TAST 51 and Fabric Samples

Take a stitch Tuesday - week 51 - Raised Herringbone Band.
I prefer stitches that grow quickly and this small sample seemed to take an age, so it is probably one that I won't use again. Click on the link above to see more samples.
I've stitched it in purple to go in another new journal. I've finished the green one, I'll post photos next week.

Below are the remainder of the Spoonflower fabric swatches.
I did have another version of all queens but I've altered this one for fabrics, the old one was better suited for a single placement such as a motif for a t-shirt.

This one is an altered doodle.

I have a larger version of this which is still available on Spoonflower, I thought it was more suitable for wallpaper or curtain fabric.

Another one using the doodle trees.

I had this one printed in with the last batch except it was bigger, I altered it so it would be more suitable for clothes and patchwork.

This one is actually altered snakes and a games board. The swatch looks very pretty.

This one was inspired by the tiles at the Alhambra Palace, Spain.
Have you got a favourite from the whole batch [30 swatches]?

Queen of Hearts [3M]

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas or holiday.
Today a new challenge from the Three Muses -Queen of Hearts.
I've done a new digital collage from old stuff I had. This queen was free hand machine stitching.

Also on the collage is a playing card, an altered playing card, drawing of queen and a drawing of a heart which was a brooch.
Some years ago I did this 3D piece which included a queen of hearts.
And as she was surrounded by tarts she became known by a new name..

All Queens Cushion

Another cushion finished. I created the queen design quite a while ago when I was at college and I've had a inkjet transfer print of it hanging around for ages so I thought I would use it. It was inspired by queens on playing cards. I also put on beads around some of their necks.

Above is the fabric, below is the original design, quite a bit brighter.

The same design is available on a t-shirt from my zazzle shop
If you would like this design on anything else that zazzle sell just let me know and I will see how it fits - no obligation to buy.

People Book [32]

Altered book, I also use the book to draw people in different styles.
The rows of queens you see in the background on the left page are collaged parts of business cards, the design on them was for a digitally printed fabric which I did when I was at college. There is another collaged peice on the right page of another fabric design, this one is not very clear so I've another picture of it below. They were both inspired by playing cards.
