Happy brithday Flower

Something exciting happened last night...my girls tasted their very first Peeps! A friend is visiting from America and brought us some. I'm personally not a big fan, and I think my girls are like me. My policy is always, if I'm going to waste calories, I'd rather waste them on chocolate :-).

Today's card uses a technique that I learned from the Hero Arts blog called Stamp Layering. This card took me more than the usual 30 minutes or less, but I really enjoyed the process. The layering was inspired by LilyPad's Sunday Video. You need to check it out.

I used Hero Arts' Big Flower Pattern clear set and Envelope Pattern stamp, which I stamped on the polka dot patterned paper. The sentiment is SRM WGYS Happy. The green papers are by October Afternoon. The kraft patterned papers are Basic Grey Kraft.

The brown layers are patterned papers, while the green layer is stamped then colored with Copic markers. I used my new favorite white cardstock, Neenah Classic Crest, for Copic coloring that my friend Asela sent me. It blends so well. I'm entering this to Copic Creations challenge to use our favorite paper for coloring.

The colors are inspired by the Play Date Cafe's challenge. And I'm also entering this to Scrapbook & Cards Today's current challenge.

Another Plum Crazy Card

Okay, I just had to make this card for the Moxie Fab's Plum Crazy Challenge and Copic Creations challenge this week. I really love the Gold and Plum together. They're such regal colors. Though it's not a traditional Christmas color combo, I imagine the magi's gifts to Jesus had these colors.

The filigree image is a digi stamp from Layers of Color. I added the glaze using Crystal Lacquer. I got some old newsprint and did a ruffle on the bottom. The lace is from Walmart, ribbon is PTI. I used GinaK's Sweet Corn cardstock and Neutral buttons assortment.

Here's the shine on the image close up.

Happy Thanksgiving...

...to my Canadian friends! Croatia doesn't have an official holiday, but we celebrate it in our church with lots of good food, fellowship, and of course, thanksgiving to our God, who is the giver of all good things (James 1:17). Everyday should be thanksgiving day!

Today's card celebrates the holiday and follows the CardPatterns sketch this week, the theme follows Crazy4Challenges, the colored pumpkin follows the Copic Creations challenge, and fall colors follow Secret Crafter challenge. I love it when I can combine challenges!

The sponsor for CardPatterns is The Cutting Cafe. The randomly chosen winner will receive 3 digital stamp sets from them. I used one of their images, which was colored with Copics on my card. The sentiment is from Autumn Beauty by GinaK Designs. The papers I used are from my scrap stash, so I don't know who made them.

Come back on Monday when the GinaK Designs team starts a 1-1/2 weeks long of blog hops.

I haven't made one of these in a long time....

...a card using a digital image. This hydrangea was a freebie I offered that you can download HERE. This card follows the sketch from Flourishes Feel of Fall Challenge, just in time for their release next week. The flower is colored with Copics (RV14, RV13, RV10, YG95, YG93, YG93). These colors are my favorite combo to color with markers, perfect for the Copic Creations challenge this week.

Stamps: Hydrange digital image, Damask Designs (PTI)
Ink: Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: Hibiscus Burst, BG Eva collection
Others: MS lace punch, Ripe Avocado ribbon (PTI) and button

New beginnings Butterfly

I think by now you've noticed that I love butterflies. They are so fun to color. For this one, I used my favorite color combo to color. My favorite combo for cards in general are black/white and red/pink, but I like to add a splash of green in there sometimes to make some things pop. Because of this, I am entering this in the Copic Creations challenge right now to use your favorite color combo. The markers I used are RV17, RV14, RV13 and YG11.

The theme of the card follows the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week: new beginnings. The sentiment is just perfect for those undergoing changes (maybe even with hesitation) like retirement or moving away.

Stamps: Take Flight (GKD)
Ink: Memento Tux blk, Copics
Paper: Certainly Celery, Little Yellow Bicycle
Others: lace and silver pearls by Michael's
