Technique Time Tuesday

Caught in Crystal

I love to pop into Mynette's challenge blog Technique Time Tuesday , I am interested in learning new techniques whenever possible, however, for this particular challenge I have made cards using this wonderful technique before, so had to have another go to enter into the challenge. It is one of my favourite techniques and one the ladies of my class always enjoy, because until your project has dried and you turn it over, if you can be patient enough to wait, you never know what it is going to be like - it's always a surprise.
White and black card stock
Acetate
Stazon ink
D - Dragonfly Botanical stamp from The Stampman
Purple mesh and lilac grosgrain ribbon, 3 purple gems and four brads
Tumble Glass, Dusty Concorde and Peeled Paint DI
A secret ingredient  - not Glossy Accents - see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaAi_cxKMH0
Hope you enjoy the video Mynn - thanks for giving me this technique to play with - love it!

#56 Anything Goes @ ATSM

Hello, once again we find it's time for Anything Goes ( #56)  at Addicted to Stamps and More. I try during the Anything Goes weeks to step away from making a card, though this is not what the swap means, you can do anything at at all, giving you an opportunity to try something new or show us the latest successful technique you have learnt, as it say ANYTHING GOES. Some weeks ago my small class asked to decorate some boxes, the set above are my teaching sample, they were at various stages for the class, I have since finished them. I am going to put these to an extra use, by sending them to my partner at a Yahoo group called StampersUK, where we hold a monthly swap, this month it too, is Anything Goes,  my partner will receive these before this post appears on my blog.
Recipe
A set of 3 boxes, paper mache type, cost less than £2
White emulsion paint (cheaper than Gesso)
Green Acrylic paint
White Tissue paper
Stazon ink pad
Diluted PVA glue
Selection of Steampunk style stamps from
Stampendous, Kanban, Non-Sequitor from The Stampman
Flower forming dies, Marianne and Spellbinder.

Literary Inspiration @ MMM

This week at Make My Monday, Mynette has chosen a Literary Inspiration, which happens to be one of my most favourite novels, Jane Eyre. We are asked to create a project and to explain how we were inspired. We can gather the inspiration from either the book presentation, the images, any part of the story. I chose for this challenge to go with the book design. Very simple, understated really, this was the first thing I thought when I looked at the picture of the book. I have used a light grey card, using a Marianne oval die, I stamped the pretty lady form a set called 'Across The Miles' from The Stampman. The sentiment, 'It's Your Day' is from a set of Words Only form Sheena Douglas. I do look forward to seeing how you are inspired. Please do look at the blog, for the Design Team have crated some lovely cards to suit the challenge.
A quick hello to my followers, I see I have a few more added, your so kind, I do hope you continue to visit and enjoy my creations. many thanks to each and every one of you.

Anything But A Card

Now for something different at Make My Monday, we would like to see ANYTHING BUT A CARD.
I host two Fat Pages Stamping Swaps and am also a member of a NEW Design Team for a Fat Tastic challenge blog. Interested? Do you want to know more?  Then watch this space for there will be some exciting news later today . This is my fat page for the Do-Crafts Fat Page swap organised on the ATC Forum, it was for the theme of Childhood Memories. I used a lovely stamp from Joanna Sheen by Faye Whittaker called Bucket and Spade. The birds are from Inkylicious. I coloured everything with DI Mustard Seed and Broken China in a watercolour format.
Below is another Fat page I have made for Stampers UK a Yahoo group with a current Fat Page swap, this one was for an  Oriental/Asian theme. The stamps are from The Stampman - Non-Sequitor stamps. I again used Promarkers to colour the stamped images. You may be wondering, what are Fat Pages, if you want to know more please click on the Fat Pages Page on my page bar above. I look forward to visiting you to see what you have made instead of a card.

A Winter Sky

3rd Post Today
This month at The Stampman the challenge is a Winter's Tale, to depict showing either a winter sky, snow a snowy scene, all in the above card. The main image is a favourite of mine and my class, we all adore this scene, which has been created with a La Blanche stamp I bought years ago from QVC. I have coloured all the areas with Promarkers, a touch of my Quickie glue pen here and there with the addition of Crystal Glamour dust to define the snow areas. Matted onto red paper, with a die cut front added. Please, to the purists forgive me for adding a peel off, needs must on occasion. The corner stamp is an old but trusted Clarity Stamp, possibly now classed as an antique. Happy Christmas to Jill and Ian, and all their trusty elves who bring us over the year so many wonderful creations.

Visiting Paris at MMM

Thanks Val for the wonderful Vintage weeks, I greatly enjoyed your challenges. At Make My Monday during October it is Fliss's choice of a French theme, this being the first week it is PARIS. Oh la la.
For my project I first took a sheet of previously prepared copy paper, which I created using Starburst Stains from the Stampman, I then added the stamped image of Paris from Stampendous. I added the colour with chalks, added Frantage mix around the edges and at the base. I added a button and pink pearls to embellish. All tied together with some purple mesh and fancy fibres. I would like to thank Jill from The Stampman who demonstrated the use of the Frantage at a workshop, I learnt so much from her on that day. Now I am wanting to see your creations of Paris ladies. Please pop over to MMM to see the wonderful projects from the DT.
