But I am impressed with the comic media blitz that DC is rolling out for the book including the Newsarama links, a front and center shot of the cover on DCComics.com and now this interview with Sterling Gates on Comic Book Resources. Here is the link:
Now the interview is well worth reading and includes things like Gates' lifelong love of Kara (join the club) and his and Jamal Igle's approach to Supergirl.
But 2 images of Igle's stuck out.
1) Her costume: Look at this sketch of Supergirl by Jamal Igle. Notice the full shirt on the costume? I did. Looks almost Matrix-y, albeit with loose sleeve ends and the gold trim.
Now Igle has come out and said that he is merely 'tweaking the costume', not revamping it. So I don't know if this is what Supergirl will be wearing soon or just some concept art.

It is sort of a mirror position to this other promotional art piece of his that has been released.
And check out this one!
2) Secret identity: All along I have been saying that Kara needs a secret identity and the new team, while never confirming it, seemed to hint one was on the way. And now we see this picture of Linda Lang?? Ahhh, those dreaded initials L.L. crop up again. We know Lana is going to be a mentor to Kara in the new run. Looks like she will also provide her name for a secret identity.
And 'Linda' has sort of a Clark feel to her. I am sure she won't always look like Annie Hall. And I love the description ... quirky, cute, funny.
I, for one, am thrilled by both these pics and this new creative direction. Review of Supergirl #34 to come soon!
