D is for Dry Embossing

Hello, thanks for your visit. My card today is for
the new challenge at Alphabet Challenges.
Silvi chose for the letter D - Dry Embossing.
Please pop to the blog to see the details and of course
to see my fellow DT members inspiration.
For my card I used a new E.F. with the centre heart die,
which was free with the magazine Simply Cards.
I used Core dinations card, which shows the base colour when
the top coat is sandpapered away. I made embellishments
with scrap card with the free stamps from the same issue.
Please stay safe and keep on crafting.

Add Gold or Silver

Hello again, today we begin our new challenge at
Make My Monday. Silvi has chosen for us
To Add Gold or Silver
Please check ou the blog to see how the DT interpretated
the challenge. It would be a shame to miss them.
For my card, I have based it on a white card to mount
a piece of gold mirri card.
A piece of black card, embossed in an embossing folder
from Creative Expressions. Then gently rubbed with
Gold Metallic Wax Patina.
A greeting stamped onto a piece of torn vellum,
then embossed with gold embossing powder.
Have fun playing with your Gold or Silver.

MMM - Dry Embossing

Welcome back to Make My Monday, we have had a wonderful break, sadly, some of the DT have been ill with colds and flu, hopefully they are all now on the road to recovery. Not a good start to the new year, but I send to all the followers who enjoy the challenges at MMM a very happy and healthy new year. We have decided to make a few changes which start in the New Year, we no longer will have a theme per month, we will be more of a mixed bag every week, with challenges to hopefully interest and inspire you. We are starting off with Dry Embossing - a very pretty and now with Embossing folders, an easy technique. I have used Core-dinations card, I love it. It produces a wonderful effect when embossed and sanded. I used two embossing folders, one for the  background and one of the grasses and bird, punched out with a die. I used a lace trim punch for the white lacy border. If your a new crafter or received some new tools from Santa, please look in on us regularly for the Design Team will be producing some amazing samples in months to come from which you can learn and hopefully be inspired.

D - is Dry Embossing

Isn't time moving fast, I was so busy organising a Workshop yesterday, I forgot  it was the Friday to have a new challenge at the Alphabet Challenge  on to letter D  - Dry Embossing, time to get out your embossing folders or embossing tools. Please pop over to have a peek  at the lovely samples from the girls on the DT, there are lots of variations to inspire you. i chose to use a new embossing folder with butterflies and flowers, super for spring and summer cards. I first stamped direct on my white card with a Kay Carley stamp from The Stampman, coloured it with Promarkers. I embossed the frame, brushed it over with Tumbled Glass TH Distress Inks, cut out the centre to make the frame, added 3 d foam pads to raise it slightly from the white card. I added a few flowers and made a small concertina butterfly.  Many thanks for commenting on my blog, I always look forward to visiting and commenting on your entries. Welcome to my latest follower Jackie aka Bottledolphin, a long time friend from Do Crafts, who I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Make My Monday - Spring

A new month - a new theme at Make My Monday. March 1st. brings in the spring. For the next four weeks we have a Spring orientated project to look forward to. This, the first week we are looking forward to visiting your blogs where you have made a project/card with Spring Flowers- snowdrops, daffodils, crocus, bluebells or any other spring flower. Please may I remind you to switch off Word Verification, if your not sure how to, check up last week's entry on MMM in the Older Posts, we do appreciate it for it makes it so much easier when visiting so many blogs. For my card, I used an embossing folder which is actually called Christmas Vines , which looks just as good for spring with the leaves. I lightly brushed over with TH Peeled Paint. The floral bouquet is from Dimension Stamps and the butterfly is another of my favourite stamps Stamp It ~from Australia. I used Promarkers to colour the flowers and butterflies. Again I look forward to visiting you all.
