Stars and Stripes & Thermofax Screen Printing
I did the above for the FAMM July challenge - stars and stripes. I used pen and coloured in with brush pens on paper and there are a few sequins on it too. I was going to translate it into fabric but I don't have the time.
Below are some samples I did with a thermofax screen on different fabrics. Thermofax screens are an option if you haven't got the room for the regular screen printing equipment. I got my own design put on the screen by sending a picture by email to Thermofax Screens. Their site has lots of information about the screens and they sell screens with images if you don't want your own picture.
I used the screen for the background on 'It's all L'

Pink Lilies and Screen Printed Dog
Aren't these lilies gorgeous, I took this picture a couple of days ago before all the rain and wind. It has been looking a bit like autumn in my garden, the wind was blowing all the yellow leaves off the trees and they were scattered all over the lawn.
I have posted a sample with this dog before, but these are different samples. They are screen prints on fabric, the dog has been cut out and appliqued with added beads. screen printed trees, with stitching & beads and a fabric flower with beads in the centre.
This one has been glued on and has sequins, screen printed background.

Flower Cake
A cake I did for a pre-wedding garden party for my daughter and fiance. It was raining when we first arrived but luckily it stopped almost immediately and we even saw the sunshine at times. A fun time was had by all.

Leafy Doodle & Illustration Friday
Illustration Friday challenge this week is 'breakfast'. I thought this old one from a sketch book would be ok as I probably wouldn't get a new sketch done this week.

Tast - weeks 19 & 20
Take a stitch tuesday week19 was Up & Down Feather Stitch. I've added a bit of lace and some French knots and put it into my altered book with all the other samples.
Week 20, this week, is Buttonhole Wheel Cup. I just did one large one with high sides. I can see that both of these stitches could be very useful.

The Hungry Caterpillars
I noticed a skeleton leaf on one of my plants the other day. I picked it because it looked so pretty and I was going to 'do' something creative with it - I haven't yet. Today I found out what was causing it - these very hungry caterpillars.
Some more skeleton leaves, although not as pretty as the one I picked.

Altered Book, mother & orange lillies
I took the picture of the lillies in my garden yesterday, they brighten up a shady corner. And below is a page from an altered book for my mother as it's her birthday.

Have a nice cup of tea!
Have a nice cup of tea, coffee or something cold if it's warm. I don't actually drink tea because I don't like the taste, but I do like drawing cups and t-pots!

Alphabet Doodle & Illustration Friday [Diary]
doodling with those plastic alphabet stencils
Below - Illustration Friday's word this week is diary. My effort is all to do with a date in August when my daughter gets married. Mixed media including a vintage picture which was stitched, a tatoo which I did with my daughter, some stamps [the one on the left of the diary is a vintage stamp], lace, music under the stamp.

My first try with GIMP
I had a little go for the first time with the GIMP program [which is free to download], the background was originally a photo of a big brown toad! The lizard was one of my older drawings which I placed on top. I can't remember what I did exactly as I was just messing about but there were 14 layers. I also wanted to get rid of the grey area round the edge but it wanted to remove other parts to so I left it. I've a lot to learn but I do like the resulting background.

Handmade Rolling Stamp
This is another rolling stamp from my collection. To make a similar one, draw the design on paper first to make sure the pattern flows correctly at the top and bottom i.e. where the join will be [measure the tube by wrapping the fun foam round it to get the correct length]. Then draw the design onto the fun foam, cut it out and stick it around a large stiff card tube [I used UHU or use the sticky backed fun foam].
Below are some of the papers I made using this stamp.

TAST week 18 Wave Stitch & a Rose
Take a Stitch Tuesday [a bit late this week]. The stitch is Wave Stitch and I did two samples. On one I have stitched one row of wave stitches and then stitched over them, slightly to one side in a different colour [DMC perle threads]. As usual I have put my samples in an altered book. If you would like to join in here is the link.
A photo I took of a rose in my garden wasn't that good so I thought I would 'mess' about with it
