D is for Dry Embossing

Hello, thanks for your visit. My card today is for
the new challenge at Alphabet Challenges.
Silvi chose for the letter D - Dry Embossing.
Please pop to the blog to see the details and of course
to see my fellow DT members inspiration.
For my card I used a new E.F. with the centre heart die,
which was free with the magazine Simply Cards.
I used Core dinations card, which shows the base colour when
the top coat is sandpapered away. I made embellishments
with scrap card with the free stamps from the same issue.
Please stay safe and keep on crafting.

Anything Embossed

I am so pleased to see Cuttlebug Mania back from their summer break.  For the first challenge they have kept it  simple,  anything embossed. Here I have used a Cuttlebug embossing  folder, with Black/white Core'dinations card. Sanded back to expose the white core. Sorry don't know the origin of the motor bike stamp, coloured with a gold and black pen. Grungy Greetings from LOTV. Four brads and ribbon added.

T is for Twine

At Alphabet Challenges for the next two weeks Marie chose for the letter T - Twine, a good choice, especially if your like me and have a few rolls in your stash. It's so nice to have a little piece of normality after Halloween and before the next Christmas rush of cards. I decided to make a card ready for if and when a friend is feeling poorly. A good card to have ready on hand. I started with plain Kraft card. I embossed a piece of white with Kraft Core-dinations, embossed it then rubbed it down. After exposing the inner part, I then edged and swept over it with DI Vintage Photo. Added a few pieces of green patterned paper for contrast in layers. The main image is a stamp from Joanna Sheene. I coloured it with Promarkers. Added the twine and a small greeting which I think reads better than the order to Get Well Soon.
Greeting stamp from Hobby Art. I look forward to visiting you over the next few weeks.

Sketch # 177

At Sunday Stamp and Sketch this week Anne-Marie has designed Sketch #177 for us, please pop over to the blog to see how the remainder of the DT have developed her sketch. Remember it can be any orientation you choose as long as the sketch is recognisable. I matted an embossed piece of sandpapered Core'dinations onto pink card, added a triangle of design paper with roses and leaves. My main stamped image is an Inlylicious stamp, - French Rose -  which I coloured with Distress inks, added some gold mix Frantage on the edges and on the main image. Embellishments added are a metal butterfly and Card Candy. I am looking forward to commenting on your entries, this is only my second time as a member of the Design Team so I am hoping you will enjoy my inspirational cards.

Faux Silk/Faux Linen

I have been rather 'cutsie', over the last week or so, here is a card putting me back into my 'technique mode'.  At Technique Time Tuesday for this month, Mynette has demonstrated Faux Silk, though here in the UK, I have called this Faux Linen, the technique and result are the same, only the name is different. I used a new stamp from Inkylicious, called Poppy Lea. Coloured with Promarkers. The background is Core-dinations card, sanded back to expose the lighter grey tones. The completed image reminded me of Scotland, hence why I chose tartan ribbon to enhance. Only a few more days left, so again better late than never. Pop over to the blog to see how this effect is achieved, it is so easy, yet so effective.

A New Code Word at Addicted to CAS

Addicted to CAS are back, this being our first challenge for 2013, we hold these fortnightly. The word is
EMBOSSING -You can do either dry or heat embossing it is your choice.
We are so pleased to be sponsored by

with a wonderful prize for our winner of the challenge. Please pop over to the blog to see more details.

For my CAS - Clean and simple card, I decided to use a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Owls are so cute and can be used for various occasions. I used an orange sheet of Core-dinations, once embossed I sanded  the  embossed area which gives it the lighter colour. I then mounted it onto a C6 card (approx 6 x 4") and tied a black ribbon across the top. The greeting is one of those lucky pick ups from a reduced box.  I am looking forward to visiting and commenting on your embossed cards over the next two weeks. Thanks to those who have visited me and for any comments left which are always appreciated. Welcome to my newest follower, it is always heart warming to see another face appear in my list of followers.

O - Alphabet Challenge

At Alphabet Challenge it is already round to the letter O - we would like to see One Colour Only Plus White. Please click on the link for the Challenge blog to see the few requirements for the challenge. The Design Team have made some interesting and varied cards to meet this challenge. This is my card. I embossed a piece of Core-dinations card, with a Christmas Vine Embossing Sheet.  Sanded the surface to expose the core of the card. Added a few flowers, made from a fabulous small stamp from Dreamees, added a piece of ribbon and a greeting. Simple, quick and easy but I think effective. I hope you like it too.

Monochromatic - Orange

On at Crafting When We Can, their challenge is #23 Monochrome. Not everyone likes Orange but I did notice the background colour of the blog just happens to be orange so someone other than me must like it. I have been fairly busy over the last few days on a production line to produce cards. This is one of them. Each year I adopt a different charity to donate my cards to, last year it was the British Legion and St. Luke's Hospice, this year it is the Salvation Army, I take them as many cards as I can over the year, just from my weekly card making there are many, but every so often I have a blitz. When I bought my first pack of
Core-dination card, I had to have a play session which resulted in 20 cards. LOL
