Majority approve of Trump picks

The Federalist Wire: ... A recent CBS News/YouGov poll reveals that most Americans approve of how President-elect Donald Trump is managing his transition to the presidency. Conducted between November 19 and 22, the survey included responses from 2,232 American adults, with 59 percent approving of Trump’s approach to the transition and 41 percent expressing disapproval. ... The poll also explored public opinion on several of Trump’s high-profile cabinet picks, yielding a variety of responses. Forty-four percent of respondents believed Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) as Secretary of State was a “good choice,” with a significant 75 percent of Trump voters agreeing. Meanwhile, 25 percent of respondents viewed it as “not” a good choice, including 5 percent of Trump voters. An additional 31 percent said they had not heard enough about the decision, a sentiment shared by 19 percent of Trump voters. Forty-seven percent of respondents supported the pick of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Health and H...

Governor and two senators in the running for Trump VP nominee

Newsmax: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are former President Donald Trump's top vice-presidential picks for the 2024 election, and Burgum and Vance are in the lead, reported NBC News . Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, plans to announce his VP pick at the Republican National Convention in July. He has already requested personal information from Burgum, Rubio, and Vance. Other politicians previously under consideration were Ben Carson, the former Trump cabinet secretary; Reps. Byron Donalds of Florida and Elise Stefanik of New York; and Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Tim Scott of South Carolina. According to the NBC report, Burgum and Vance are Trump's top finalists. Doubts about Rubio's enthusiasm for the job along with an issue concerning Trump and Rubio's residency in Florida have added a level of complexity to the process. The 12th Amendment maintains that presidential and vice-presidential candidates ...

Rubio among top contenders for Trump VP

Fox News: The race to determine who will be Donald Trump's running mate this November took a major step forward last week with the acceleration of vetting multiple potential candidates, but political insiders with deep knowledge of presidential campaigns say there is one possible name on the former president's shortlist Democrats "fear" the most. Trump's campaign recently entered the next phase of the running mate search by requesting documents from several prospective contenders, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who has grown to be a staunch ally of the former president since running against him in the 2016 Republican presidential primaries. "Rubio is a familiar face who has become one of the strongest voices in the Senate for the America First agenda, is excellent on TV, and can blast Biden effectively for his failed policies," one top GOP strategist told Fox News Digital. INSIDERS PREDICT THIS POSSIBLE TRUMP VP PICK POSES ‘EXISTENTIAL THREAT’ TO...

Trump was a more successful president than Biden

Red State: Marco Rubio Leaves Jonathan Karl Spluttering As He Lays Out Successes of Trump Versus Failures of Biden Rubio is right about Trump, but it is typical of the leftist media to miss the differences with Biden.  I think it is because of the media's Trump-hatred.

Trump looks to three senators for national security team

I like all of these guys, and hopefully, their Senate seats could be retained by other Republicans.  They are seen as strong on defense and border security.  One of Biden's obvious weaknesses is his open borders policy.  It is a policy that makes no sense and has led to an influx of millions of illegals.

Dem group allegedly got illegal donations

Gateway Pundit: Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) sent off a letter to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) demanding an investigation into the hundreds of thousands of small donations adding up to millions of dollars given to Democratic fundraising giant ActBlue in the past two elections. As The Gateway Pundit first reported late last year on the thousands of donation mules donating to Democrat Raphael Warnock from across the country. ... Candice Owen reported on the BLM – ActBlue relationship and was targeted by a bogus fact-checker. Tom Fitton from Judicial Watch jumped in and stated that their findings confirmed what TGP and Candice Owen reported: Transparency? So if you want to make a tax-deductible charitable donation directly to Black Lives Matter, you can’t. You donate to Act Blue Charities. Act Blue Charities sends this money, allegedly, to another charity, Thousand Currents, which runs BLM as a “fiscal sponsorship.” — Tom Fitton (@TomFitton) June 20, 2020 ‘Thousand Currents’ w...

Is US helping Chicom spies?

Washington Examiner: ... Chinese Communist Party spy agencies have launched a relentless campaign to acquire American intellectual property that can propel the country's bid for “economic and technological leadership” vis-a-vis the U.S., as FBI Director Christopher Wray put it in 2020. Those cloak-and-dagger operations are reinforced by an array of research networks operating in the open, a senior member of the Senate Intelligence Committee fears, and the misgiving has spurred a new  congressional  effort aimed at “preventing PLA acquisition of United States technology,” as the legislative title has it, by cracking down on U.S. entities linked to China's so-called military-civil fusion strategy. “Beijing will lie, cheat, and steal to become more powerful than the United States,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), said in a statement to the  Washington Examiner . “All too often, our nation’s scientists and experts partner with their Chinese counterparts without understanding h...

Dealing with the plague of corporate wokeness

The Lid: Sen. Marco Rubio Introduces Bill to Hold Corporations to Account for Leftist Woke Policies   Marco Rubio Has Introduced A Bill That Would Hold Leftist Corporations Accountable For Interfering In The Legislative Actions Of The States. The bill would allow shareholder suits against the corporations whose journey into wokeness has caused the companies to have financial losses because of the alienation of customers.  Their goofy response to election integrity laws resulted in customers shunning their businesses.

Rubio replaces Barr as chair of Senate Intel committee

Politico: Sen. Marco Rubio will temporarily serve as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Monday. The Florida Republican’s appointment as interim chairman of the panel comes after Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) last week informed Senate leadership that he would step aside as chairman while he faces an FBI investigation into his stock trades. It represents a significant elevation for Rubio, who after a failed 2016 presidential campaign is once again seeing his star rise. With the appointment, Rubio becomes a member of the so-called “Gang of 8,” the group of congressional and intelligence committee leaders from both chambers who regularly receive the most sensitive classified briefings. “Senator Rubio was the natural choice for this temporary assignment on the basis of accumulated committee service,” McConnell said in a statement. “His proven leadership on pertinent issues only made the decision easier.” Rubio is among the Sena...

Bigots on the left hate minorities who disagree with them

Giancarlo Sopo: The Left's growing hatred for conservative Cuban Americans exposed They are especially upset with articulate conservatives like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.  I think both of them are great Americans as are many other Cuban Americans who escaped communism to build a better life in this country.  They were all wise enough to reject leftist ideologies that made a mess of Cuba.

A devastating response to snark from NY Times writer

Caleb Howe: WOW Did Ted Cruz Just Bring The Hammer Down On Twitter The writer suggested Rubio and Cruz were posturing for a future run for office.  Cruz's response: Gosh, you're right. This may be why Trump is not ruling out military action against Venezuela's regime

Daily Wire: Report: Marco Rubio May Be Target Of Assassination Order By Venezuelan Official According to Patricia Mazzei of the Miami Herald , Diosdado Cabello Rondon, a drug lord and an influential figure within Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuelan government, may have placed a hit order on Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). ... It looks like Trump's warning was an attempt to quash the effort to murder a US senator.  It is a further indication of how the socialist have turned Venezuela into a narco state.  It has been mainly a transit hub for Colombian cartels in recent years.

Kerry speech not well received in Congress

Politico: Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz came out with blistering statements on Wednesday denouncing Secretary of State John Kerry for his speech on the White House’s vision of Mideast peace and his defense of its move to allow a United Nations resolution condemning Israeli settlements to pass. Rubio, a Florida Republican, accused Kerry of catering to “the demands of freedom’s enemies” in a statement. Kerry devoted “an entire speech to disparaging a country that is one of our closest allies,” he said. Cruz, a Texas conservative, called the speech “disgraceful” and charged that “history will record and the world will fully understand Obama and Kerry as relentless enemies of Israel.” He also accused the Obama administration of having a “radical anti-Israel agenda.” ... Cruz rejected Kerry’s argument that “Israel can either be Jewish or democratic,” but not both, and accused him of drawing a false equivalence between the Israeli settlements and attacks carried out by Palestinians....

Breitbart accused of coordinating with liberals against Rubio and Cruz

Politico: A liberal activist and organizer coordinated with reporters from the conservative news site Breitbart during the primaries to cover his disruptions of events for candidates such as Sen. Marco Rubio. Aaron Black, an associate with Democracy Partners and a former Occupy Wall Street organizer, worked with the pro-Trump site Breitbart, tipping it off about his stunts, exchanging raw video and coordinating coverage, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Black has resurfaced recently as one of the people featured in undercover video from the Project Veritas group. In the video, he claims to work for the Democratic National Committee. Though he does not appear on their payroll, his bio at Democracy Partners credits him with "working closely with the Democratic National Committee" during the 2012 election cycle. Black in the video says he helped organize protests in Chicago that led to Trump's cancellation of a rally there in March. Accor...

The Democrats plan to demonize Cruz and Rubio if they got the nomination

Washington Examiner: ... The DNC compiled hundreds of pages of opposition research against Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Ted Cruz as well. Many of the planned attacks on Cruz and Rubio mirrored those either Republican would have leveled back at Clinton. For example, the campaign weighed a plan to attack Cruz for refusing to disclose the amount his father, Rafael Cruz, was paid for speeches, as well as the fact that he once paid a $200 late fee for failing to file his financial disclosure to the Senate on time. Clinton's team dedicated an entire chapter to the ways Rubio "cashed in on his influence to boost his income." Democratic operatives collected the most ammunition to use against Rubio. His 431-page research book was far longer than the 201 pages dedicated to Cruz or the 157 pages written about Trump. The "top narratives" Democrats would have deployed against Rubio included his "reckless" foreign policy and his "troubling record on w...

Tracking the media switch to aggressively attacking Trump

Neil Stevens: What the press started to do to Donald Trump as soon as the RNC locked in the nomination is as transparent as it is unfair. You see, once it was too late for the party to change to another candidate, Trump started to get the full on Crubio treatment. What's the Crubio treatment? Simply it's the same coverage Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio got in the primaries. Every tiny story, no matter how innocent and easily explained, is blown up into being the worst scandal ever. The way Marco Rubio was treated was as biased as you can get. They attacked his wife for speeding. They attacked him for owning a tiny fishing boat. They attacked him for having student loans. They attacked him for being a prominent Republican who paid his credit card bills honestly. They threw everything to the wall to see what stuck. It was the same way for Ted Cruz. They attacked him because John Boehner and Mitch McConnell hate his guts. They attacked him for liking soup. They attacked him for ...

Democrats in big trouble in Florida Senate race

Politico: Republicans are trying to end the Florida Senate race before it even begins. In one dramatic day this month, the entire race — one of roughly a half-dozen on which control of the Senate rests — was turned on its head. First, GOP Sen. Marco Rubio dropped his retirement plans and announced plans to run for reelection. Within hours, the CBS affiliate in Miami aired a bombshell investigative story accusing the Democratic establishment's chosen candidate, 33-year-old Rep. Patrick Murphy, of rampant résumé inflation. ... Now, Republicans smell blood in the water, and they're looking to damage Murphy so badly that Democrats are forced to spend heavily on his behalf ahead of the state's Aug. 30 primary — or abandon the race altogether. The GOP is adopting a strategy that's been used against it repeatedly in recent election cycles: Propping up a politically toxic, outside-the-mainstream candidate in the other party's primary, in this case firebrand liberal Re...
