Hey, everyone!
We have had a lot of changes since I was able to blog last time. I finished the nursing program for LPN and am currently preparing to sit for my state boards. I am not really nervous or scared yet but I am sure on test day I will be feeling the butterflies. We moved from our home in town. We are currently living with my mother and brother. It is so wonderful being here. My daughter and son are riding the same bus (number) that I did when I was a young girl. Kadesia is attending the same junior high I went to and not a lot has changed (physically) since I was a student there. My son is a student in a different elementary school than I went to because I moved to that school system in 5th grade. It is so nice to hear that they like it better than their old school. They've made new friends and are much sweeter, happier kids!
I thought I would share some pictures of their first day of school. Javan is in first grade and Kadesia is in the seventh. These two are definitely growing up fast.
Sweet moment before the first day of school.
New school clothes and backpack.
Javan loved his new CARS backpack.
First grade...(sob)...
Ready to get the day started!
Javan came home and told me all about his first day of first grade. He really missed his naps. He came home and slept for a couple of hours, simply exhausted! He likes his teacher and made new friends at school and on the bus. His first friend was a little girl on the school bus. Kadesia told me the two of them talked about the movie "Frozen" all the way to school.
Kadesia made new friends, too. She met up with some girls she used to go to school with and she had a really great day. She saw a lot of cute boys, too, she informed me. Aiyiyi!! But at least she is excited about going back and she said she really likes it. She told me that a boy on the bus said, "Hey new girl." He called out to her a couple of times but she thought he was saying "noodle" and didn't turn around. She is so silly. Someone finally got her attention and the boy welcomed her to the bus and told her she would like it there. I thought that was really sweet.
So it is good for this momma's heart to know her children are adjusting well and enjoying the new changes and challenges they have been given. We are blessed to be here with my mom and brother. We greatly miss my dad and wish we had just a little longer with him, but we are so thankful for the time we did have.
The children started school August 4 which I think is simply TOO EARLY to go back to school. They eventually will be going year 'round and I guess this is their way of gradually easing us into it. Sorry I haven't had a lot of time to blog. It's been extremely busy lately. I will share some pictures of Javan's 7th birthday this week so hope you'll come back to check that out. Thanks for hanging out with me today!
Hugs,
