Bestest Buddy's Birthday...

Busy working at the moment, but decided to show a card I made for a really good buddie a little while back.  A really simple 8" x 8" design - it had to be as at the time I needed the card I was meeting myself coming back with work and other commitments too.
Materials used...
  • pearlescent ice gold cream card
  • gold mirri card
  • cream organza ribbon
  • Happy Birthday sentiment peel off plus corners and borders
  • Memory Box dies (thank you Max I just love these two)
Challenges...
Have a good weekend all.  I'm working yet again - this is getting boring, but will be popping online from time to time.

Whoops almost forget to add that the card featured below is one made to send to the same special friend.  Eli's not quite big enough yet to share in crafting fun (another couple of months and we'll be fine - got the ELC paints at the ready) so I used Serif Craft Artist to make a photo type card.  Just a bit of fun, but I know Max really liked it.

Again have fun everyone.  Hope you manage to get lots of crafting time.

Top Three Award...

Wow how honoured am I?  Just found out that my card was chosen as one of the top three at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  Love their sketches as they are just so easy to get creative with and to be picked out like this has really made my day.
Thank you team.
You can see the card they picked out in this post here.
Gotta go in to work today, but I'll be playing along with this week's sketch as soon as I can.
Have a good week everyone.

Tropical Storm...

ooooooooooh a real paper page!!  Oh my I really got carried away on this.  Actually finding the matching papers took me absolutely ages.  How annoying is it when the two sides on double sided paper don't match each other.  Grrrrrrrrrr really frustrating.  I love the blue design here, but the blue on the reverse is a totally different shade and they just don't look right together.  In the end (hours later with every pack of 12" x 12" paper I own out) I opted to use a terracotta paper, which I liked as it matched the tiles on the photo and in my opinion provided a good contrast to the blue.

Other materials used...
  • hammered cream paper
  • Spellbinder flower, scalloped and plain circle die
  • circle punch to punch out photos
  • gems coloured using Promarker pen
  • Sizzix tag die
  • sketch (with loads of alterations) originally from Pagemaps by Becky Fleck
  • Designer papers by ?? - had so many out I really can't remember which pack they were from.
Challenges...
Well I'm off to stash away all the papers I've spread out everywhere and generally tidy my craft space.  Hope everyone is having a great day.
