CC53

Hey, everyone!

Next Monday I will have a new Color Combo Motivational to share with you but I thought it would be fun to show you a couple more cards using last week's Color Combos. I used the Build-A-Flower stamp set for these customer thank you cards. If you don't remember the colors we used before you can check out this post.
Let me know if you have created a card using these colors, or if it has inspired you to create a card with this stamp set! I'd love to see it!

CC53-April 5, 2010

Hey everyone!

I had great intentions of sharing my Scripture Challenge page with you all yesterday but the Easter festivities kept me "hopping" (LOL) and I was unable to share! I will post it next Sunday I promise!

Today is the start of a new Color Combo Motivational at Paper Wings. If you are an Angel you should check it out! If you are not an Angel, you can still head on over to the gallery and check out the amazing projects that are sure to inspire you! Here is the color combo I selected:
I am using Burnt Sienna for the Rust color; Orangerie next, Landscape, Jardin Moss and Starry Night. These are all Palette Hybrid inks! I am also using white cardstock. Here is the card I came up with:
I created a background with the Build-A-Flower stamp set. The tags I made with my Sizzix machine and held them together with the orange flower brad. Isn't it cute? I stamped the sentiment in Starry Night. Want a peek inside?
I usually do not go all out for the inside of my card. Very often I won't even add a sentiment until I know who I am giving the card to. This is really fun because I just placed the flower and stem at the bottom of the card. I added Prisma Glitter to all the flowers and leaves on this card for a little extra shimmer! Hope you enjoyed today's Color Combo Motivational. Be sure you let me know if you use these same colors on your next project!

Hey, everyone!

I wanted to give you the new colors for the Color Combo Motivational. I selected Prussian Blue, Charcoal, Sunflower and White. I hope you will play along. Leave me a link to your card!
The stamps I used here are Circle Sampler and Build-A-Flower by The Angel Company. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. Since Christina and Donna were the only two to take my Color Combo Motivational offer...I am awarding them both a prize! Thank you ladies for playing.

St. Patrick's Day is next week! I am so excited. It's one of my most favorite holidays. My kids and I will be making cookies with green frosting again this year. Love that cookie making tradition. I think I will be going HERE for more fun ideas to celebrate! I am also having a FunShop for June L. on Wednesday so I am definitely looking forward to that!

I got three new FREE digital stamps. They are super cute. Click HERE to pick them up for yourself and don't forget to take a peek to see what other stamps they have! Super fun!

I still have a few stamps for sale. Be sure to check it out HERE to see what is left. They are going fast! I will have more up in a couple weeks!

February Card Class

Hey, everyone!

Wednesday was my monthly card class and we had a lot of fun!! I wanted to share those projects with you today! First of all this month ends the Hostess Club. It typically runs for three months but only two signed up and managed to get enough orders to fulfill their commitments. I created some "thank you" notes and gifts for Karen and Donna. The paper is Miss Moxie and the sentiment is from The Angel Company's stamp set Build A Flower.
These are the projects we made in class.
This Window Box Treat Holder was requested by June L. She wanted to learn how to make these. I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to make the marshmallow pops for everyone but I shared the links with them so they can make them and they were glad to have that information! Julie Griffith from Paper Jewels is the creator of this sweet project. You can find out more by visiting her website here.
I used the Hip Hop Designer paper for the front of the window box. The candy and sentiment box are both from the TAC stamp set Sweet Goodies. The scalloped squares are punches from TAC.
Donna was this month's hostess and she saw a flower pot card I had made some time ago. She wanted to make one, too, so this is what I came up with!
The "flower pot" is sponged in Cognac Palette Hybrid Ink, the flowers are created with the Cricut. I saw Laurie W.'s post here and loved how she left a point on each petal. I thought it was such a unique look. So I attempted to something similar here but in hopes of turning green flowers into green leaves! The sentiment is brand new from The Angel Company in our new Serendipity Street. It's called Dream Come True and it's only $5.95 for 4 sentiments! LOVE THAT!
I had never made an easel card before but I have seen them all over the place lately! I wanted to use the bumblebee from this really fun Hostess Level A stamp set called Swirled Spring Life from TAC. I went with a black and yellow color scheme to go with the bumblebee. The Thinking of You sentiment and octagon shapes are from my Cricut. The white and black squares are as well. Talk about easy work for making kits!! Press a button and watch it work for you with perfect lines everytime! I used my clear stardust glitter gel pen for a shimmery effect and the shape of the "stopper" on the card is reflective of a honeycomb! I really love this card. The "hello" also shimmers and it is from the Trendy Greetings stamp set.
Last, but certainly not least, is this sweet little chick card! Isn't this image adorable? It is also brand new from Serendipity Street. This stamp set is called Easter Chicks. You get 7 images including a sentiment for only $10.95!! I used my Tombow Brights and Stardust Glitter Gel Pens to color him in. I outlined him with my Gray Tombow marker. I just love the way it adds some dimension. The paper is Angelee. I think it goes so well with the colors of the egg. The white gel pen I used for faux stitiching and doodle dots ties it all together! I created this card from this sketch. You might remember I used it for this card, too. Hope you will let me, or your Angel if you have one, know if there is anything we can do for you! Happy crafting and don't forget to go HERE for my drawing! The winner will be announced Monday, March 8, 2010.

Card Class TODAY!!!!

Hey, everyone!

I made some thank you notes for my customers this month. I asked my daughter which ink to use with my new PWP stamp and she said Orangerie and I loved it! I grabbed some white cardstock, black cardstock and my now retired paper pack Finger Paints. I love the bright colors in that pack! This thank you card looks very fall-ish, huh? LOL This stamp is only $2.95 with any $30 order and while the Double the Fun Promotion is going on, you can purchase TWO PWP for every $30 order!
I am having a card class at my home today! There are six ladies coming and I am so excited! I can hardly wait! Here are the cards we will be making.
The card on the left is using the Good Timber stamp set and Burnt Umber Palette Hybrid Ink. The designer paper is Amberley Grace.
The card on the right features the Sweet Goodies and Tag Tidbits stamp sets. I stamped the "box image" in Burnt Umber and the sun image and sentiment in Orangerie Palette Hybrid Ink. The designer paper is Amberley Grace as well. I used my circle punch and two scalloped square punches. All is available from The Angel Company.
These are the other two cards we're making today! I used the Gerbera Daisy stamp for the focal image. I stamped it in L'Amore Red and Viridian Leaf Palette Hybrid Ink. The sentiment is from Build-A-Flower and I stamped it in the same ink colors.
The card on the right is another Amberley Grace designer paper card. I stamped stars from the Wild West stamp set and the Just A Note sentiment is from Tag Tidbits. All can be purchased from TAC.

If you would like to purchase a card kit for these four cards, leave me a comment or e-mail me at hoosier_card_angel@yahoo.com and I will be happy to get these mailed out to you. The cost is $10 for the kit if you are local and can meet me for pick up. If you would need these mailed out it would be $10 plus shipping costs. I do accept paypal but no credit cards please.

Have a great day!

Back 2 School

Hey, everyone!

Yesterday was my baby girl's first day of SECOND GRADE! That hurts to even type that!! Wow! Where has the time gone? Kadesia's grown sooo much over the summer and was so excited for the first day of school. She was counting it down and then the night before school was very nervous! We prayed together the morning of her first day before school and she felt much better! Here are some photos of her in the kitchen before the school bus came...

It started to rain a little this morning but thankfully it had stopped by the time the bus came! She is looking out the window towards her great-grandma's house. She was watching for Kadesia to get on the school bus!

This is the messenger bag my mom bought her for ONE DOLLAR on clearance! I absolutely love it!! She added velcro to keep it closed and sewed the handle down so it would fit her shoulders just right.

She looked so cute in this outfit! Her mamaw bought it for her but Kadesia picked it out. I think she looks so sweet!
Did any of you see the commercial on t.v. where the girl is going to school and she is nervous and her mom puts a card in her backpack and the little girl reads it when she is on the school bus and all the butterflies fly out the window? Well, Kadesia saw that and mentioned it to me a couple weeks ago so the night before her first day of second grade, I decided to make a card for her, too. She saw the teacher's gift on her bag and asked if I had made her teacher a card, too. I said no and that it was for her. She was so happy! Here's the card I made using the Build-A-Flower Stamp Set which is available through TAC. I used L'Amore Red and Viridian Leaf Palette Hybrid Ink. I also used my Clear Glitter Gel Pen for some shimmer on the flower and then using my plastic canvas heart template and a push pin I pierced holes in the top left corner. I used my black marker to give each hole more depth.
She said she wanted to read it on the bus. Then she said she really wanted to read it before she got on the bus so I told her to go ahead! LOL
You think she liked it?
She told me she read it twice more on the bus! LOL She had a really good first day back and then off to gymnastics, so she was very tired! After a relaxing bath she was eager to go to sleep! Today is the start of another day.... LOL

Hugs,
