οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀγαθῶν <γὰρ>. This is a comment on Electra's devotion, as just described. The train of thought is;—‘Yet such devotion might be expected in one who is truly noble (in nature as well as in race); for no generous soul will stoop to baseness.’ By τῶν ἀγαθῶν here are meant “οἱ καλῶς πεφυκότες” in the full sense (989 n.). The quality of Electra's heroism is such as belongs to them generally; though in the degree of it she is unique.
