No Images or Photos

Hello again, thanks for popping by.
their challenge for the next two weeks intrigued me. I'll go so far to say
I was truly challenged with
'No Images or Photos'
This challenge made me realise how much I depend upon a topper,
usually an image I have stamped and coloured.
All of the above papers, including the flowers are from a CD,
I've had for ages, it was an old one when I bought it,  I've never
used it, but after today, I will be using it a lot more. There are some
gorgeous papers with fabulous colours.
CD  by Kanban - Seasons Collection - Backgrounds and Extras.
The large die is by Sweet Dixie, the smaller circle is a Marianne die.
The verse is by Phill Martin - Birthday Verses 2
Purple gems added.
Thanks for the challenge ladies, I really enjoyed doing something different.

At the Seaside

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside. Memories of my childhood, my children's and grandchildren's childhoods, There is nothing like being 'At the Seaside' - so many happy summer memories, which  is why I chose this for this week's theme at CD. Sunday Challenges. I do hope you will pop over to see the stunning projects from the Design Team. Our main rule is you must use at least something from a CD and name which CD you used. Easy as that. For my card, I made it into an easel card for added interest. The image and most of the papers are from 'La Pashe - Best of 2012', sorry, I know again, but it is a powerful source for images.
I added some Frantage and a small starfish from my stash. I hope you can see the decoupaged layers of the  camper van and the surfers. Have fun, everyone, sorry I won't be seeing you again for two weeks, with us going to a fortnightly blog, but I will be visiting everyone of you who enter . Enjoy your seaside memories.

Ribbon, Lace and Gems

Hello from Team B, here we are again, at CD Sunday Challenges, Wendy has chosen for us a combination
of delights. - - - - Ribbon,  Lace and Gems... A good choice, my first thought of the combined words was pink and pretty, hence my card above. Those who know me in the crafting and blogging sectors know I am not a pink and pretty designer, however needs must and of course when I step out of my comfort zone, I always end up having a great time and enjoying the pink and pretty.
The card was created using the Here Come The Girls CD from  Creative Crafting World.
The lace ( great bargain from Boyes Store, only 40p .) ribbon, gems and glitter from my stash.
I am looking forward to visiting you all, to see your creations for
Ribbon, Lace and Gems
Enjoy

The 1950's

It is wonderful to see Carol back being able to craft once again, at CD Sunday Challenges.  Carol chose The !950's for our challenge this week, not that many can remember such times, or even claim to have been here on earth, sadly, as a very young girl,  I do remember wearing a very stiff net petticoat under a dress trying to achieve the flared dress as on my card. The papers and pyramid images are from The 1950's CD by Kraftyhands. I am looking forward to seeing your projects from the era and remember to have fun whilst creating your project.

I punched around the edges with an XCel Lace Trim. the main image is from Crafting Qween Spellbound Mysteries CD. I added flowers, leaves  along with a few die cuts and pearls. A touch of green and crystal glitter added to the fair maiden. Have fun ladies, I greatly look forward to visiting your blogs.

Christmas in July

Wendy has chosen the challenge this week at CD Sunday Challenges,  which is Christmas in July, I know I agree, it's far too soon for the 'C' word, but not for many card makers who like or need  to start early. Sometimes, I wish I had started early, but I do find I work best to  shorter deadlines. I do think the Pickles and Podge at Christmas Quick cards on The Best of La Pashe 2012 are wonderful cards, so easy to make and so cute and effective. I shall be making many more of these this year. With a Quickie glue pen I added some Chrystal Glamour Dust which I am hoping will show on enlarging the card. Thanks for visiting, looking forward to viewing your cards, I love to see other crafters' ideas. Have fun and take care.

Hats - Thanks to Jem's Designs

We, at CD Sunday Challenges,  have all had a week of indulgence with the use of the wonderful CD from Jem's Designs Ltd. with the fabulous CD Hat Box Confections. I first made the above card then decided I needed to try another shape, and use up more the embellishments I had printed, which is why I am showing two cards this week. I had to stop myself for I could have made more and probably will soon.
The only additions I have made arewhite and black card, a few black flowers, red ribbon, spot of glitter and a few jewels (Top)  for the white and black card,  Glitter and jewels. Have fun with your Hats this week everyone, looking forward to visiting you again.

Dance at CD Sunday

This week at CD Sunday Challenges Carol has chosen Dance, this give loads of scope for the challenge.
I decided upon a Cabaret form of Dance, which is from a Maria G Design CD Fashion. I am hoping the close up will show the glitter I have added to the Dancer. I made a step card, I really do not get along well with measurements, I find if I draw lines and cut on a sheet of copy paper, score and fold till I get what I want, then I have a copy for my card. I used gold mirri card, black and cream for matting and layering. The greeting is from Time Flies a Debbie Moore Shabby Chic CD.  Flowers and leaves from stash.
Hint re - the flowers. As with everything that has the word craft attached to it, the item is pricey, so if you look around where artificial flowers are sold you can often pick up some bargains, as I did with the flowers I used.  I love the challenge this week , so I will be even more thrilled to be visiting you to see which form of Dance you have decided upon.

S is for ..............Steampunk

This week at CD Sunday Challenges Beryl has chosen S is for.................whatever you want it to be, the design team have such a varied selection, still leaving many choices for the letter S. I decided to choose
STEAMPUNK. Okay, I think some of you may be saying 'What is Steampunk'?  This is an excellent explanation from the CD I used from Jem's Designs - Steampunk Fairies and Friends.
' Steampunk is set around the Victorian era. You could liken it to a novel by the great author Jules Verne 20, 000 Leagues under the sea, It's all about Trains, Airships, Airplanes, Cars, Bicycles, Machinery, and anything else that could (or could be imagined) to be run by steam, looking old and rusty. The clothing is just as weird, and wonderful with Hats, Goggles, Boots, Jewellery, Glasses, Keys, Clocks and Cogs.'
The Butterflies and sentiment are from Debbie Moore Shabby Chic - Time Flies CD, the remainder from the CD mentioned above. For the main body of the card I used black card, a layer of silver embossed mirri card then a layer and main image from the CD.
Steampunk is an acquired taste you ether like it, get it or the you don't. I thought I'd try something different. Me, I like Steampunk, took me a while to get it but I'm a devout follower know. Waiting for another CD to arrive, can't wait for it landing on my doorstep. I'll be around to see what you found to do with the letter S.Most of all have fun everyone.

Kimono

Hello everyone, I am sorry my picture is not to the usual standard but my photographer and editor is still in hospital as I prepare this page to be scheduled for 16th June for my choice of Kimono for your challenge this week at CD Sunday Challenges. I chose Kimono for I have always enjoyed making Oriental cards and there are many good Oriental CDs around to choose your images. Did you know that    "The kimono (着物) is a Japanese traditional garment worn by men, women and children. The word "kimono", which literally means a "thing to wear".  For my card the main image is from Joanna Sheen Oriental Dreams, which is matted onto black and gold card. The overlapping fans are from an Oriental set of stamps from See D stamps. The string of beads are a mixture of varied beads from my stash and some paper beads, which are so easy to make and very effective.  I found this You Tube video , if you want to give it a try.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bPsp6lfIV8
I look forward to again visiting you to view your Kimono projects. Thanks for visiting me and for any comments you leave.

Aged to Perfection

It's thanks this week at CD Sunday Challenge to Sue B for choosing our challenge which is Aged to Perfection, now of course this is once again left to your imagination, for there are a few things which do get better with age. However, the moment I saw the makings of this card on The Best of La Pache 2010 CD, I wanted to make a card. I have kept it fairly simple from printing it out for I think the the way the couple are with each other tells their story. I stamped Congratulations onto a banner stamp, and added a printed sentiment, On Your Special Day. I also used a sheet of pale lilac card and purple card printed out from Sheena Douglas Paint Fusion CD, to mat and layer the main image. Have fun everyone looking forward to visiting you, during the next week.

Go Green

Another Sunday , already, I can't believe it's nearly half way through the year. This week at
CD Sunday Challenges Jenny has chosen  a colour themed card - Go Green. The possibilities here really are endless. When looking through a recent CD purchase from E Bay - Crafting Qween - Spellbound I saw this image and the more I looked at it, the more peaceful I felt. I think it is a beautiful relaxing image, and of course there is a lot of green. I used for the small amount of backing paper a spare piece in my stash box from Sheena Doulgas CD Paint Fusion. Used an X-cut punch for the fancy edging, two lovely dies, the scroll and the flower, many thanks to Sandra for the loan of. So ladies (and any gents) off you go, search your CDs for the colour GREEN, and please along the way,  have fun.

Ornate Blossom

Hello everyone, this week at CD Sunday Challenges, Christine has chosen Ornate Blossom for our challenge. Lots of good reasons to play with our CDs in finding some beautiful blossoms or blooms. I decided to go for one big blossom. The background and blossom have been made using a Debbie Moore Shabby Chic haberdashery CD. Not somewhere I would have first looked for blossom but fate drew me to these blooms. I really am not a pink girl, but something draws me to this card. Have fun in finding your blossoms everyone, I look forward to visiting you over the next week, usually I comment on the last day of the challenge, but I do get there.  Have fun. Caz

Today at CD Sunday Challenges Sue T,  the latest recruit to the Design Team has chosen for this week's theme, Weddings, a suitable choice for the beginning of the Weddings season. I made a stepper card, one of my favourite shapes from the Robert Adams Fabulous Folds CD. I matted a layer of mirri card, then a layer of some beautiful white and silver paper, recently bought from Sarah at Peerless Designs. The main image is from Joanna Sheene's Vintage Romance CD. An additional ribbon and bow, small white flowers and a pretty leaf shaped charm. I again look forward to visiting you to see your wonderful creations for weddings.

Purple Paradise

This week at CD Sunday Challenges  Wendy has chosen Purple Paradise. I do believe that purple is a very popular colour amongst crafters, so we are expecting this to be a popular challenge. I have a friend who will be celebrating a special birthday shortly so thought this card may be made with her in mind. I hope she likes it. The image is from a Fashion CD from Maria G Designs, one of many CDs I bought several years ago on E-Bay, most of them are just images without all the exciting background papers etc, but this is by no means a way to stop a card being made. I punched on each edge of a piece of purple paper with a Martha Stewart punch.  I added two very pretty die cuts which provide the base for the flowers from my stash. Purple jewels
added to the mattered and layered main image, all on an 8 inch shaped card. I do look forward once again in visiting you to see your outstanding pieces of Purple Paradise. Have fun ladies.

Majesty at CD Sunday Challenges

This week at CD Sunday Challenges it is again my turn to choose the topic, I have decided upon Majesty, which according to the dictionary means stateliness or grandeur. I started with an 8 inch shaped card, I added Flitter glue, (Indigo Blu) around the edges then sprinkled with gorgeous gold flakes, so the entire border is gold flakes. Inside I already had the pink background from a previous printed card, though I have forgotten from which CD it came from, sorry to the producer. I backed the main image onto gold mirri card to add more splendour. The actual image is from a CD I purchased a good many years ago from E Bay, it is called Africana from Maria G Designs. Ribbon added, jewels, a flower and two stick pins to complete the embellishments. I again will be visiting your blogs over the next week, have fun ladies and gentlemen.

Thank You - CD Sunday Challenges

This week at CD Sunday Challenge Beryl has challenged us to make a THANK YOU card. We all need at some time or another to have maybe one or two put aside for those times when you just want to thank someone for that little expression of kindness. I made this card specifically for a friend who really adores pansies. the image is from a Peerless Designs - Yesteryear Floral Vase Collection. The remainder consist of card from my stash, the yellow ribbon and a foam stamp saying Thank You. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the trellis pattern on the side of the card. An easy card to make, but we do sometimes need that quick card. I'm sure you will enjoy making this week's card and I look forward to visiting you all again. Before I leave I would like to Welcome Sue T to our Design Team, I have long admired her creations and am thrilled to be on the same team, working along side her.

Through the Window- CD Sunday Challenge

Here we are again, at CD Sunday Challenges The challenge this week is Through The Window, so many possibilities as to what we can see through a window. I recently purchased a CD from E Bay called 100 Through the Window images, which fits in perfectly for this theme which was chosen by Carol. Carol is providing the prize for this challenge, please pop over to the main blog to find out more of the details. I used a sheet of pretty paper from a paper pad free with a magazine, Printed and cut out the window frame, fussy cutting I believe it is now called. I added two lovely swirly die cuts and a few flowers to embellish. The With Love stamp is from a Words set of stamps from Sheena Douglass. I do hope you like this challenge and most of all have fun.
