CCC04/10

Hey, everyone!

If you are just visiting my blog for the first time, welcome! Each Thursday I share pictures of my Christmas cards. I took the Christmas Card Challenge at Paper Wings and each month I make 4 cards. The theme for this month is sparkly, shiny, you know...BLING! So here is my sparkly Christmas card.

The sentiment and image are stamps from The Angel Company but they are no longer available. It was fun to use a non-traditional color combo and create a snow scene with my glue pen and Prisma Glitter. I would have waited until the glue dried better before snapping the photo but I am late as it is to get this done!

Scripture Challenge CREATOR

Hey, everyone!

Today's Scripture Challenge page features the word CREATOR. My thoughts kept turning back to my trip to the Creation Museum. I loved it and highly recommend going if you haven't already! I am so ready to go back anytime!! First let me show you my page and then I will share a little bit about it!

This is an 8½"x11" layout. I am using some paper I had in my stash. The title is alphabet die cuts I bought a LONG time ago!! It's been many years since I bought alphabet stickers or dies since I can make my own. The stars are from the HELLO SUNSHINE stamp set that is no longer available. I know I keep using this set but it's adorable!!! The stars are stamped in Sunflower Palette Hybrid ink. The sentiments are from the TREASURE SEEKER stamp set and is available for 25% off right now! It's on the list to be retired which makes me super sad because I love, love, love this set! My scriptures are all in New King James Version. They are:

Genesis 1:1

John 1:1-5

Isaiah 40:28

1 Peter 4:19

I think the patterned paper really adds a lot to the page. It makes me think of God's creation! I saw a video on GodTube that I really want you to watch! It's amazing!!! It goes along perfectly with this week's theme and I think you will be blessed by watching it. I learned something new from watching it and the message is very clear to me that God is definitely my CREATOR!!!!

Be sure you stop by Christina's and be blessed by what she is sharing today!

You Are A Gem!

Hey, everyone!

I wanted to make a simple project, something that was quick and easy! I am still not feeling well so I wanted to do something that wouldn't take a lot of time. I thought I'd try to make some ATC's. ATC for those of you who don't know stands for Artist Trading Cards. These are only meant to be shared and swapped, never sold. The size of the ATC's are 2½" x 3½" and you can make them in portrait or landscape position.

I thought these would be especially cute for my daughter to make for her pen pals this month. Each month she writes to new pen pals and she answers letters from pen pals she already has! We try to come up with a neat card for her to make for each girl and with a long list of pen pals, plus a little girl who gets distracted pretty easily (LOL), I think this might be just the project for her.

I used Black Cardstock, Gentle Beginnings paper (retired), and Premium White Cardstock all from The Angel Company. The stars are from the HELLO SUNSHINE stamp set that was available last month! I am still lovin' this set! I used Reflection Blue Palette Hybrid Ink for the stars. The black ribbon is something I already had in my basket. The sentiment is from one of my most favorite stamp sets TREASURE SEEKER and it is being retired soon! If you don't have this set, I would highly recommend it. It's got a lot of great sayings in it and right now it's 25% off! I will definitely continue to use this set over and over!

Thanks for checking out my blog today! I hope to have more fun things to share with you over the weekend! Enjoy your day!

One Sheet Wonder

Hey, everyone!

I had never tried to make cards using the OSW templates before so I tried tonight and it was fun! I have all my pieces cut and I assembled 3 of the cards and wanted to share them with you! I'm using the Treasure Seeker stamp set that is currently on our list of retiring stamps, so if you have this one on your wish list grab it while you can! I love this particular stamp set because of all the really great sentiments. I have used this set numerous times since I got it and this will be one set I hate to see go but I will definitely be hanging on to my set! Whether I am doing faithbooking, card making or other paper crafting, this is one set I go to a LOT!

For those of you new to paper crafting, OSW stands for One Sheet Wonder. There are lots of templates out there to choose from! You take a sheet of designer paper (either 12x12 or 8½x11), or you can create your own designer paper with rubber stamps and ink, and using a template you cut your designer paper so you can get several cards out of that one piece of paper! I will be having a class for this in June so be watching for the details!

I hope you enjoy these three cards today. I will be sharing more of these cards from time to time! Hope you'll check back tomorrow! Let me know what you think of these cards. Don't forget you only have until Sunday to place your orders for this month, so if you want to order any of the specials, be sure you let me know before time runs out! Thank you to those who have already ordered this month. I hope you enjoy!

Fun Share!

Hey, everyone!

I have some fun stuff to share with you all! My friend, and fellow Angel, Mary, knows that I have had some personal issues that were going on lately and was having a rough time. She not only sent me an encouraging message on the forum at Paper Wings but she also was kind of enough to send me a RAK. Would you look at this awesome package? I love it!!!! I was so excited when I opened it and was looking through it. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MARY!!!! What a great treat! That little flip flop is so cute! I could go on and on but you can see how awesome this is!!!

Shelly had a FunShop on Saturday and let me tell you...she and her family put the FUN in FunShop! I had so much fun. I am looking forward to doing it again next month!! THANKS, SHELLY!!! Here are the cards I came up with for us to make. The first card features the WILD WEST stamp set which is 50% off today but tomorrow goes back to the original price! I used my Tombow markers, Stardust Glitter Gel Pens, Gray Tombow marker, and Treasure Seeker stamp set which is also half price today only.

The next card features the Gerbera Daisy stamp. I love it! I colored it in using my pink Tombow marker and got the two-tone effect using the blender pen that comes with the set. The image was inked using Belle Rose and Water Lily Green. The edges were sponged with Belle Rose ink. The strip of designer paper is from the Winterberry collection.
I wish you all could have been there to see all the cards these ladies made. They are very talented and I loved to see what they came up with!!!
Don't forget to check back tomorrow because we will have the last StampTACular Tuesday challenge of the month! Can you believe January is nearly over? I am surprised at how fast this month has gone! I will have one more project to share with you featuring An 'Udder Birthday stamp set. It's so cute and I just had to share with you all just how versatile it really is. I will pick a new stamp each month! Tomorrow I will tell you what stamp set we've chosen for February! See you tomorrow. Hope you'll leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Some of you wanted to place your order today to take advantage of the 50% off sale. Just give me a call and I look forward to taking care of that for you!

WATERFALL CARD TUTORIAL

Hey, everyone!

Are you all ready to make a Waterfall card? I thought these looked so cool but I was a little intimidated to try one! I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did! It really was so much fun and so easy to do! We can make one together! Let's begin!

The first thing you want to do is get all your supplies gathered up. Here's what you will need:

1 piece solid color cardstock measured at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
4 pieces of white measured at 1 7/8" x 1 7/8"
4 pieces of solid color cardstock measured at 2" x 2"
1 piece of coordinating cardstock measured at 5 1/4" x 4"
1 piece of solid color cardstock measured at 9" x 2"
1 piece of solid color cardstock measured at 3/4" x 4"

The second step will be to adhere the coordinating cardstock to the solid color cardstock base. You will also stamp your image on the white squares at this time. I am using a stamp from the Good Timber set (p. 44) and Palette ink spot (p. 117). You can add doodle dots or squiggles around the edges of your squares if you want, or sponge the edges.

Next you will adhere all the white squares to the solid color squares. Then score your 9" x 2" strip of cardstock at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2" & 4 1/4". Fold along the score lines.

We will now attach our strip of cardstock measuring 3/4" x 4" to the lower portion of our card. Using the crop-a-dile, I will set the brads to hold the strip in place. The crop-a-dile (p. 115) is a wonderful tool that I would rather not be without. It has also made setting eyelets so easy for me and I can punch holes through fabric, cd's and other thick objects that ordinary hole punches won't allow me to do.

Next, we will insert our long strip with the score lines on it. Be sure that the top fold of the strip doesn't stick out at the top of the card. Once you decide where you want the slider to go, hold it in place and carefully add a strip of adhesive the width of the slider on TOP of the horizontal strip we just set with brads.

Now we are ready to start adding our squares to the slider. Only put your adhesive on the top of each square. You do NOT want to apply adhesive to the entire square! Starting at the bottom of the slider, you will attach the square to the bottom score line.

Continue adhering all of your squares to the slider. You can test it out now to make sure it is working properly for you.

We are nearly done, now! You can take your circle punch and centering it along the bottom edge of the card, punch a semi-circle so you can get ahold of the slider better. For our final step, punch a hole at the bottom of the slider and insert an eyelet. After setting your eyelet, add your ribbon.

You can add a sentiment to the slider at this time if you want! I used a stamp from the Treasure Seeker stamp set (p. 64).
Ta-da! You are all finished and now you have a beautiful waterfall card! So fun and so easy to do.

If you have made one of these cards using today's tutorial, I would love to see it! Please leave me a comment and let me know where I can see yours at! As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! You can e-mail me at hoosier_card_angel@yahoo.com and I will be sure to e-mail you back!
Tomorrow's tutorial will be for the Shaving Cream card we made in my class at Memory Lane Scrapbooking. It was a lot of fun to make the cute little cupcake cards! Tomorrow we will be featuring this technique a little differently!

Have a great day!

Bridgett

CHECK OUT MY NEW TOTE BAGS!!!

Hey, everyone!!!

Guess what I am so eager to show you??? My new tote bags from Daily Window Bags! These are soooo roomy, so nice and plenty of pockets! I love how I can display my artwork in the front of the bags. If you aren't crafty, you could always add a picture in the window and it gets zipped inside, so there's no worrying about what will happen to your beautiful cards and photos!!! Here are the photos of mine, but you HAVE to go check them out!!!

They are beautiful and I am so eager to make some artwork to carry for both of mine! The bags are even cuter in person!!!! THANK YOU DAILY WINDOW BAGS!!!!!! Click on the graphic on the right side of this page to go straight to the website!!

Here's two cards my daughter made using the Scor-Pal to make the gate-fold cards. She did a great job! And bless her heart for using up all my extra punches!!! Yay! She made her dad the card on the left and mine is the one on the right!

And before I go, I wanted to share a few cards I made today! Since the weather is a little more chilly here, it kind of reminded me of fall...my favorite season!!! So, I made a fall-ish looking card and am very pleased with it!

Thanks for looking!

My First TAC Appearance!

Hey, everyone!

I had a really fun time at Monyca's church tonight. All the ladies were so friendly and nice! I am eager to see how well Monyca does with orders, so she can get DOUBLE free!!! That is always a fun thing!!

Since most had never scrapped before, I decided to come up with a couple pages that were similar but weren't too overwhelming for someone just learning to do papercrafting. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and I know I certainly did. It was so nice to meet so many ladies and they were so happy to get to play with my stamps and punches and tools! I even showed one lady how to use the Scor-Pal and she thought it was really great! I know I love it!!! You have to get one of these if you don't have it. This tool is so awesome and there is so many different things you can do with it!

I didn't take any photos of tonight's meeting. I was a little nervous and was so busy helping others, but it was a blast! I hope we can do that again sometime! I can't leave you without any photos, though! So I'll share the two pages I made to demonstrate this evening! Hope you enjoy these!!!

I used the TAC Scalloped Circle Punch, GWP Swirl Stamp, and Family Is Forever Stamp Set in the top photo.
I used TAC Scalloped Circle Punch, Gray Tombow Marker, Treasure Seeker Stamp Set, His Angels Stamp Set, and Family Is Forever Stamp Set in the bottom photo.
And one final happy note...a very generous lady gave us a donation for our Relay For Life!!! I am so excited about that! If you haven't reserved your spot yet, just call me today. If you can't go to the STAMP OUT CANCER and CROP FOR A CURE fundraiser May 17, then consider donating online. All gifts are tax-deductible and it will be greatly appreciated by the Hoosier Stampers. You can purchase a $10 luminary in MEMORY OF or in HONOR OF someone you love! E-mail me for more information or go here to donate today!

Thanks for checking back with me. I hope you'll pop in again soon and see what other creations this Hoosier Card Angel can come up with!! Until then, happy paper crafting!

Hugs,
Bridgett
