τί φής, τί φής...; This lively phrase ( Nub. 1444, Lys. 710) serves to show that her excitement is of a joyful kind. It is in a different tone from the “πῶς ε<*>πας” which greets similar announcements elsewhere (O.T. 943, Ph. 414).— ξεῖνε: cp. O.C. 33 n.
