Getting Americans out of Haiti

NY Post: Private operation led by ex-NFLer rescues over 60 Americans from chaotic, gang-plagued Haiti More than 60 Americans have been evacuated from Haiti in a private operation led by former New York Giant Jack Brewer as the Caribbean nation plunges into chaos and gang violence. The Brewer Foundation collaborated with several organizations to help track down and evacuate Americans through what were often extremely dangerous conditions. This effort involved more than half a dozen helicopter transfers costing between $15,000 and $80,000, and numerous volunteers working on co-ordination as well as ground efforts. “As I was busy evacuating others, the area where my family and I reside was attacked by gangs. My partner and his neighbor’s house were overrun,” one rescued American who was granted anonymity for safety reasons, recounted to The Post. “There were at least five children, all of whom were US citizens holed up in both that individual’s and their neighbor’s homes. Ultimately...

DeSantis continues to send Haitians to Dem locations

Daily Mail: Ron DeSantis has threatened to send Haitian migrants to leafy Democrat enclaves in the north as gang warfare engulfs the embattled Caribbean nation. The Florida governor said refugees arriving in his state would go the same way as the thousands of migrants he has already bussed to Democrat strongholds such as Sacramento and Martha's Vineyard. Attacks spread to upscale neighborhoods in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince on Monday leaving at least a dozen people dead on Monday as cop turned gang leader Jimmy 'Barbecue' Cherizier attempts to seize power with his thousands of heavily-armed followers. But DeSantis has already dispatched more than 100 police officers and state guards to coastal areas to sweep up any new arrivals escaping the violence. 'We do have our transport program also that's going to be operational,' he told podcaster Dana Loesch on Tuesday. 'Haitians land in the Florida Keys, their next stop very well may be Martha's Vine...

Florida reps ask Navy to block Haiti migration

Newsmax: House Republicans from Florida, expecting a wave of refugees from crisis-ridden Haiti to descend on the state, are urging President Joe Biden to allow the U.S. Navy to reinforce the state's efforts to conduct maritime interdictions and repatriation of Haitians. Reps. Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Gus Bilirakis, and Daniel Webster wrote a letter to Biden on Monday urging him to exercise his authority under 46 U.S. Code § 70051 and declare an "anticipated mass migration of aliens en route to, or arriving off the coast of, the United States." They wrote the law is bolstered by Executive Order 13276 signed by President George W. Bush in November 2002. The code allows the Defense Department to offer naval assistance to the U.S. Coast Guard to interdict and repatriate migrants before they reach U.S. soil. Haiti has been beset with a political and humanitarian crisis since gangs, led by Jimmy "Barbecue" Chérizier and his group G9, have seized the national...

DeSantis responds to threat of Haitian invasion

American Update:  Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is deploying the state guard to protect against a potential influx of illegal Haitian migrants. Haiti is currently in a state of turmoil as violent gangs have seized control of the nation’s capital city and crippled its infrastructure and economic stability. In light of the amplified threat from Haiti, DeSantis is sending 250 additional Florida State Guard forces and law enforcement officers to the state coastline to prevent a surge of illegal Haitian migrants, the governor announced on Wednesday. “For quite some time, the State of Florida has been dedicating significant resources to combat illegal vessels coming to Florida from countries such as Haiti,” DeSantis said in a statement on Wednesday. “Given the circumstances in Haiti, I have directed the Division of Emergency Management, the Florida State Guard, and state law enforcement agencies to deploy over 250 additional officers and soldiers and over a dozen air and seacraf...

Put half the illegals on a bus for Delaware and the other half going to DC

Washington Examiner: Texas braces for surge of 60,000 Haitian migrants Texas should also make it illegal for the cartel to traffic people into the state.  I would also join with Florida in suing the Biden administration for its trafficking of illegals into the state.

The migration through central America continues

Reuters: Thousands of mostly Haitian migrants traverse Panama on way to United States And:  Trump on 20K More Haitians En Route to US Border: 'Laughingstock of the Globe' A majority of American citizens oppose this unrestricted migration.

Migrants using Big Tech to map their journey to border

Fox News: For the final leg of his journey from Chile to the United States, Haitian migrant Fabricio Jean followed detailed instructions sent to him via WhatsApp from his brother in New Jersey who had recently taken the route to the Texas border. His brother wired him 20,000 pesos (about $1,000 U.S. dollars) for the trip, then meticulously mapped it out, warning him of areas heavy with Mexican immigration officials. What Jean didn’t expect was to find thousands of Haitian migrants like himself crossing at the same remote spot. The 38-year-old, his wife and two young children earlier this month joined as many as 14,000 mostly Haitian migrants camped under a Del Rio bridge, many of whom left their homeland after its devastating 2010 earthquake and have been living in Latin America , drawn by Brazil and Chile's once-booming economies. Migrants use platforms like Facebook, YouTube WhatsApp to share information, with the latter being the most popular. Online messages touting the Mex...

Biden and the Haitian illegals

Washington Examiner: Biden administration releases some Haitian migrant families at Del Rio gas station ...   Border Patrol released just over a dozen Haitian migrants at a gas station Wednesday evening. Large government-contracted buses drop off families twice a day at a gas station on a busy commercial road in the middle of town. The buses come from processing centers throughout the region where migrants who have been waiting for days under the Del Rio-Acuna International Bridge are transported and processed into the system. From there, they are either released into the U.S. if they make a credible claim of fear returning to their home country or flown back to their country of origin. ... The Biden border fiasco is becoming as large a cluster f*** as the Afghan exit fiasco.  The laws and commons sense are ignored as Democrats' desperation to import voters goes forward.

Haitians accused of assaulting pilots and ICE agents on deportation flights

Daily Mail: Haitian immigrants deported back to the Caribbean nation have bit  Immigration  and Customs Enforcement officers and assaulted pilots on deportation flights back to Port-au-Prince, according to new reports. In one incident on Monday at Laughlin Air Force Base in  Texas , two Haitian migrants left their seats as the plane taxied to the runway and attacked ICE agents by biting them, forcing takeoff to be delayed, according to the  Washington Examiner .  Meanwhile, in another incident, three ICE officers also suffered non-life-threatening injuries during an assault on Tuesday at the Port-au-Prince airport, when a group from a plane carrying single adult men stormed another recently arrived flight carrying deported families, according to  NBC News .  The Haitian men also assaulted the pilots of that plane, who work for a government contractor licensed to fly deportation flights, and demanded to be taken back to the US, a so...

Biden's Del Rio disaster

Washington Examiner Editorial: “ H ow could Biden do this to us?” Haitian migrant Sonia Piard asked reporters after being forced off a chartered plane in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. “We did not know we were going back to Haiti,” Piard continued. “Nobody told us we were going back to Haiti.” Piard is just one of hundreds, but soon to be thousands, of Haitian migrants who will be flown back to Haiti from the United States after living throughout Central and South America for almost a decade. They are victims of a Biden administration catastrophically but characteristically out of touch with the chaos that their open-borders policies have created and dangerously desperate to restore order. Approximately 10,000 migrants, mostly Haitians, are now living in a shantytown under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. Still more are coming every day. They have traveled thousands of miles from countries including Chile, Bolivia, Peru, and Panama, responding to President Joe Biden’s irrespon...

Biden at the beach while migrants flood into south Texas

Miranda Divine: While the president took a long weekend relaxing at the beach in Delaware, another self-imposed crisis blew up in his face. The migrant shantytown under a concrete overpass in Del Rio, Texas, had ballooned to 15,000 souls, mainly Haitians. They were running out of food and water amid dangerously unsanitary conditions. With a pipeline of hundreds more flooding across the Rio Grande from Mexico every day, a humanitarian disaster was unfolding and the media were starting to pay attention. On Wednesday, 9,000 had arrived. By Saturday, 6,000 more had crossed the river with no impediment. The border was wide open. There wasn’t even a sign to stop them. They set up camp in the shade under the International Bridge and soon had overwhelmed the port-a-potties provided by authorities. They were sleeping on the ground under rough tents fashioned from sticks and trash bags, washing their clothes in the river. The garbage piled up, and some of the migrants took to crossing back ...

Biden to release illegals who are family units in Del Rio fiasco

Daily Wire: Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly going to process and release families into the U.S. that allegedly illegally entered the country in Del Rio, Texas, where a full blown crisis has been brewing for several days. Bill Melugin, a national correspondent for Fox News, wrote: “U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz says there are currently 12,600 migrants under the bridge in Del Rio.” He “[t]old me single adult men will be expelled via Title 42, but most family units will be processed and released into US w/ NTA (notice to appear),” he added. “For the migrants who are being expelled, repatriation flights have already started. The Mayor of Del Rio says he knows of several flights that have flown out of San Antonio already.” ... As a legal matter, this decision makes no sense.  Both groups are in violation of US immigration law and one is getting a pass and the other is getting a plane ride back to Haiti.  They all should be on the same plane....

Texas blocks migrant crossings near Del Rio

Breitbart: Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed a contingent of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol troopers to stop the free flow of mostly Haitian migrants from crossing the Rio Grande. The force of nearly 1,000 troopers and National Guard soldiers entered the makeshift migrant camp housing nearly 15,000 migrants under the Del Rio International Bridge. On Saturday afternoon, the troopers used vehicles and barbed wire to block access to a weir dam stretching the Rio Grande. The migrants utilized the dam as the primary crossing point from Mexico into the makeshift camp. As of late Saturday, the crossings had completely stopped after the DPS blocked access using vehicles and a rudimentary barbed-wire barrier. Just hours before, Breitbart Texas visited the camp by boat and  witnessed  the non-stop crossings of newly arriving migrants and those using the dam to bring in food and other supplies from Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila. ... There is more. This is a ...

How Biden administration handles migrants who vote Republican

Hot Air: DHS chief: Any Cubans or Haitians who flee to the U.S. seeking asylum will be resettled ... in other countries But what if they cross the southern border?  This is very telling about the Democrats' open borders policy.  It is clearly an attempt to import Democrats since not enough citizens support them.

A DEA connection to Haiti assassination?

RT: The US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) confirmed that at least one of the men arrested for the killing of Haitian President Jovenel Moise was their informant, according to CNN, while several others may have had ties to the FBI. Moise was gunned down at dawn last Wednesday by attackers who reportedly claimed to be DEA agents raiding his home. Responding to an inquiry by CNN on Monday, the agency officially denied that the attackers were acting on its behalf, but confirmed that “at times, one of the suspects” detained by the Haitian authorities “was a confidential source to the DEA.” Moreover, following the assassination, “the suspect reached out to his contacts at the DEA,” which urged him to surrender to the local authorities. The DEA and the US State Department “provided information to the Haitian government that assisted in the surrender and arrest of the suspect and one other individual,” the agency said. In a statement to Reuters, an unnamed law enforcement official sought t...

The unusual arrest of the alleged Haiti assassins'

Richard Fernandez: A lone security guard at the Taiwanese embassy in Haiti was responsible for the arrests of 11 suspects in the assassination of president Jovenel Moïse, after a group of heavily armed commandos invaded the diplomatic compound the evening after the murder. ... This is pretty remarkable considering how heavily armed the actual assassins were.

Haiti having trouble counting all its dead from hurricane

NY Times: Toll Rises by Hour in Haiti Amid Ruin Left by Hurricane Some estimates said that more than 800 people had died in the storm, and passage to many areas remained blocked, thwarting efforts to help survivors. Despite all the aid sent its way, Haiti remains a fourth world country run by inept governments that drift easily into corruption.  Then there is the aid that never really matches the promises made by people like Bill Clinton. What I find interesting is how successful some of those who fled this failed culture of Haiti have become as immigrants to the US despite the handicaps they have had to overcome.  From Mia Love to Whitney Mercilus, many of those who have embraced the US culture have been very successful.  They are a good example for blacks born in this country who waste their lives wallowing in self-pity.

Island of Hispaniola is a test case for culture and environment

NY Times: Dominican Plan to Expel Haitians Tests Close Ties Many in the Dominican Republic favor being part of a trend of tightening immigration. But for some, it means facing some difficult choices. The Haitian culture appears to be dysfunctional in the extreme on the part of Hispaniola controlled  by Haiti.  Environmentally it is also something of a cesspool.  Because Haiti does not have descent utilities the natives have deforested their portion of the island for wood used for cooking and heat.  In contrast the Dominican Republic on the same island which burns fossil fuels has a lush tropical environment and a much higher lifestyle.  In other words the two show the extreme downside of the anti energy left's view of using renewable fuel. Some Haitians who have migrated to the US have been remarkably successful from athletes to politicians.  But my experience when visiting the Caribbean is the Haitians standout from the native population as surly an...

Incompetent leadership is Haiti's problem not work ethic

Washington Post: Personal coaches help Haitians try to get out of poverty Mia Love's story of how her family immigrated to the US with $10, but her father refused to take public assistance because he wanted to work to make a living for his family tells you something about the work ethic.  It is something she inherited.  Two young NFL players also exhibit that work ethic.  Jason Pierre-Paul of the New York Giants and Whitney Mercilus of the Houston Texans are intelligent hard working players who are ferocious pass rushers on defense. But the political establishment in Haiti has been relentless corrupt and inept.  They occupy half the island of Hispaniola, but their half is barren and poverty stricken while the Dominican Republic is prosperous and thriving.  The culture of corruption has had a devastating effect on the people of Haiti.  That is the culture that needs to be changed. BTW, I enjoy watching HGTVs House Hunter's Intern...

Quacks don't mean the world is ending

Fox News: Folks who work at the United States Geological Survey Earthquake Center in Golden, Colo., don’t just track temblors, they also answer the public’s questions via phone and email. The number one question they’ve been getting lately: “Is this the end of the world?” according to Heidi Koontz, the center’s Public Affairs Specialist. News of four major quakes in as many months, in Haiti, Chile, Mexico and Indonesia, has prompted a tinge of panic in some who would otherwise consider these events pure coincidence. “I received a call from a psychiatrist who is getting an influx of patients who are really concerned about the end of days,” says Koontz, “and he wanted us to pinpoint science and provide him with links to science that would help allay the fears of some of his patients. He needed some hard facts and he said that that actually helped.” Koontz explained to the doctor what seismologist Harley Benz explained to Fox News. That seismically speaking, this is all p...
