From Sketch to Fabric - Ladybirds

I started with ink drawings of ladybirds, flowers and leaves in my little sketchbook.

And a painted background.

The drawings were also painted.

And then everything was transferred to the computer, where I separated everything and made lots of layers in Photoshop. Then everything was arranged and rearranged until I was happy [enough] with the repeating pattern I had made.

I sent for a fabric sample from Spoonflower using their new fabric, Petal Signature Cotton. I altered the scale for the fabric because I wanted the bugs to look small so it would suit a small child.

Animal Collages and Rolling Stamps 76-82

Three collages above - watercolour backgrounds and wax crayon, found images, some altered.
It has been a while since I posted any rolling stamp ideas, but now Cloth, Paper Scissors have released a free eBook download
called "The Workshop: Roll Out the Backgrounds" and you get four articles about art stamps and stamp carving which includes my article on the rolling stamps.
Some ideas for you to try
