Bernie Sanders tries to revive the Dems

The Federalist Wire: ... In a pointed critique following the recent 2024 election, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stressed the need for the Democratic Party to prioritize the concerns of working-class Americans. Sanders’ comments come in the wake of a significant Republican victory, with President-elect Donald Trump defeating Vice President Kamala Harris and sweeping all seven swing states. This outcome has sparked discussions on the Democratic Party’s current direction and strategy, with some questioning whether it has strayed too far from the core issues that matter to everyday workers. Sanders, who comfortably secured re-election in Vermont, has been vocal in his concerns, arguing that the Democratic Party has drifted away from its working-class roots. Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, he emphasized that Democrats need to show stronger support for economic policies aimed at benefiting working Americans. “We need an agenda that says to the working class, we’re going to take on ...

The Dems' 'End of Democracy' BS

Guardian: ‘It will be the end of democracy’: Bernie Sanders on what happens if Trump wins – and how to stop him There is literally no evidence that Trump would not leave office at the end of a four-year term.  In fact, he has said that he would just as he has already done.

Bernie Sanders eventually gets the difference between equality and equity

He comes to the right answer in the end. Equality is about equal opportunity and equity becomes a raced based concept. See, also: CUNY embraces mediocrity in the name of equity — at students’ expense

Math is hard for a socialist

John Sexton: Bernie Sanders: 2 Senators can't be allowed to defeat what 48 Senators want Sanders is as bad with math as he is with economics.  He can't figure out how 50 plus 2 beats 48.

Bernie's delusion about the President and his own authoritarian impulse

NY Times: Trump Is ‘Leading Us Down the Path of Authoritarianism,’ Sanders Says In his D.N.C. Speech, Bernie Sanders described the policy decisions that will separate Joe Biden from President Trump. This has to be one of the more absurd speeches from a guy who would impose a totalitarian economy on the US that would devastate the public and would lead to a loss of freedom for everyone but the authoritarian Democrats at the top.  Biden has bought into his vision for taking away people's freedoms in the name of socialism and leftist dogma.  There has never been a successful implementation of "Democratic socialism."  Never.  It takes a top-down authoritarian government to impose such an awful system and we can see the results in Cuba and Venezuela.

Open borders Democrats would end deal with Mexico that is stopping the Central American migration

Washington Examiner: Bernie Sanders and Biden would end deal with Mexico stemming Central American migration: Ex-Trump Border Patrol chief This would do great harm to minorities in this country who have benefited from the Trump economy.  The migrants would take jobs especially from blacks and Hispanics in this country.  Any minorities who support Biden or Sanders would be voting against their own interests.  The two would also stop the deportation of criminal aliens in the country, baking neighborhoods less safe.

Fracking has been a significant benefit to the US and its economy

Jakob Puckett: Many politicians have taken the extreme position of wanting to ban fracking, claiming that it has done more harm than good to Americans and the environment. This couldn’t be further from the truth — the environmental and economic effects of the shale oil and gas revolution have been decidedly positive . Banning fracking, then, would be a disastrous policy decision — for many reasons. For starters, fracking saves Americans significant amounts of money. It has doubled American oil production and increased natural gas production by 60% since 2007, dramatically lowering world prices. This windfall of cheap energy has saved America over $2 trillion in lower energy costs over the last decade. Households save an average of $2,500 per year (or nearly $700 per person) on lower heating and electric bills, and gasoline prices are nearly $1.30 lower per gallon. The benefits of that are hard to overstate: lower heating costs save roughly 11,000 lives per year during col...

Democrats choose candidate with dementia over socialist who praises Castro

NY Times: Biden Takes Command of Race, Winning Four States Including Michigan Joseph R. Biden Jr. widened his advantage over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary race, capturing Mississippi and Missouri as well as Michigan, with support from both black and white voters. Neither of the main Democrat candidates to run for President is particularly smart.  Socialism is a failed ideology everywhere it has been tried including Scandinavia.  Biden is a corrupt politician who monetized his office as Vice President to enrich family members.  He has a problem remembering where he is and who he is with.  He makes foolish and insulting arguments with voters who disagree with him.  Both of them make Trump look like a genius. The media has been trying to hide Biden's threats and insulting behavior . In a viral moment from an auto plant in Detroit Tuesday, a raging Joe Biden lashed out and threatened to assault (slap) an autoworker who confronted him about his ...

Sanders voters vote to increase the debt for the country to deal with their mismanagement

NY Times: A Sanders Voter, Weary of Debt at 29: ‘I Have Nothing to Lose’ Brian Michelz has never worn a political T-shirt or been to a campaign rally. But when he voted for the first time in his life, it was for Bernie Sanders. What will he do if Mr. Sanders loses? If they are weary of debt they should consider what the Sanders agenda would do to the debt of the country and the increased taxes they and everyone else will have to pay.  Increasing government debt for everyone will not solve their problems at all.  They will just be sharing their misery with people who have better managed their money.

Will Bernie Sanders fight Biden family corruption or fold like he did in 2016?

John Kass: ... If Bernie Sanders wants to really fight and draw a contrast between himself and Biden, he should go to that Ukrainian business. Yammering about Biden and Social Security won't cut it. Joe Biden is a swamp creature and his family has scored off Joe's political leverage, just as if Joe were mayor of Chicago in the old days. Bernie is not a swamp creature. He's an ideologue of the left and the Democratic establishment hates him. It's not policy. They're all going the same direction. This is about control. If the Democratic establishment had a choice between losing elections or losing control of the party, they'd lose elections. Without control of the party they have no leverage to make their deals. The Republican establishment was the same in 2016. They would have rather lost the White House than have President Donald Trump run their party. But Trump rushed them and fought in the mud and the blood and the beer, biting ears off and giving no qu...

Young people did not turnout to vote for Bernie Sanders on Super Tuesday

Esquire: As we emerge from a gobsmacking Super Tuesday, 78-year-old Bernie Sanders continues to be the Youth Candidate. He won voters under 30 across the 14 states up for grabs on the Democratic primary's biggest night so far, often by outright majorities. But thus far, reports of a revolution have been greatly exaggerated. There is no evidence at this point that Sanders's core promise, that he will attract millions of new voters to the political process—particularly young and working-class people of color—to dramatically remake the Democratic coalition, will come to pass. It doesn't matter how much young people like you if they don't show up to vote. It's one of many reasons Joe Biden has risen from the dead. In Virginia, where the first signs of Biden's Lazarus act popped on the screen, voter turnout nearly doubled from the 2016 Democratic primary. 1.3 million votes were cast. This sounds like good news for Sanders, who wants to expand the Democratic elect...

Bernie Sanders's wacko supporters

Jeff Dunetz: Bernie Campaign Welcomes Group Wanting to ‘Abolish Prisons,’ Promotes Terrorism This appears to be the same goofballs on the left who tried to do away with bail in New York leading to an increase in crime as criminals were immediately released after arrest.  While I suspect he may have some sane supporters, it is clear that he attracts a certain number of lunatics and authoritarians.

Sanders 'surprised' by the move against his socialist agenda

Image
NY Times: Sanders Campaign Was Caught Off Guard by Quick Massing of Opposition “It’s becoming clear that in order for us to win this nomination, that road clearly flows through Joe Biden,’’ Bernie Sanders’s campaign manager said. The only thing I find surprising about the move is that Sanders is surprised.  The Democrat establishment has been signaling for some time that they think a Sanders nomination will be a disaster for the party and would likely lead to a wipeout of down-ballot Democrats.  The move is an attempt to save other Democrat candidates. Whether it will work is an open question.  Biden is looking more and more like someone suffering from dementia and it will be hard for the mainstream media to keep hiding this and it is pretty clear that the Trump campaign will not ignore it.  I would not be surprised to see a campaign ad with Bidenisms like yesterday's misguided attempt to quote from the Declaration of Independence. Daily Mail: Joe B...

Republicans work on down ticket strategy if Sanders is Dem nominee

Daily Wire: House Democrats are desperately testing strategies that could lead them to victory despite a Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)-topped presidential ticket, but Republicans, it seems, are testing a few strategies of their own, so that they can be better prepared to “invade” so-called “Blue States” where Sanders tanks downticket Democrats. Politico reports that Republicans are “launching a multi-million-dollar field effort in four blue states” in the hopes of harnessing Democratic angst, even in solidly liberal states like California and New York “with the hopes of flipping the House back to the GOP” in 2020. “The Republican National Committee is deploying dozens of field staffers to California, New Jersey, New York and Illinois,” the Washington, D.C.-based outlet reported Monday. “While none of the four states is remotely in play at the presidential level, each has numerous competitive House races and played a critical role in helping Democrats capture the chamber in 2018.” ...

Bernie Sanders is an existential threat to Democrats

Adrian Norman: It’s not a good look for your political party when you’re heading into one of the most critical elections in U.S. history and your lead presidential candidate is a 77-year-old, self-proclaimed socialist, who just had a heart attack only months prior to regaling his followers on the campaign trail with fanciful stories about the supposed “good side” of some of the world’s most brutal communist dictators. Yet that’s exactly the candidate the Democratic Party has with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a man who represents the same thing that impeachment of President Donald Trump did for the party—an unmitigated disaster. “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, the minority leader, hear constant warnings from allies about congressional losses in November if the party nominates Bernie Sanders for president,” wrote Lisa Lerer and Reid J. Epstein for The New York Times, in a piece titled “Democratic Leaders Willing to Risk Party Damage to Stop Bernie Sanders.” ...

The Democrat campaign is marred by incompetence

Frank Miele: The Unbearable Incompetence of Democrats ... It should have been obvious to the party elders (pardon my age-ism) that Sen. Bernie Sanders, the self-proclaimed democratic socialist, is a charismatic Pied Piper who has the power to lure vast quantities of the electorate over the cliff of free stuff. He nearly won the nomination over Hillary Clinton in 2016, and maybe he would have if the Democratic National Committee had not rigged the system against him. But 2020 may be Bernie’s revenge. In part thanks to “reforms” made to the system to ensure that Sanders and his supporters will not become disaffected, the DNC changed the party’s nominating rules in ways that practically provide a roadmap for disaster. Specifically, the dreaded superdelegates (elected officials and party insiders who represent the establishment Democratic Party) lost their right to vote on the first ballot at the national convention. In 2016, those superdelegates were nearly monolithic in their supp...

Can Democrats maintain hold on suburban women voters?

NY Times: Why Some Suburban Women Are Wary of Bernie Sanders Virginia’s shift to the Democrats has been led by suburban moderates, especially college-educated women. Some wonder whether Mr. Sanders is what they signed up for. There is nothing moderate about Sanders and socialism.  Socialism is a bigger threat to the health and safety of the country than coronavirus.  It is the most deadly form of government in history with casualties in the millions.

Bernie's budget does not add up

NY Post Editorial: Bernie Sanders’ magic math: Double the government, pay with unicorn dust ... It adds up to easily doubling what the federal government spends now. And all his new taxes only bring in about half what he means to spend. Assuming they work as intended: Of course he pretends they wouldn’t slow the economy in the least. (Hey, it worked in … well, nowhere, but Bernie doesn’t care.) ... Bernie looks like a disaster for Democrats and if he won he would be a disaster for the country.

Cuba's despots praise Bernie Sanders

Daily Wire: Communist Cuba praised socialist Bernie Sanders, the front-runner in the race for the Democratic nomination for president, for his recent praise of the communist nation. “Granma, the Communist Party newspaper, prominently displayed a report about Sanders and his praise of ‘some of the social programs implemented by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro,'” The Miami Herald reported. “Adding its own analysis of the Democratic race, the newspaper said Sanders seemed ‘unstoppable’ in his move towards the nomination.” “Granma and several state media outlets reported the comments made by Sanders in an interview with Anderson Cooper for ’60 minutes’ on Sunday, in which the senator said it was ‘unfair’ to say that ‘everything is bad’ in Cuba, and praised the literacy campaign implemented by Fidel Castro shortly after he rose to power in 1959,” the Herald added. “The report also mentions that Sanders had recognized the role of Cuba in sending ‘doctors al...

Republicans think Bernie Sanders puts House majority in play

Washington Examiner: The rise of Democratic contender Bernie Sanders has top House Republicans optimistic the party will recapture the majority this November, and they have their fingers crossed he will seize the nomination. The Republican Party lost the House in 2018 amid heavy defections from key voting blocs dissatisfied with President Trump. With Sanders emerging as the Democratic front-runner this month, House Republican leaders are convinced the GOP is now poised to win back the chamber. In interviews Thursday, they characterized the socialist Vermont senator as a virtual panacea for nearly every political challenge the party faces heading into the fall, and his success is helping them whether he gains the nomination or not. “The majority is in play,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California told the Washington Examiner before speaking at a gathering in D.C. to boost female Republican congressional candidates. Added McCarthy’s deputy, House Minority Whip Steve Sca...
