DIY Drinking Straw Holder

Hey, everyone!

The weather is turning warmer again this week and I am so glad. Last week was pretty chilly most days. When the temperatures start rising I think about staying hydrated! There are four beverages that I drink consistently and they are Diet Coke, Big Red, sweet iced tea, and water. I do not drink as much sweet tea now as I used to and I am trying really hard to cut out the soda, which makes it easier to drink more water. There are so many wonderful benefits to drinking water but I do not drink as much as I should. However, I find that when I drink water using a straw I tend to drink a lot more!

Straws are relatively inexpensive but I found a package of straws at the Dollar Tree for only one dollar: definitely budget-friendly! The straws are not individually wrapped so I wanted to find a storage solution where the straws wouldn't get dirty. It was a challenge to find something tall enough or big enough to fit all the straws but then my daughter suggested I use an empty cotton candy container. I tried one straw to see if it would fit and it was perfect! So I made a video... it's only a couple of minutes long, to encourage you to repurpose something headed for the trash and find a new use for it! I hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks for watching the video. If you enjoy these kinds of videos, please let me know! Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel. Leave me a comment below of your favorite trash-to-treasure item! Have a wonderful day!
