I'm slowly recovering from the busy-ness of CHA, but feel so inspired by all the new products and people I met while there. I can't wait to play with the new products. :-)
In the meantime, I am so excited to show off today's cards for the special Gina K Designs Blast from the Past Hop. I have two cards to show you using three sets that were released in 2009. It was so good to play with these again.
The first card follows the elegant and classy style (perfect for Moxie Fab's Elegant Style contest) uses my Lord of the Season and Elegant Verses sets. The flower topiary was colored with Copics and accented with pearls. The verse was heat embossed with white.
This card uses my first GinaK Designs set, Special Fathers. The background diagonals is a PP by The Paper Studio. Doesn't it look like wall paper? The white strip is scored with a ScorPal to create the baseboard look.

The entire GinaK Designs team would like to invite you to the virtual Release party we'll be having this Thursday, August 5th on StampTV. It will be a bit different than our usual release party, but we'll still have challenges, contest questions, and designer samples that you won't want to miss out on! More information on that event will be shared by GinaK soon, so stay tuned to her blog for all the details this week.
I am so excited to show you my latest designs for GinaKD this month and I have so much to share with you. These are my works of {heart} that will be available for purchase at the GinaK Designs store on Thursday night at 10PM, CST, after the release party at SCS:
Heartily Yours stamp set - includes 11 images and 8 punny sentiments, perfect for Valentine, anniversary or any love-related occasion.
Heartily Yours Additions stamp set - includes 18 sentiments and 2 small heart images. I designed Heartily Yours Additions so that the images from Heartily Yours can be used all year and for other occasions, such as birthdays, get well wishes, friendship, encouragement, etc.
4 new Perfect Pattern templates: Heart, Flower, Car and Teacup Favor Boxes
I Love Hearts Digital Paper Pack - 8 heart patterns
For my first card, I used the two love birds and the coordinating sentiment from Heartily Yours set. The heart is from Heartily Yours Addition. The card base is Lipstick Red and the DP is October Afternoon Farm Fresh. I just love the red button center. It's from the new Romance Button Assortment.
Here is the inside of the card using another image and sentiment from Heartily Yours.
My second card shows my latest digital paper designs, I Love Hearts. The colors in this paper pack coordinate with many GinaK Designs cardstock colors (Innocent Pink, Passionate Pink, Cranberry Tart, Liptstick Red, Chocolate Chip, Black Onyx, Soft Sand and Rocket Red). The teacup is from Heartily Yours and the "What's brewin'?" sentiment is from Heartily Yours Addition.
This card also uses one of the 8 paper designs from I Love Hearts. The image is from Rupa's Sung from the Heart, the sentiment is from Heartily Yours Addition.
My next card uses the cool car image and coordinating sentiment from Heartily Yours.
Here is the inside of the card. I used the stamp stamps from Tami's Special Delivery set and "Sweetheart" is from my Special Fathers set.
My next two projects show the last two of the Perfect Pattern templates I have designed for this release (You can see the Heart Favor Box and Flower Favor Box on THIS post). This Car Favor Box coordinates with the card above and matches the car image in Heartily Yours. The birthday sentiment is from Heartily Yours Additions and will pair well with all the other images in Heartily Yours.
The fourth template I've designed is this Teacup Favor Box. It coordinates well with the teacup from Lovely Shelf, Heartily Yours, and Theresa's Purrr-fectly Delightful set. The sentiment, "I hope you perk up soon!" is from Heartily Yours Addition and goes well with a teacup and/or teapot image (from Lovely Shelf), as seen on the sample below.
I have lots more to share, but I'll stop right here. :-). The GinaK Designs crew is also previewing the new Free with Three set, Love Notes, tonight. Make sure you check out these designers' links for more inspiration:
This is another one for Cath's fun Around the House challenge to use household items as the focal point on your project. You can find more details on the Moxie Fab Blog.
I am hosting the StampTV's color challenge this week. I mentioned before how much I am loving the Soft Sand/Kraft CS at the moment. And red is my all-time favorite color, so here is the color combo I picked:
I printed Emily's Rich & Shabby digipapers on Kraft CS, distressed the edges and stitched it onto Chocolate Kiss. The clock is from my first GKD set, Special Fathers, and colored with Copics (E53, E57). I sponged a little bit of cream pigment ink on the clock to give it more depth. I just love that sentiment. Isn't that what card-giving is all about - to celebrate the recipient of your labor of love? :-)
I just found out yesterday that today is Grandparents' Day! I wish I had known earlier. In honor of the occasion, I made this card. It is special to me because it honors my girls' grandparents (I know it only says Grandfathers, but the Grandmas are included in there too :-)), mine and DH's parents who are all wonderful people. It's also special because it has an image of my own illustration, the very first one that GinaK ever produced.
This is for the Moxie Fab Around the House challenge. I stamped the clock on the brown patterned paper and cut it out. I scored a strip of ivory CS to make it look like a base board. The black patterned paper is actually digital(Rich & Shabby by Emily Giovanni for GKD). It's originally in red, but I printed it as black and white on kraft paper.
And here's a card my daughter, Gaby, made for her grandparents. She hand wrote the sentiment. She (and our whole family) just spent the summer with our parents and Gaby (as we all were) was sad to leave, so she'll hurry back to be with them again. Sorry, Moms and Dads, I didn't mean to make you cry :-). WE LOVE YOU!
Tomorrow night begins a blog hop for my latest GinaK Designs stamps, Elegant Verses. Make sure you stop by and get a chance to win it! Theresa's beautiful Autumn Beauty is going on now. Go to her blog for more information and inspiration. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Papers: Chocolate Kiss by GinaK, Certainly Celery by SU Inks: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa Others: Baja Breeze ribbon, button by PTI
I inked up my very first Unity stamps for the second card using the SCS Color Combo this week (Baja Breeze, Ruby Red and White). I stamped the leaf stamp from Gratitude = Joy with Baja Breeze. The sentiment is from Birdie Inspiration, stamped with Ruby Red ink.
I will be making a bunch of both cards (with different sentiments) to give away as presents.
I finally got to play with my Special Fathers stamp set by GinaK Designs. I had so much fun using these, especially since just several months months ago, these were just ideas in my head. When I drew this grandfather clock, I had my dad in mind because he loves them. And the wall clock is exactly like the one we have hanging in our Croatian home.
I'm entering this to Verve's It's a Guy Thing challenge. I'm an equal opportunity stamper and love Verve's style, too. :-) I'm determined to win some of their stamp sets. And I'm also submitting this to the Fun Frilled challenge to celebrate dad.
