I actually saved these images from last December because I forgot to post them before Christmas.

Also had a workshop with friends where we made Christmas lanterns from paper and card.

Sketchbook 50

This book is for my collection of paper cuts. These were mainly designed on my tablet, transferred to the computer, then brought into 'Make the Cut' as a pixel trace and then cut with my cutting machine. The machine is a KNK Zing Air. I've used a variety of papers and card.

Cut Work Book - Pages 19-24

I think the blade was incorrectly set or it became loose for the one on the right.

The design on the left came unstuck in places so didn't cut correctly.

The design doesn't show up very well sometimes on patterned paper.

I used maps, book pages, magazines, baking parchment, waste [weeds] from cutting machine, greetings cards, sequins.

Cut Work Book - Pages 13-18

The piece on the right is the middle of the left.

The settings were wrong for the white card so did not cut correctly.

Lots of errors on these two, the settings again I think. If I did them again I'm sure they would cut properly now I've had more practice.

Handmade Book - Pages 32-37

Double page spread. The fish background was created digitally and printed then painted. The statue was from a brochure [without the fish!]

Stamped background with found objects. The tree was reused from a greetings card.

Painted print, newspaper and paper, painted doily, waste form KNK cut.

Painted stamped background. The zebra was reused from a greetings card.

Map, the ships were from a brochure.

Great North Snowdogs

These are some of the snowdogs that have been seen in the area recently. There were 61 big and 97 small in total but I only saw these [plus one which I didn't photograph]. They are going to be auctioned to raise money for St. Oswald's Children's Hospice, details here. On the website you can also see all the dogs and the artists.
