! I have my fingers crossed he will look after the kids so I can lock myself away in my craft room for an afternoon and get some scrapbooking done. For now it'll be cards! I need the practice anyway... ;)
I finally got to use my Country Life cart!! I made this with my mom in mind. I know she will love the colors, and her house is very "country" so I think she's going to like it.
Details...
- vase is from Country Life (I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink)
- flower centers are Recollections pearls from Michaels
- Sentiment stamped on the inside is 'Happy Mother's Day' from My Pink Stamper
- of COURSE doodles with my white Gelly Roll pen
whew, my am I wordy today!! :)

Throwback Thursday Challenge & Wacky Wednesday Challenges
Hi Everyone!! :) Happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a great day!
So I finally got to try out the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge I received about a week or so ago! I don't have any boys, but I do have a brother and three nephews (possibly one more on the way!) so I thought I could get some use out of this cart! I decided to combine two challenges and use them for inspiration. The challenges are: Throwback Thursday Challenge (HERE) @ My Creative Time and Wacky Wednesday Challenge @ More Than Favors (HERE). It was to use an older cart and the color green. Here is what I came up with...
Of course the details...
- Standard A2 sized card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
- Tractor from Boys Will Be Boys cut @ 2.94
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink around tractor edges and off-white layer
- hemp from WalMart
- black ZIG pen and white Gelly Roll pen for doodles
- Martha Stewart border punch
I think this card is perfect for a Father's Day card for a Dad/Grandpa or for a little boy's Birthday. I'm from a small community in Alberta so there is a lot of farming around - surely I'll find someone to give it to! :)

Cute Happy Birthday
Hi out there! :) I haven't really used my PK stamps for my last few projects so I was having some withdrawls! I've been wanting to make a cute little smiling present for a little while now so I decided that was what I would do next.
You'd think a present with a smiley face would be such a simple concept... For some reason I had such trouble with this simple little present! I just could not get the bow to look good... I tried a couple different color combos and I finally just settled with this one.
While I was working on this project do you know what I realized that I LOVE?? My gypsy!! I don't know how I ever lived without it!! Actually, I guess I never really did live without it... LOL. I never really used my cricut much until I got my gypsy. My all time favorite feature on the gypsy is the hide contour button. Being able to alter the images on the cartridges takes creativity to a whole new level. Since I've received my gypsy (a gift from my hubby! now that's a great man... :)) I haven't used my cricut without it!!
Here are some details...
- Card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
- Present cut from Simply Charmed @ 2.41"
- Scalloped circle cut from Gypsy Wanderings @ 3.16"
- Circle inside scalloped circle cut from Gypsy Wanderings @ 2.57"
- Happy Birthday tag cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More @ 0.49"
- 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from My Pink Stamper Family and Friends
- Embossed circle and dark pink layer with Sizzix Texture Boutique & Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder
- Face on present is from the Peachy Keen set Wide Eyed Kids
- Purple twine from The Twinery
- Doodles with ZIG black marker and white gelly roll pen
I'm going to enter this card in four challenges...
- Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge (HERE)
- Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday (HERE)
- Incy Wincy Designs (HERE)

Vintage Card Set
Hi there! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! It was so nice here and the snow is finally starting to melt away!!! Oh happy day! :) The only problem is that we live on a brand new acerage (no grass yet) so once the snow is gone we are going to have MUD everywhere! My daughter is going to love it, I however will not! :) Oh well... still welcoming the nice weather!
So today I am sharing a set of blank cards I made. I love these because they are so versatile. The are pretty simple but I think they came out really classy.

Sew Super Cute Challenge
About a week ago I made a baby girl card with matching gift bag (I didn't have the bag in the pic, I made it the next day...) with a little lamb on it. I loved it so much I decided to make a boy version for the Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday Challenge (HERE). You had to use stitching - real or faux - and of course a little PK face stamp. Check out my project....
Of all the new carts I just got, I resort to good 'ole Create A Critter! What can I say, I just love this cart... I would be soooo happy if Provo Craft came out with another similar cart. I have been wanting to cut this little frog for a while but just haven't had the opportunity yet. I used my PK Everyday Character Face Parts stamps and I cut (yes cut... trust me, I took one big deep breathe and snipped. It was scary, I hold my PK stamps near and dear to my heart but I had to do it for the sake of the froggie! :)) a set of eyes in half. After I cut them I set them (and the mouth) onto the froggie and lined them up exactly where I wanted them. Then I set my acrylic block on top and pushed down so the stamps would stick to the block in the position I had placed them. Then I inked and stamped! It worked awesome! I stamped his little face, a little stitching, embossing and chalk to make his cheeks rosy and viola! So cute!
Here are some details of my card/bag set...
- froggie from Create A Critter
- Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Parts stamps for froggie
- sentiment from My Pink Stamper
- twine from The Twinery
- Martha Stewart border punch
- Cuttlebug embossing folder
- 3D foam stickers, gift bag and tissue from dollar store (tissue photographed a weird color, it actually matches better in person...)
So long for now!!

Wishes
Hello! So I didn't get a lot of time with my new cartridges yet. :( I had a playdate for my girls with some of their buddies at my house this morning - 6 kids under the age of 2 1/2! Not gonna lie... I was pretty nervous since our house is brand new, we've only been living here for about 6 weeks. It was a lot of work having those little ones here! So when my girls went down for their nap, I did NOTHING! And it was great. Here is a card I had started on a few days ago and was finally able to add a few little finishing touches this afternoon while the girls were playing nicely.
Here are some details....
- cupcake is from Simply Charmed
-Make A Wish sentiment is My Pink Stamper
- twine from The Twinery
- oval the sentiment is stamped on is from Ashlyn's Alphabet
- EK Success border punch and another EK success round corner punch
- watermark pen & gelly roll pen for added touches
- popped cupcake up on some foam stickers
- popped cupcake up on some foam stickers
I was actually pleasantly surprised with the Ashlyn's Alphabet cart! The only reason I bought it was because I was planning on doing some vinyl for the girls' rooms but after seeing what it can all cut I love it!

What a Haul!
Hello! So I am over the moon today! I picked up my parcel this morning and I received my seven (older) cartridges I ordered!! Here is what I bought....
- Country Life
- Storybook
- From My Kitchen
- Paisley
- Sesame Street Seasons
- Ashlyn's Alphabet
- Mickey and Friends
I've had my cricut for a little over two years but to tell you the truth it was just a dust collector for the majority of that time! I really didn't know how to ue it to its potential and the cartridges at Michaels were always sooo expensive. We live 2 hours from the closest Michaels so I didn't even know the carts came on sale. Needless to say, up until this past November I only had a handful of cartridges. In November I discovered My Pink Stamper videos on YouTube and that's when I caught Cricut Fever!! Now that I have found stores online that sell carts for WAY cheaper than Michaels I've been stocking up! :) Anyways.... I cannot wait until my kids go to bed tonight! :) I'll will be back shortly with a project!!

Twinkle Toes Giveaway!
Hey everyone!! I stumbled upon this cart giveaway that I wanted to let everyone know about. It's being given away by Elaine from Expressions By Elaine to celebrate 300 followers.
And I was also wondering if anyone out there could tell me where this cartridge is sold?? I'm from Canada and we don't have near the selection as the US. I'm guessing it's sold only in the US at WalMart? I can't find it on their website.... Anyways, if anyone else out there is dying to get their hands on this cart, here is your chance!! :)

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!
Hi everyone!! So I have been soooo busy this last week. My husband has been gone away to work and my kids are not sleeping at all... My 7 month old has been teething and not settling down at night until about 2 - 3 am and my 2 1/2 year old has been waking up at 5 - 6 am. My parents, who are always sooo helpful with my kids, have been gone on a holiday for a week so I haven't had much relief. I've been going to bed after my kids go to bed and crafting has been put on the backburner unfortunately. :( So that's my sob story! My mom came over today to give me a little break, my husband is coming home tomorrow night and we're all on the mend!
Here is the card I made for the latest Peachy Keen challenge (HERE) and the Terrific Tuesday Challenge at Scrappy Moms (HERE). The Terrific Tuesday Challenge was to use either B is for Boy or Sugar & Spice. I don't have B is for Boy or Sugar & Spice (it's on my wishllist...) so I hope this card fits into their challenge!!

I LOVE how this card turned out. I am totally in my element when I scrap anything with bling and cute girly colors. And is that not the cutest little lamb ever?? I love her... And I was just dying to try out my new Peachy Keen set (Wide Eyed & Bushy Tailed) and I'm super happy with it!!! The little lamb is from Create a Critter... my fav cart. I hope you like!! The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and I embossed it using white powder. I used an EK Success border bunch for the plaid layer, ribbon from Michaels, Recollection bling on her bows and of course my white gelly roll pen for doodles!
I'm so happy to be back! :)
