We interrupt the usual Wednesday posting....

Hey, everyone!

I have a card class today in my home. We're making 4 cards and I hope they have as much fun creating them as I did! I know this is supposed to be my usual Wednesday Kinda Sketchy post but I decided to share this with you instead.
This is a Faux Pinwheel card. The sentiment says "hello there" and it is from Tag Tidbits by The Angel Company. The designer paper, Amelia, is from TAC, as well.
I had a lot of fun creating this special card! It's a Joy Fold card featuring two stamp sets in Serendipity Street. The cupcake is from Little Cupcake and I used my Stardust Glitter Gel Pens to add the shimmer!
When you open it up, it says Cupcakes make everything better! This sentiment is from For Someone Special. You get 8 of these sweet sentiments for only $5.95!! The paper is Reece which is on special this month! You buy one pack and you get another one free!
You know how much I love the More Mimi double sided designer paper we carry! This is a really great technique to use this paper with. It's an Origami Faux Shadow Box fold. Super easy to do! The sentiment is from Celebration Time and stamped in Belle Rose ink. I added some sparkle with the Stardust Glitter Gel Pen.
Mother's Day is next month and I know exactly who I want to give this card to. In real life it is super shimmery and I love, love, love it! The butterfly is from Butterfly Swirls. I stamped it on Angelee and paper pieced it, then fussy cut it out. I added some Scrapper's Floss to the back of the butterfly to replace the antennas I cut off. I colored it with my black Tombow marker. Love that I can do that with my white Scrapper's Floss. The sentiment is from Trendy Greetings and I used the clear Stardust Glitter Gel Pen on it, too. The butterfly is up on a pop dot for added dimension. I curled the wings up and inward slightly. I love it!
If you didn't sign up for this class but would still like a kit, the cost is $10, plus s/h if I need to mail it out. Hope you have enjoyed today's post. I will be back tomorrow!

CC50

Hey, everyone!!

Today's card is for the Color Combo Motivational over at Paper Wings. Every other week I come up with some colors we can play with and it's so much fun to see everyone's creations. One of my favorite things about paper crafting is that we can use the same colors, the same materials, sometimes, and yet come up with unique projects that are so different! This is my second time to be the hostess but it is the 50th motivational so in honor of that I am offering a prize at Paper Wings for any of the Angels who participate! The more projects they share using these colors only, the more chances they will get for the drawing. If you are an Angel and want to be included in this drawing, be sure you go to Paper Wings and share your project in the gallery. If you are NOT an Angel but you would like to play along, leave me a comment on THIS post and you will be entered into another drawing! I will choose a name from those of you who leave me a link to your project using ONLY these three colors: SUNFLOWER, FRENCH LILAC and WHITE. Since some of you may not have these particular hybrid palette ink colors, you can use another form of yellow or purple BUT you must ONLY use TAC stamps!!
This card uses our Premium White cardstock. I love it!! The cardstock is a piece of yellow I had in my scrapbooking papers so I grabbed it. I used a border punch that I purchased at Walmart for a fun decorative edge. The flowers, sentiment and little butterfly are all from the PWP stamp set called Lotsa' Love from TAC. It's only $2.95 with any $30 purchase! It has another sentiment and some leaves with it! A great value and so fun! I paired it up with my bigger butterfly from Butterfly Swirls. I love this stamp set! I outlined my little butterflies and some of the features on the bigger butterfly with my purple Stardust Glitter Gel Pen. So shimmery!
Here you can see the wings! I stamped the top wing a second time, cut it out and attached it with pop dots for more dimension. I added some glue and Prisma glitter to the wings. They really sparkle and then I curled the wing tips up for more effect. I like it! The glue isn't quite dry in this photo but I was impatient! LOL I look forward to seeing all your creations and hope you will leave me your links!

Final Card Class of 2009

Hey, everyone!

We had a great time making 4 cards during the final card class of this year! If you would like to purchase a kit they are $10, plus shipping if applicable. The first couple of cards are the thank you cards my customers will receive this month. So far my customers have loved these! This is our amazing double-sided More Mimi SWIC paper from The Angel Company. I love these poofy, layered flowers, don't you? The sentiment is from the Trendy Greetings set and it's stamped in Belle Rose ink.
The first card we made today was a pocket card. These are super easy to make and really fun! The possibilities are seemingly endless with things you can do with this type of card.
Here is the pocket insert.
The second card we created was a thanksgiving card in honor of the fall season, which happens to be my most favorite!!! I love it! The ladies in the card class today actually left their image stamped in Burnt Umber, then sponged over and it looked so classy! Each took a couple images home with them to play around with colors and things later! They outlined the burnt umber image with the clear gel pen.... love that pen! Those adorable circles in the background are a Level A Hostess set and inked with Orangerie. I am so glad I got it! It's great!! The other stamp set used is Give Thanks.
The third card was also a Thanksgiving card and I absolutely love it! The mug is also a Level A stamp set and was inked in Burnt Umber. I used my Tombow markers, a Copic marker, and my glitter gel pens to color in the mug. The swirls are from Butterfly Swirls and I added some sparkle to the steam with my glitter gel pen. The mug was stamped on the cardstock, then stamped again and cut out. I popped it up with pop dots for added dimension and I love it! The paper is the Amelia collection from TAC.
The inside sentiment was also stamped in Orangerie. It is from the Delicious Fall stamp set.
The last card we made together was another Christmas card. I really like the sentiments. This card features Reece paper from The Angel Company. The sentiment on the front is stamped in Jardin Moss and is from the Inspirational Sayings stamp set.
The inside is also from the same stamp set and using the same ink and paper collection! I hope you've enjoyed and wish you were there to join us!
Thanks for hanging out with me today! I hope you will be inspired to create something special today, too!

World Card Making Day

Hey, everyone!

It's World Card Making Day! I am so excited to share this card with all of you. If this is your first visit with me at Hoosier Card Angel's Creations, I want to thank you for coming and welcome you back again! Please leave me a comment and let me know this is your first visit! There are lots of card makers sharing their great creations with you today. Click on the WCMD banner to see all the links!
I wasn't sure what card to make today so I used a sketch from Mojo Monday:
Here is my interpretation for this week's sketch:
I used stamps from The Angel Company to create my card (Sprigs, Butterfly Swirls and Trendy Greetings). I embossed the swirls and sentiment with VersaMark and black embossing powder. I rounded the corners on the piece I attached ribbon to using my Corner Chomper on the ½" side. The swirls and sentiment have some dimension with pop dots raising these panels up. The ink I used is Orangerie and the designer paper is now retired from TAC.
I had fun showing you my card today. Leave me a link to your card, too, so I can check it out! If you're in, or near, Bedford, Indiana today from 1 p.m. until around 3 p.m. feel free to come by my house. You can call or e-mail me for directions. I'm having a FREE stamping event in my home. Hope to see you there!

StampTACular Tuesday Challenge

Hey, everyone!

With spring finally here, I decided to make a fun treat bag. I am using the Butterfly Swirls stamp set and added shimmer with my Prisma Glitter and Stardust Glitter Gel Pens. This is a cute bag that would make fun party favors!

To make a treat bag like mine, simply cut your designer paper to measure 10½" x 5 7/8". Place the paper lengthwise on your Scor-Pal and score at 1", 2", 5", 6", 7" and 10". Rotate your paper widthwise, lining up the left side of your paper to the 3/8" mark on your Scor-Pal and score at 1" and 5". Fold your score lines and adhere them together. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch two holes in the top and ran some satin ribbon through and tied in a bow. Let me know if you need a more detailed tutorial and I will share one.

If you make a treat bag, I'd love to see it. Please leave me a comment with the link! As always, on Tuesday, my dear friend Christina has participated in the StampTACular Tuesday Challenge. Be sure you check it out and leave her some love! Tomorrow I will share my Scripture Challenge scrapbook page with you all!

Hugs!!

StampTACular Tuesday Challenge

Hey, everyone!

Today's post is a little late...okay, a lot late! LOL But it's better late than never, right? I had made this card a week ago and just hadn't scanned it in. This card is using the Butterfly Swirls stamp set. This is the last Tuesday of this month so that means this will be the last StampTACular Tuesday Challenge for February. I hope you have enjoyed all of the great projects so many have made with this set. I hope it will inspire and encourage you to use this set, too.

The image is embossed with gold embossing powder. The dots are made with a gold glitter gel pen. The satin ribbon is a chocolate brown that I love. It's so pretty! I left off the sentiment because it could be used for several different things.

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope you'll hop over to Christina's blog to see what she has made. I will have my new Scripture Challenge page up tomorrow to share with you. I hope to get it posted a lot sooner than this one. Thursday I will share some projects we made at the FunShop Carolyn had on Saturday. It was so much fun and I enjoyed teaching everyone how to make these fun cards!

Take care!

PAPER BAG GIFT CARD TUTORIAL

Hey, everyone!
It's StampTACular Tuesday so you know what that means...more Butterfly Swirls! Today I decided to post a written tutorial on how to make these fun gift card holders. I have made a few of these and they are really easy to make! You could make several in such a short time.

The first thing you want to do is gather your supplies. Here's what you will need:
1 piece of pink cardstock measured at 5½" x 8½"
Score this piece at 2” and 5½” along the 8½" side.
1 piece of black cardstock (V-215) measured at 2½” x 2½”
1 piece of Premium White cardstock (V-290) measured at 2” x 2”
1 paper bag cut at 3¼”.
Black Noir Palette Ink (TT-220)
My Journey stamp set (T-2617)
Butterfly Swirls stamp set (T-2929)
Pink Stickles (F-525)
Crystal Stickles (F-516)
Ribbon
Scor-Pal (F-358)
Tombow Brights markers (F-01)
To begin you will need to fold along the score lines. Stamp the outside using the butterflies and swirls. Stamp butterfly image on Premium White cardstock. Stamp sentiment below butterfly. Color in the butterfly. Mat the white cardstock with black cardstock. Apply adhesive to upper back half of this layer. Adhere to the card leaving the bottom portion hanging down.
Open the card and apply adhesive on one side of the bag only. Line the bag up to the inside cover of your card. Adhere ribbon to lower portion of your card. Apply adhesive to the other side of the bag and close the flap to seal it.
Now you can insert a gift card, money, special note or a small gift inside and you are done! So fun and so easy to do!!
If you want more shine, just add some Sticles and set aside to dry. Hope you had fun with this tutorial. Be sure you check out what awesome ideas Christina has to share with you!

StampTACular Tuesday Challenge

Hey, everyone!

This month I am featuring the Butterfly Swirls stamp set (T-2929). I chose to make a card this week and I was trying to use other colors besides pink or purple! I tend to think of those colors when I think of butterflies, so this time I went a different direction! I first stamped the butterfly using Burnt Umber Hybrid Palette Ink (TT-218). I stamped this directly onto a blue and yellow plaid paper. I cut out the wings using my Kai scissors (C-1220). I stamped the image again onto the card and then layered the wings I had paper pieced with pop dots (D-89) on top of the stamped image so the wings have a raised effect to them. The sentiment is a free GWP stamp "Because" (TG-2973). You get your choice of 15 GWP stamps for every $30 purchase.
Be sure you check out the StampTACular Tuesday Challenge Christina made. If you missed last week's projects, click on the links to the right under the picture of the Butterfly Swirls stamp set.

I will be placing an order tomorrow for the new Serendipity magalogue. If you requested one, I will be sending it to you as soon as I get them. If you would like one but haven't reserved your copy yet, please let me know.

I will see you here again tomorrow. I will share my Scripture Challenge page with you for this week! But you will have to WAIT.

BEAUTY

Hey, everyone!

It's already Wednesday and that means it is time to share my page for this week's scripture challenge. For week 3 the key word is BEAUTY and when I think of real, true beauty I do not think of super models or some hottie on the cover of all the magazines, but I think of God's awesome creations. Have you ever just watched the sun rise in the morning or set in the evening? Have you looked at a big, bright full moon in the night sky surrounded by millions and millions of stars? You ever notice how beautiful a lake is on a summer day or how majestic those huge trees are in the woods? Incredibly tall mountains and delicate flowers could not be compared with anything that society considers beautiful. God's awesome creation is not beauty that can be duplicated! I am in awe of how beautiful our world is and I know that beauty mirrors God!

Here is my page...my daughter helped me with it! She loved the embossing. Do you recognize the stamp? It's from the Butterfly Swirls stamp set. It's just stamped with VersaMark and covered with silver embossing powder!

Thanks for checking out my page. If you want to see more, visit AMBER and CHRISTINA so you can check out their awesome pages, too! Have a great day! Don't forget about my blog candy!!!

StampTACular Tuesday!

Hey, everyone!

It's StampTACular Tuesday and I am excited to share with you my new book. It is sort of like a never-ending book but not quite. It's also like a flip book but not exactly! I thought it would make a neat mini-album and I can hardly wait to start putting some fun photos inside and decorate it!

This is the front of the mini album. I have taken my BUTTERFLY SWIRLS stamp set (T-2929) and applied VersaMark (S-1179) then Silver Embossing Powder (S-767) then heat set the powder with my heat tool (F-163). The black cardstock (V-215) measures 2"x2" and the Winterberry (V-903) piece is 2"x4" on chipboard (H-102).
This is inside once the front covers are turned back. The top flap folds back to the left and the bottom flap folds back to the right.
The left piece measures 4"x3".
This is the last page and it also measures 4"x3".
The back cover is 4"x4" piece of chipboard and it is embossed with the Butterfly Swirls stamp set, also. I hope you like this project. It was fun to try it out. I wasn't sure how to make it at first but I think it turned out pretty well. If you want to see more fun creations with this stamp set, please check out my friend CHRISTINA's blog.

Remember, I will be giving Blog Candy away at the end of the month! You won't want to miss it!! The blog candy winner will be the one who leaves the most comments on my blog by February 27, 2009.

Getting creative!

Hey, everyone!

I hope you all have had a chance to get creative today! My daughter and I have been hanging out today. She isn't feeling well, Javan's mamaw took him for a while and I've been cleaning!! (LOL)

I have had some time to work on a couple things here and there. I can't just sit and play like I'd like, but it's been fun to do a little at a time when I can. I thought I'd share some of our "creations" with you today.

This first photo is all the fun things Kadesia created at the book fair they had at school. I volunteered at the bookmark table and I am not even sure where that cute little gecko she decorated got off to! (LOL) She's quite the little artist!!
She drew two beautiful pictures while she was laying around. She still doesn't feel well. Poor baby! Don't you love my red hair? I do!!!
I cherish this cute little love note!
My baby girl said that since she made me something special, she wanted me to make her a special card. Who could resist a request like that? I know how much she loves butterflies, and since I was eager to play with my new Butterfly Swirls stamp set, I was happy to make this little card out of scrap cardstock, a ribbon I had in my box and these beautiful stamps! I used the Relax sentiment from the Basic Birds (T-2636) stamp set! The Get Well Soon stamp is just something I picked up at a store sometime ago.
She loved her card, especially with the butterflies on it! She could read the whole thing to me. I am so proud of her!!
This is the project I worked on a little at a time today. It was so fun and easy! I saw the video tutorial here and had to make one! I had some paper sacks leftover from when I sold Avon forever ago, and used that for the insert. How fun!! With this card, I used the Begin Blooming stamp from the My Journey (T-2617) stamp set, found in the spring/summer 2008 catalog. I colored it in with my Tombow markers. To add a little shimmer, I decorated it with Stickles. I think this will be a fun card for a birthday, or graduation, even bridal shower because of the sentiment, and it kind of is like a celebration type card. The fun part is slipping the gift card or money inside and it watching their surprise when they open the card!
Thanks for checking back today! I hope you were inspired to get creative!! If you want me to help you make this card or other projects you see here, give me a call!
Happy Paper Crafting,
Bridgett Owens
