B E W A R E...

lots of halloween and Fall posts will be coming so watch out!!

I love October!
Halloween parties, costumes, treats, fall leaves, fall biking, football, cooking
with pumpkins, baking fun and ghoulish treats,  etc, etc, etc,  it literally is
my favorite time of year!!!!
~oh and it's my birthday on Halloween!!

every year i  surprise my kids on October 1st, with the house decorated  for Halloween
and their trick or treat bags out and filled with some fun treats when they get home from school. {costumes included}

They love this and were totally surprised!

the costumes were a hit, especially Boston's 'napoleon dynamite'
{note to self~ NO ONE likes the monster cereal!}

Happy October!!

Easter eggs...

 we loved jammin out to "here comes peter cottontail" and "Eggbert the easter egg"
  while coloring our eggs...

I used the vinegar/lemon juice combo with warm water for our egg
 coloring this year.  I think it worked pretty dang good!

my kids always love decorating easter eggs... i only wish i was more creative to help them out.
 Ivy was a disaster,  every time i turned my back she put someones 'finished' egg in another round of color.  but she loved eating all the eggs with hayes.

olivia was so into it this year.
we bought her the glitter set so she could do all different eggs in glitter and she loved it.
  I think they turned out awesome!

livi waiting patiently...

hayes was really into it and then he decided he wanted to
eat all of his right then.
 still wet!

a day in the life of...

 little miss ivy...
yah we know she is pretty spoiled rotten. haha

we love her like crazy!
 at times she can get super bossy and demanding & she usually gets what she wants.
like her chocolate milk ba ba, pirate booty and treats while she watches Dora.
this picture cracks us up!

i love that she is watching tv,
playing the ipad, and also playing the itouch.

we're teaching her to multi task~wink.
love her personality so much.

i'm still here...

it's not like me to not be blogging daily, sheesh... what's my deal?!

I am still alive and just hanging out with my cute little family recovering. I've been watching
plenty of icarly, Good luck Charlie,Dora and lots of redbox movies!
we have early out on friday so we escaped to the theater right after school to see this movie...

'Rango'
we loved it.  lots of giggling in this movie.

We've been busy with Boston's state report.  I love that his teacher put all the
 states in a bowl and all the kids picked their state without knowing.  I love that Boston
 picked "Massachusetts"  how ironic. haha
we've been learning some very interesting facts. It is quite the state project too.

The kids have been going to gymnastics and perfecting their flips and cartwheels.
Olivia is getting ready to perform with her dance company at many competitions
coming up and I am so excited!

Ivy is always cracking us up with the things she says... the other day she was hiding behind the curtains and we asked her what she's doing. she said "hurry & hide the cops are coming!" haha
where is she getting this stuff?!  She loves playing with the Ipad and watching her
 momma kick some butt at "angry birds!"

Cory is getting ready for biking season, he has a big bike trip coming up.  it's like torture
to see people outside running and biking while i am limping around on my foot.
seriously, this weather has been amazing.

anyway, i'm alive and doing great.  I love taking the time to just hang with my babies and
enjoy the things that they do on a regular basis.  I occasionally  prop my leg up on the couch pillows while icing my foot and i am suddenly surrounded by all my little cuddle bugs.  Every child is sitting on me, laying on me or close by.  it warms my heart.  I could get used to this!

all Hallow's eve...

we had some extra dry ice so we had some more brew here at home!  My kids love making
up stuff to throw into the pot.

Ivy wanted in all of the action too, she loved throwing in the
 "mummy droppings" {marshmellows}

have a safe and "Happy Halloween"
 i think i am more excited to hand out candy,  because we  rarely had
 alot of trick or treaters at our old neighborhood.
 this will be fun.

the best part of "dry ice" is putting all the extra in my williams sonoma
 container and throw it in their bath!

they love this!

it's pumpkin time...

around here.

ivy loved decorating her elmo pumpkin.
Olivia was totally into  doing it all by herself,
boston only likes to carve it {not all the yucky inside stuff} and
Hayes loved helping dad clean out all the guck from the pumpkins.

thank goodness dad does the cleaning out of the pumpkins.

so much fun!

i always love trying to figure out how to use my night setting but at the same time show
off the lit up pumpkins. ~sigh...

one day i will figure it out, but until then, i think it looks kinda spooky

Christmas morning...

awww, the magic of Christmas day!

i loved this year {and of course every year} my twins were at the Cute age of excitement and awe as we baked our cookies for santa on Christmas eve. we were tracking Santa all night on Norad, and Boston was so cute with them too, telling them to hurry and get to bed, because he thought he heard the sleigh. haha {it worked}

i love everything about Christmas morning, i love the anticipation, the sleepless child who wakes up every hour and asks if it's time yet {Boston}, the jammies that you wear ALL DAY, the big breakfast, etc...

we had a wonderful day filled with yummy food, family, movies {the Chipmunks},games, toys and toys and more toys!

and of course the joy and love that you feel for others throughout the season.. may it last & last forever!

while Olivia was baking a cake in her "easy bake oven"  she told me it was for Jesus' birthday.  How cute is she?  We asked our kids that day what gifts they would give to Jesus, and Olivia said that she would "keep the sacrament" haha  I'm sure she meant the Commandments.  she is seriously the sweetest little thing!

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas...

we make our kids wait by the door until everyone is ready. {dad}
then  they all go out at the same time.

did i mention that my kids didn't wake up until 9am!!!

every year santa hides a present usually at the bottom of their stocking and he sends them on a scavenger hunt... he sent them all over the house and they finally ended up in the garage and found BIKES!!

Boston got his new mtn bike with clips {can't wait to take him mtn biking} and livi & hayes got these new bikes that have no training wheels and no pedals.   this will help them with balance so they can learn how to ride without training wheels.   It was too cold to ride outside so
 they rode in the garage. ;)

Boston was hilarious all morning with his "Cell phone"  he is now a multi tasker... playing with his helicopter while talking on the phone...

School "Halloween" parties...

Friday was a busy day... I got all the kids in costume and off to school. I took the twins and Ivy with me to Boston's school parade to see all the cute costumes. They loved it.
Then they went off to their school party.

Hayes {Capt' Hook} and his buddies...
Jack {Hulk} is Hayes' best buddy.

Olivia, {Ariel} and her besties...
all of these girls she talks about daily. We LOVE their Teacher!

In Boston's class we had 3 stations... a cookie decorating station, bobbing for donuts and then my station...
I decided since we had the gym to do some fun games.
I ripped up some sheets and the kids had teams and did Mummy Relay Races! They loved this. Another hit was tying balloons to their ankles and having 3 teams {orange balloons, black balloons, and white balloons} they had to try to pop the other color balloons to see what team won first.

It was so FUN, they definitely got some energy out! haha

Boston pretty much thought maybe he was too cool for me to do the "Witches Brew" in his class. {wink}
So we had our own little after school party at home with my kids and they loved pouring all the Gross ingredients into the Pot...
I must admit, this is one of my favorites and my kids were loving this.

Ingredients...

Ghosts blood {7 up}
Draculas teeth {tips of candy corn}
Spiders {plastic spiders}
body parts {plastic fingers and thumbs}
mummy droppings {mimi marshmellows}
bat eyes {frozen blueberries in ice cubes}
bat blood {red food coloring}
worms {gummy worms}
vampire dust {sugar}
frankensteins hand {frozen hand}
eyeballs {gummy eyes}
Witches breath {dry ice}

Cast your spell and drink up if you dare...

we also had to have our "Jack O lantern" pizza from Papa Murphy's that's tradition...

oh and then of course we threw the rest of the dry ice into the bath so the kids can enjoy a spooky tub. (in a container) haha
