Silhouette Thanks

I finally got on the Silhouette Cameo bandwagon. I have saved up birthday and Christmas money (Yes, I still get them :) for a long time and Amazon had a great deal a few months ago. I had all summer to play with it, but didn't have the chance to do it much until I returned to Croatia. I haven't been able to make successful cuts every time, but it's partially due to a defective blade (hopefully, the replacement is on its way here), partially user error. I have to fiddle around with the machine to get the right settings for the type of paper I have. It's not rocket science, I know, so I'll get there eventually. :)

I like that I can design my own cuts, which I already do anyway for Spellbinders and I love my SB Dies. But there are so much I like to do that don't get made into dies. Here is one example. The sentiment here is cut with my Silhouette. It's inspired by the Silhouette's current challenge. I weld the letters together for my sentiment. The papers are Echo Park. The pearls are Want2Scrap.

Here it is close up. I love the pop of blue with the dark pink background.

TCM Previews: Folk Art Blooms and Jar of Sunshine

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's May previews. Today we're showing two sets designed by yours truly :). First up is Folk Art Blooms, a set of fall florals such as sunflowers, dahlias and roses. I made a background using inks that coordinate the Echo Park patterned paper. The sentiment is from the second set, Jar of Sunshine.
TCM-Aug3
I highlighted the sentiment with some Want2Scrap bling.

My second card uses Jar of Sunshine (jar and sentiment) and Choose Hope (butterflies), the set showcased yesterday by the TCM Team.
TCM-Aug4
There was a blank space on the left, so I added strips of Washi tape to add interest. The butterflies were dotted with Want2Scrap pearls.

TCM Previews: Potted Garden, Cottage Garden

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's August previews. Today we're showing a couple of beautiful sets by TCM's new illustrator, my friend Clare Buswell. You will love these sets because it is so easy to make lovely cards with the sweet images in them! I have two cards for you today.

My first one uses the Potted Garden set. These flowers are so fun to color. Here, I did it with Copic markers. The papers are Echo Park. I also used twine and Want2Scrap strip of pearls to highlight the sentiment.

Here's a closeup of the potted geraniums with a cute little tag.

My second card uses Cottage Garden. With this set, you can create a gorgeous garden scene with the many varieties of images in the set. Clare also included some versatile sentiments with lovely fonts.

The card base is store bought from Hobby Lobby. I dotted the sentiment flag with a Want2Scrap pearl.

The Craft's Meow's August 2013 Blog Hop

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's August Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Summer. If you came from Karen's blog, then you're at the right spot. Please check the TCM blog for the complete list.
For todays' card, I used one of my favorite TCM stamp sets, Flower Garden and Circle It. I stamped them in colors that coordinate the Echo Park patterned paper. The flower was attached using my new favorite product, DODZ by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. That flower won't budge at all!
TCM-Aug-hop
I added some Want2Scrap pearls to highlight the sentiment and on the flowers.

For the first time, you can join the TCM team and enter the Summer challenge. Check the TCM blog for more detailed info! Your next stop is Sharri Seffens. Happy hopping!

Butterfly Thanks

Happy Memorial Day, US friends!

I hope you're not tired of my butterflies yet because I just love them! This one I shared on the Want2Scrap blog the other day. I use the Want2Scrap Swirls Silver Rhinestones for the flight path.
W2S-May-2
These swirls really add a special touch to any card. I finished the card with sticker and paper scraps, half a doily and pompom ribbon. This card is also entered in the Moxie Fab's Doilies and Lace Challenge.

Here's a close up of the butterfly from The Craft's Meow's Beautiful Spring. It's colored with Copic markers. I adhered the body using Glue Arts Adhesive Squares™ Brand Adhesives-ExtremeTac Minis.

The Craft's Meow Previews: For My Dad, Dads & Grads

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's preview week. Today we're featuring two beautiful masculine sets, For My Dad (which is probably my favorite set by my friend, Michelle Bertuzzi) and Dads & Grads by Kaitlyn Ord.

My first card showcases For My Dad. I love this image of stacked books and the glasses on top because it reminds me so much of my Dad. So, I made him this card from my girls for the upcoming Father's Day. I stamped the image and sentiments (one from this set and the Happy Father's day from my previous set, Mothers and Father) directly on the patterned paper.
Grandpa-deet
I die cut the left border with Spellbinders Edgeabilities and punched the small holes. The papers are all Echo Park's For the Record. Ric rac and buttons are the perfect embellishment for this masculine card. I love how vintage-looking this ended up, but with a modern touch.
Grandpa
For my next card, I used the same papers with Dads & Grads. I stamped and cut the tie and embellished it with a button.
Dad
I then added two of the sentiments from this set. I couldn't resist and I felt like it needed a bow. I believe it still looks masculine. What do you think? :)
