Photo Inspiration - Fantasy Stampers

We have something different for you this week at Fantasy Stampers.  Easter with a beautiful photo to inspire you. Lots of pretty spring colours. I first thought of wonderful paste eggs, we don't seem to have them nowadays, the younger generations are more inclined towards chocolate eggs, I then thought about the song 'In my Easter Bonne,t with all the frills upon it' la la , so I went along with the thought of a pretty Easter bonnet.
I used the following...
White Card stock
Background papers in pretty green shades from Dreamees CD Rain or Shine
Patterned pink light card from my stash of  CD papers,
to make the bow and the centre border.
I made the bow with my WRMK envelope maker, it was so easy.
The lady stamp  is one of two ladies in pretty bonnets I bought from E bay, - sorry there was no information on the make etc.
The happy Easter greeting from a free set with a magazine.
The frame for the greeting from a  Kanban set of label stamps.
The flowers and leaves are from my stash.
So,  looking at the jar of coloured eggs and pretty flowers how does it inspire you, pop over to the blog to see how the Design Team were inspired., and hopefully we will see your project over the next  two weeks.

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE.

Paper Piecing Challenge

My second grandson celebrated his eighteenth  birthday on Monday this week. Over the weekend I had made this card for him. He is a very snapper dresser, he loves vintage clothes, so I thought this card would be well received which I am delighted to say it was. Over at Crafty Cardmaker their theme this week is Paper Piecing which is the technique I used to dress this Kanban gentleman to give it a more fashionable appearance. I used the same papers as were used for the background. They are from a Country Gent by LOTV. I made the bunting, added threaded buttons. The Time Flies and clock with wings are one stamp from Stampendous. Enjoy the Journey is from a Creative Expressions stamp set of Vintage Transport.

#56 Anything Goes @ ATSM

Hello, once again we find it's time for Anything Goes ( #56)  at Addicted to Stamps and More. I try during the Anything Goes weeks to step away from making a card, though this is not what the swap means, you can do anything at at all, giving you an opportunity to try something new or show us the latest successful technique you have learnt, as it say ANYTHING GOES. Some weeks ago my small class asked to decorate some boxes, the set above are my teaching sample, they were at various stages for the class, I have since finished them. I am going to put these to an extra use, by sending them to my partner at a Yahoo group called StampersUK, where we hold a monthly swap, this month it too, is Anything Goes,  my partner will receive these before this post appears on my blog.
Recipe
A set of 3 boxes, paper mache type, cost less than £2
White emulsion paint (cheaper than Gesso)
Green Acrylic paint
White Tissue paper
Stazon ink pad
Diluted PVA glue
Selection of Steampunk style stamps from
Stampendous, Kanban, Non-Sequitor from The Stampman
Flower forming dies, Marianne and Spellbinder.

Photo Inspiration at MMM

Hello once again from Make My Monday, this week our host is Jan who is challenging us to create a project using the above photo as inspiration, with very pretty pastel and feminine colours for you. My card is below,  I saw lots of elements , I wonder why my eyes were directed to the cupcakes?

I used pretty pink papers from a Papermania pink Capsule papers. Made the pennants, threaded with a piece of ribbon. The large cake and cupcukes are from a Flippen Women set of stamps of The Dieter. The cake stand is actually a dress form stand from the Jasper set of Steampunk stamps by Kanban. I coloured the cakes with Promarkers and edged the pennants with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. the cherries have been glazed with with Glossy accents. I am really looking forward to see how you have been inspired by the beautiful photo, have fun.

I used Promarkers to colour the stamped image. I do hope you will be either tempted or inspired to enter the challenge, pop over to the blog

Alpha/Dictionary Letter R

This is the seventh week for THE CRAFT BARN Alpha/Dictionary challenge and they have asked for the letter R. I have chosen REINDEER. I used Chipped Sapphire as a watercolour for the sky, Pine needles for the ground, white emulsion paint for the hills and lower ground. I stamped the Santa's sleigh and reindeer in the sky directly to the page, then added lots of (peel off)  shh! stars. The trees down the hillside are from Sheena Douglass Pinescape set. The reindeer is from Sheena Douglass again - Christmas set (Creative Expressions). I added Hi-Tack glitter glue along the bottom edge for the glistening snow which I am hoping will show when the pic is enlarged. I have greatly enjoyed making this page, journalling is fun. This is only my second entry, for I was a late starter, however I did say I would catch up so below is my non-entry  attempt at the letter V - which was the first week of the challenge.

I know there were several entries for VAMPIRE but as I am too late and just doing a catch up, I have gone with the one which appealed to me. I have a combination of Tandastamps,  Bats, cobwebs and skull. (So sorry to hear they are no longer trading). Inidgo Blu - Owl,  spider in web and church cloisters. Kanban - the Vampire from Jasper set of stamps. (Also very sorry that Kanban have ceased to trade too.) I loved making this page and I can keep it. I'll continue to play catch up, so for a few weeks I'll be adding two. I again used Distress Inks on top of white emulsion paint. I have a lot to learn with this journalling art.

Last Week in France

Well it is our last week in France at Make My Monday - Thanks Fliss I have enjoyed our little journey around France, I decided for our last week which is Feminine or Romance to spend my time browsing around the fashionable shopping areas. The backing paper is another lovely free download from a Vintage site, so suitable for our theme. There are two on my side bar, why don't you check them out.  I filled the shop with three dresses - stamps from Kanban.  Coloured with Promarkers.  I know I have used these stamps a lot but I still love them and find them so fitting for many occasions. The fancy corset is a Bravura stamp. I know many haven't joined our trip round France, but maybe for the last week we'll find a few more taking part, I do hope so for I love to visit your blogs and see how you have interpreted our challenges.

Sketch Plus Pink Wings

Two newly discovered blogs caught my attention recently so I have combined their challenges. Not something I normally do but I am looking to challenge myself more, I feel I have recently become comfortably sat in my comfort zone.
Sunday Stamp and Sketch - have produced a relatively simple sketch but aren't they fun to play with?
In The Pink Challenge #2 Things with Wings -
I think the smaller butterflies and the flowers are from a Kanban set of stamps. The larger butterfly in the centre of the circle is another marvellous freebie from the Craft Stamper magazine. Pink being the chosen colour for the In the Pink challenge.
