So Sweet Of You

I have this post pre-scheduled, so I hope blogger works like a charm. I'm getting my gallbladder removed, so please say a prayer if you can that it will be uneventful. Thanks, friends.

I have a vintage shabby card today using some of my Want2Scrap staples: Nestaboard and Nestabling. It was posted earlier on the W2S blog. The gorgeous papers are by My Little Shoebox. The birdcage and sentiment are by The Craft's Meow (Fly Free and Simply Delightful sets, respectively) and stamped using Clearsnap inks.

I used my Spellbinders Classic Circle Die to die cut the rose lace and adhered it on the Nestaboard Fancy Tags Three. I then carefully added the Nestabling Fancy Tags Three - White Pearl. I just love these two together. For added effect, I added a small chipboard from the Card Size Antique Keys w/hardware - Chipboard set. A seam binding ribbon decorated with a paper rose finish the card.

Ink Splatter Card #3

I'm sharing the 3rd card in my Want2Scrap Silhouette - Old Time Tricycle with the Ink Splatter technique series of cards. This one is super simple. As with my first two cards, I used the silhouette as a stencil. I stitched the panel onto the card front.
W2S-Card3
I felt like those big wheels needed some bling, so I adhere some Want2Scrap Swirls - Silver Rhinestone - Package of 2 - 4" x 4" on top. Small strips of chipboard, lace and sentiment (from The Craft's Meow's Simply Delightful set) decorated with 3 rhinestones (from Want2Scrap Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones- Self Adhesive) finish the card.

Ink Splatter Card #2 and a Contest/Giveaway

If you came here for the Spellbinders' Summer Spectacular Blog Frenzy, please scroll down below or click HERE.

Hi, friends. I'm taking a computer break for several days, so this is a pre-scheduled post. In fact, I have a scheduled post almost every day. Let's hope blogger won't fail me :). While I'm away, let's have a giveaway, shall we? It's been a while since I had one and I missed my 3rd blog anniversary a couple of months ago.

Simply leave me a comment on my blog posts (one comment per post per person) from today until July 5th. I will pick 4 winners from the comments left on my blog to win the following prizes (one winner per prize).
Layers of Color's Sweet Silhouettes stamp set (retired)

A note about claiming your prize:
Everybody is welcome to comment and be eligible to win. I will announce the winners on  July 6 right here. Due to the number of prizes being given away on my blog and my dependence on my mom to do the shipping, I have to ask that the winners email (via Contact tab above) me with their info within 4 days (till July 10) in order to claim the  prize. This will help with organization and avoiding confusion. Thanks for understanding!

Finally, please consider liking the following Facebook pages.  The last 3 listed are companies that provided some of the prizes being given away today, so you don't miss the latest news and happenings:

Now onto my card...I'm showing you today my 2nd card using the Want2Scrap Silhouette - Old Time Tricycle with the ink splatter technique. As with my first card, I used the silhouette as a stencil. I just love the results, which give the illusion of multiple layers, esp with that collage patterned paper by Prima.
W2S-Card2
I layered the card front with Want2Scrap Manilla tag which was stamped with The Craft's Meow's Simply Delightful stamp set. I added small banner strips from paper scraps on top of that. The sentiment is Want2Scrap Chipboard Sentiments- Words of Love covered in white pigment ink. A vintage brad and some Want2Scrap Swirls, Finesse - Silver Rhinestones - 2 Pack - Self Adhesive finish the card.
W2S-Card2det
I have two more cards to show you using the same silhouette shape. In the meantime, enjoy your day!

Spellbinders™ Summer Spectacular! Day Three

Hello, friends. Welcome to Spellbinders Paper Arts’ Blog Frenzy for its Summer CHA 2012 Release. I hope you have been enjoying the projects the Spellbinders team has been showing so far. I am truly excited to be showcasing to you two of my Licensed Designs today. They are perfect for cards, scrapbooks, home décor and other projects.
I made these cards with gift giving in mind. The main elements on them were die cut magnet sheets that were embellished with paper and felt using the Homespun S4-142 dies. Not only are you giving away a handmade card, but also a handmade gift that the recipient can use every day at home.
Magnet cards
These are not difficult to make and can be easily mass produced using the different shapes of the Home Spun die set.
I first die cut magnet sheets, which you can purchase at any office supplies store. Or even better, you can upcycle the magnets you receive in the mail along with your junk mail, if you live in places where these are regularly sent to you. The magnet sheets die cut like butter in the Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur® machine! It took no effort at all. If you have no access to magnet sheets, you can use any magnet as long as it's smaller than the die cut. Simply attach it to the back of the die cut cardstock or patterned papers.

I then die cut patterned papers that I used to cover the magnet. This is the perfect way to use scraps of papers you have laying around your work desk.

If your magnet sheet is not thick enough, you can die cut heavy card stock to make your magnets sturdier, like I did here.

I adhered together all die cut layers (magnet sheet, cardstock and patterned papers), including the basket liner.

I embellished my assembled magnets with different elements, such as twine, bling and felt flowers, which were also die cut using the Home Spun dies.

I die cut a circle from heavy cardstock and adhered it to the almost finished card with foam tape. I adhered the magnet to the cardstock using repositionable tape.

The sentiments are from The Craft's Meow's Simply Delightful stamp set. The papers are by October Afternoon.

As you can see, it was not hard to make these at all. And I just love the results. Because the magnets were adhered using repositionable tape, it can be easily peeled off the card and placed on the refrigerator door. How about you? Do you make gifts to give away?

Speaking of gift giving, I made these ornaments using my other licensed design, Sweet Folk Art S5-141 dies. I die cut wool felt and stitched most of the cut pieces on them. If you prefer not to sew, any fabric glue or hot glue gun would work as well. These would be so fun to make, even with your kids. And what a special gift to give away when the whole family took part in the process!

Elegant Congratulations

I have an elegant Congratulations card for you today that I shared on the Want2Scrap blog a few days ago. It's perfect for the upcoming Graduation season. It's also appropriate for a job promo, engagement, wedding, and any other event that gives us an occasion to celebrate!

I used the Want2Scrap Fancy Tags two Nestabling and Nestaboard as a focal point to highlight the stamped sentiment, which is from The Craft's Meow's Timeless Tags set.
W2S-Card-NinaB-April9
The patterned paper was created using stamps from The Craft's Meow's Simply Delightful set. I accented the flower pattern with Copic markers. A wide silky black ribbon is all you need to finish the card.

Tomorrow is another NinaB Designs blog hop. I hope you will be able to join us. I've issued a great challenge to the team and I know you will love the inspiration and creativity they will share tomorrow! See you then!

So Sweet of You

I've been having some internet issues, so my posts are so off lately :). Today's card is for The Craft's Meow's sketch challenge. I used Season's Greetings for the frame (so it's good for non-holiday cards as well), which was cut with Spellbinders Labels dies, and Simply Delightful sets. the papers are Melissa Frances and the bling is Want2Scrap. I can't remember where I got the vintage image.
Sweet of You
This card is perfect for the Shabby Tea Room Winter Picnic challenge.
