Mainly Men

We are up to the letter M already at the Alphabet Challenge, the choice for the next two weeks is Men, a card with a Man or for a Man. Over the past few weeks for my class I have been making a number of distressed cards with some men, so felt maybe it was time to have a change. how more different with a Flippen Men decoupage sheet from La Pashe, I do find this series of Men to be very useful. I realise not everyone's cup of tea, it is an acquired taste,  here is my Fisherman. The background was originally a piece of copy paper, coloured with Starburst Stains from The Stampman. I then stamped some images from the Flippen Men set and from a BarjanB set of country stamps. I loved your Lace cards last fortnight everyone, and am again looking forward to seeing your men's cards. Some do say the most difficult to make, but we know you ladies (and any crafting guys out there) come on you can do it.

At the Races -Trinitage

This is my second card for the Rainbow Lady, Age as in Decoupage or in my case Trinitage from La Pashe. I made several of this type of card for a demo class recently. This card is for a Dad who enjoys the races. A fuller description of the mechanics in making it are in the card below this one.

Grand Prix for Dad

The Rainbow Lady this week has an interesting challenge, called Age - as in Decoupage etc. I have chosen to complete two cards I hadn't quite finished, they had started out as demos for my weekly class. Firstly, let us go to the Grand Prix - A Happy Father's Day card - which is a Trinitage from La Pashe. A pop up card which is really easy to achieve. In the set you get two pieces of paper which you transfer to card to make small boxes to which you attach the different layers of the card. the second card I completed is above.

Friday, 4 May 2012

For the next two weeks at Alphabet Challenge we would like to see your creations of  G for Garden. I've  recently been making stepper cards for the class I run. I felt this fitted in really well for all of the stamps I have used from the Flippen Women series from La Pashe stamps. I took a close up of one side but if you click on the main picture you will see all of the card closer. I coloured everything with Promarkers. The punched white fence is from a Martha Stewart border punch. There have been some amazing creations for our last challenge, it was really enjoyable looking at all of the varied birds, so I am looking forward to viewing your gardens. Have fun ladies and any gents who may be around, most welcome.
I am also entering this into the challenge Garden Gems at My Time to Craft

Spots and Stripes

Over at Crafty Carmaker's the Challenge this week is Spots and Stripes, this leads my brain to thinking of a bright fun element. I hope I have achieved it with this card.
I recently bought a pad of colourful summer papers, which provided the pots and stripes on my card. I’ll be hiding this one away from my OH, I’ll keep it for his birthday.  A die cut oval, with the dreaded peel off to give contrast. I stamped the golfer from the Flippen Men series, by La Pashe. I coloured him in, using Promarkers and watercolour pencils. I hope the sparkly finish, with glitter glue shows on the glass of beer. I look forward to popping onto your blogs to see what you do with the spots and stripes. Check it out for the winner will get a fab prize from our sponsors. Thanks for any comments left on my blog, I do appreciate you took the time.

One For the Boys - Tag

This week at Try It On Tuesday we would like you to make a TAG - the theme was chosen by Yvonne - One for the Boys. My OH's business and passion is fixing things, so this is very appropriate for any gift I may give him in the future. Lovin Ink are sponsoring us with a fab bag of goodies. My handyman is stamped with one of the Flippen men stamps by La Pashe. I used Promarkers to colour him in. Once again I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your tags. Thanks so much for the fabulous response to last week's challenge. Have fun everyone.
