CAS at Fan-Tastic Challenges

At Fan-Tastic  Tuesday Challenges where it is Hip to be Square - we are going Clean and Simple. I have used a Dreamees stamp of a Christmas Tree. I was so pleased to see the mother and daughter duo on Create and Craft last week and have just read they will be on again during the first week in December. I stamped onto green card with Versamark and heat embossed with gold powder. Added a few red gems to decorate. I am sorry about the lack of light, this was taken early one morning but the light is not good at this time of the year. I look forward to seeing your CAS - Clean and Simple works of art- remember they must be Square.

An Animal @ Sparkle Monthly

Here we are again on the 15th of the month back to Sparkle Monthly, this month we are asking you to use an ANIMAL  on your project. It being so close to Christmas, not surprisingly, some of the DT, (maybe all), have chosen to use a Christmas related animal. Who can resist this wonderful new stamp from Woodware of Rudolph, isn't he just magnificent? I coloured him with Promarkers, I used LOTV Classic Christmas design paper for the background. The sentiment is from Dreamees. I have used Glossy Accents on his nose, heart and holly leaves, which I am hoping you can see when the picture is enlarged. I look forward to visiting you all, we have a system of commenting on a certain number of entries over the month, but I can assure you, I do enjoy visiting every one of you. Have fun and hopefully be well.
For this challenge we are kindly being sponsored by
Please check out all of the details at Sparkle Monthly.

Q - is for Quilts

We at Alphabet Challenges realise how quickly the weeks go by when we are using the letters of the alphabet each fortnight,  here we are with the letter Q - Jennifer has cleverly given us the word QUILT  for our next challenge  I knew I had nothing appropriate, but thought about it and have recently bought a wonderful stamp from Dreamees  at a very reasonable cost. I know I will be able to use this Patchwork stamp over and over again for backgrounds. I used papers from LOTV Country Gent pad. The greeting 'Have a Wonderful Day' is from Sheena Douglas stamps - Only Words. This may not be an easy challenge this time but come on let's see how you will not be beaten and have a go. Paper piecing which we recently featured may be helpful, I am sure you will find some wonderful inspiration from  the Design Team, above all please have fun, I did.

Mid Week Motivation at MMM

Every week on a Wednesday the Design Team member of Make My Monday, who chose the challenge theme provides you with a Mid- Week Motivation project to hopefully guide, instruct or simply inspire you. I decided to make 3 bookmarks where I have used the same new stamp but in different ways, hoping to give that inspiration if you need it.
The Bookmark on the LEFT is a simple Monochrome approach, using a white piece of card, and a black ink pad for the stamp. I have also added further interest stamping a few leaves from another set of stamps. I dragged around the outer edge with the chisel nib of a black marker pen. Added fibres and ribbons.
The CENTRE example shows how my adding pretty papers to your bookmark, you don't need to add any further colouring to the background. I have only coloured the birds, made a small flower using a stamp and again added fibres and ribbon.
The final bookmark on the RIGHT is more of a Vintage style, I coloured the background with TH Distress inks Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. All the stamping was done using a black ink pad. I added a piece of lace and a fancy button, along with the fibres and ribbon to embellish it.
Stamps Used----
Left -Bird Cage with two birds from Inkylicious. My non - inked stamp.
Left - Leaves - Paperartsy - Flora and Fauna 3
Centre -The small flower - from Dreamees

Right Border top and bottom from La Blanche stamps.

Feline Friends

Yes, another week has passed us by, very quickly. It's time to challenge you once again at
CD Sunday Challenge, which this week is Feline Friends. I was lucky that several years ago I bought over a period of time a number of CD's from E bay for only 99 p each- Maria G Designs. They are simply images but I found them them very useful for some of the challenges, this being one of them. Aren't these just the cutest kittens?
I made an A5 card but cut landscape wise, they tend to stand better. Simply cut  an A4 sheet to be  8" wide,
then cut the A4 in half to have two halves, score 1" in from the left on the top sheet and secure the 1 inch with strong tape or wet glue. The paper is from Paintbox Poppets from Crafter's Companion. The flowers are stamped with a Dreamees stamp, the butterfly is from a free stamp from Craft Stamper. I am really looking forward to visiting all of your Feline Friends over the next week. I hope you have lots of fun and hopefully a healthy week ahead for us all.

Couples

2nd post today
It's been many a month since I joined in  the St. Luke's Charity Card Challenge , I guess it's about time I put that right. Their current challenge is COUPLES, it needn't be of the human kind, if you look at their site they have shown many varied examples. I have stuck to my original thought, of a human couple, simply because I had a stamp in mind I wanted to use. I recently purchased a pack of Papermania Capsule Collection papers, I'm not sure what these are called but it is all creams, beige and light browns, so suitable for vintage cards.
Couples stamp Wooden Inkadinkado, small flowers - Dreamees stamps - Happy Anniversary - stash. Coloured with Promarkers.

Split Complimentary colours

Welcome to the fifth and final week of the Make My Monday colour wheel challenges.  This week we're focusing on a trio of colours known as SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY COLOURS.

Split complimentary colours are fun to play with.  You start with one colour, find its compliment and instead of using the compliment, use the two colours beside the compliment.  Mynnette has chosen the split complimentary colour scheme of fuscia, green, and yellow for you to create with this week.  White and cream are your acceptable neutrals again! You may stamp lined images and sentiments in either black or brown, but solid images should be stamped in fuscia, green, and/or yellow.

We at Make My Monday, have come to the last of Mynnette's colour challenges, I haven't found these challenges to be easy, but I have greatly enjoyed them. Some challenges are more challenging than others, but those are the ones I learn something from, so thanks Mynnette, for taking me out of my comfort zone, it has been fun. This the last week has been even more challenging, however, once I popped onto Less Is More and saw their Sketch theme for this week I knew immediately how to use the colours. I am also entering this card into the Less Is More challenge, please note the above girls, not my normal colours, but different and fun to do.
I would like to say a personal farewell to Suzanne B who has recently left the DT team, you will be missed but I am happy to know we will be meeting each other around blogland.
We, Jacqueline the owner and the DT have decided to take the month of August as a Summer recess. This current challenge will last until we return, all entries will be commented upon and the winners will be announced on our return 6th September. I do hope we in the UK have a better remaining summer with some sun. Sorry this entry is so long, so much to say.
Stamps used - small flowers from Dreamees.
Butterfly from Chloe Stamps
Punch - X-cut     Papers from Melody Ross Lydia collection from Chloe Stamps

Monochromatic - Orange

On at Crafting When We Can, their challenge is #23 Monochrome. Not everyone likes Orange but I did notice the background colour of the blog just happens to be orange so someone other than me must like it. I have been fairly busy over the last few days on a production line to produce cards. This is one of them. Each year I adopt a different charity to donate my cards to, last year it was the British Legion and St. Luke's Hospice, this year it is the Salvation Army, I take them as many cards as I can over the year, just from my weekly card making there are many, but every so often I have a blitz. When I bought my first pack of
Core-dination card, I had to have a play session which resulted in 20 cards. LOL
