Ward Campout!

We had our Ward Campout at Mutual dell, the weather was beautiful and the kids
loved exploring and getting super dirty.  They had a zip line and my kids LOVED
it!  Ivy wouldn't do it, so she just hung out with me and watched
everyone do it!

We had such a fun fireside that night with skits and S'mores!
The Bishop even put up a big screen
and we watched Nacho Libre with surround sound and everything.

my kids can now check camping off their summer bucket list!

After our zip lining adventures we had a delicious smoked pork & chicken dinner that the Bishop had made! It was seriously SO delicious!  Then we had a dutch oven cook off for dessert... well it really wasn't a cook off, but i called it that and i would have to say out of all the dutch oven desserts {6} mine was THE BEST!! ha!

Father & Sons

My handsome boys went on an overnight campout with the ward.  Just the boys!
yahooo!!

it was also our school carnival that night so i took the girls to play at the school.
the carnival was darling but they had to move it inside because of the windy cold weather.

after the carnival we went to get pedicures and Orange leaf.  then went home to watch
the 'good luck charlie' marathon.

The boys went shooting guns and enjoyed freezing their butts off all night.
good times!

pioneer day, Hansen campout!

for pioneer day weekend we took the kids camping with the hansen cousins!
we had a huge spot all to ourselves. camping with children is always a TON of work,
but they love it so much so i figured i better make this my one camping trip for the summer. ha

tasha and i even made tinfoil dinners that were
delicious and the kids fully enjoyed roasting
starburst and marshmellows.  have you ever roasted starburst??
um, it's AMAZE~ing!

thanks to aunt Charee, & aunt Cheer we all had a fabulous 'magelby's style' breakfast.
then up the mountain to enjoy some gorgeous hiking.   these trails are our favorite biking trails.

Boston took off with his older cousins.
i was just imagining that he was going to be on the news as one of the
lost scouts that you usually hear about.   good thing he has an amazing scout leader, he was just fine
and was at the campground waiting for us. wheeew!

we played some pioneer games with all the kids.  the game i was in charge of was the 'ice cold chest'   the kids had to stand in a cooler of ice and water {just like the pioneers who traveled through the sweet water rivers} and i timed them to see how long they could last.  the record was 3 min. 35 seconds.
everyone else could only handle 1 min.   it's very cold.
hayes and olivia lasted 30 seconds...

and my super competitive child boston, he could only handle 35 seconds. hahaha
he wouldn't have been the greatest pioneer.

'sack races'
this was very competitive with the adults. haha

 ok and the kids too.

my kids with grandpa and grandma hansen.
my kids are so spoiled with the best grandparents!  seriously these are their "great" grandparents.
such good troopers to come and hang out in the blazing hot sun!

i love pioneer day here in utah!  another fabulous holiday in july.

"School's Out" neighborhood party...

our neighbors do an annual 'schools out' party starting right when they get out at 11!!
my little kids even wore their swimsuit under their clothes so they would be ready
right when they got home. we ate lots of hot dogs, chips etc...

i love how olivia and her cousin lucy always have to match and love to
share eachothers clothes, their kinda like sistas! haha

ivy was so so excited and played so cute on the little kids waterslides.
she really liked pouring her drinking water in the kiddie pool.

hayes was busy running amuck with his cousins carson and camden!
boston liked dunking the kids in the dunking tank.

boston was also packing and excited to go on his real overnight 'scout campout'.
they left at 4 and went up american fork canyon!
their troop made tie dyed shirts and a totally awesome handmade flag for their campout.
their leaders truly and honestly make scouting so incredible!
we love our scout leaders!

then lots of outside playing in the neighborhood.
kids everywhere!
summer has begun!! woot woot!

Camping.....a new adventure!

(a new adventure that is, with Twins!)
Cory came home on Saturday around 5 pm and decided that we were going to go camping with the kids! It was a quick pull together but we were up and set up at around 7. We went up to American Fork canyon to "granite flats" campground, it was seriously so gorgeous! The leaves are changing colors and we had a perfect little spot!
Hayes and Olivia had never been before, our idea of camping out is usually on a Houseboat in Lake Powell. They were loving every minute of it!
Boston was helping cory on the Fire duties, and Hayes was quite obsessed with FIRE, just like his Daddy and Boston!!
Olivia was busy laying on this one rock and saying "Look, i on the rock like Ariel" while she was singing......"ah ah ah"

We woke up this morning to Cory's delicious Breakfast of Eggs, Sausage and Bacon.....and S'mores ;)
It was such a fun Family Bond trip, my kids were loving every minute of it and it was well worth it!
We were home by 11 am and i got dinner in the Crock pot and we were all off to Church at 1:00! (you gotta love late church)

This is the Famous Rock that i was talking about, She was loving pretending she was Ariel!
LOOK!! I got Hayes Smiling at the Camera, we have been working on him!
Of course, we went to Tibble fork and threw rocks in the Lake, and Boston was catching bugs! (what's a camping trip with out going on a hike and throwing rocks in a lake.)

These 2 boys were mesmerized by FIRE!! Seriously i couldn't get them to stop throwing stuff in it!

And Last but not least, HE wanted me to blog this picture especially, of him Catching a Grasshopper with his own two hands! He was quite proud! Then his dad told him to eat it!
EWwwww!
