The opportunity to voice Mera was all thanks to the incredible super-talent Andrea Romano--the queen of voice directing--whom I had met working on Spongebob Squarepants. Having the opportunity to work opposite John DiMaggio (Aquaman) made the records all the sweeter. And well, quite honestly, the entire cast, helmed by Diedrich Bader as Batman, was unbelievably welcoming and, yes, talented!
Andrea and I decided that Mera, in this embodiment, should have a voice that was strong and sexy with an underlying undeniable wife and motherly quality. Their "vacation" episode was a blast to record. I only wish that Mera had appeared more than twice in Batman: the Brave and The Bold! I would have loved to have the opportunity to explore her darker years...I find them so fascinating--so intriguing...Well, perhaps in some other incarnation. Until then, let in be known that I feel extraordinarily lucky to have had the opportunity to bring the great Mera to life--if even for just a moment.

Awesome addition to Mera Month!
I loved seeing Mera on B&B! I thought Miss Irwin did an excellent job!
Chris
rob!, you've made Mera Month a lot of fun. Hate to see it end, but can't wait to see what's next for the Shrine. I loved this morning's Memories of Mera piece, and thought it was a lot of fun. The Aquaman Family Vacation was a stellar episode of B:TBATB, and it was only fitting to work it and Mera in today. Well done!
Thx guys! Mera Month was Joe's idea and I thought it came out great. The character has earned this shout-out and people really responded.
Xtra thanks to Sirena Irwin for offering up this look back at her time as Mera! She's a real sweetheart and I thought she did a great job on B&B.
