TAST 52

Take a stitch Tuesday - the stitch for week 52 is triangular feather stitch.
I did the dark purple row first and thought it didn't look quite right so I checked the instructions and I found I had done it slightly wrong. I didn't take it out as it is sewn on paper and would have left holes. I did another row in lilac with the work the other way round, then whipped the stitches in the middle and some single chain stitches on one side.
The stitching has been worked on hand painted, stamped papers. I used some of the old rolling stamps that I made.
I was at a friends house the other day and we loaded my blog up and it was very slow. I don't have a problem at home, in fact it is very quick to load, so I was wondering if anyone else is finding it slow?

Rolling Stamp 84, Fabric and Paper

My arty friends and myself set ourselves challenges and one for this month is to use/do something with a tube. I haven't made a rolling stamp for a while so I thought I would do a new one. I used it on the background paper above and on the fabric below. The fabric was used originally as a pressing cloth when I used to steam digitally printed fabrics and it had some marks on it. I have been adding paint splodges on purpose to try and make it more interesting and I used the new rolling stamp on it in two different colours. I've started to quilt and stitch on it since taking the photo and I will show you the progress in a few days. Click on the images to enlarge. There is a picture of the rolling stamp below and the marks it makes.

TAST 10

Take a Stitch Tuesday - week 10 is the simple running stitch.
The background fabric is hand painted, the dark blue rectangle is hand painted and stamped paper, the image is  from a magazine. If you look closely you will see a fancy button too. Click on image to enlarge.

My daughter came up this last weekend and she brought some flower chocolates for me. It was a shame to eat such pretty things but these two were the only ones left to photograph. There were some roses and daffodils originally too. [I didn't eat them all myself!]

Tast 6 and Transfer Printed Lace

This weeks stitch for Take a Stitch Tuesday is Chevron Stitch.
Once again my sample will be part of a fabric journal. On this page I have used some vintage fabric, painted/stamped paper, painted aida, transfer printed lace and ribbon and a metal washer. I have used cotton perle threads and stranded cotton. I don't like using stranded cotton, it always looks messy when I've finished, I think my stitching becomes more untidy the older I get! [TAST 2010]
Below are some transfer printed laces. Last time I used my transfer paints some had dried up so I thought I had better start using them more often before they are unusable. I also did some fabrics which I'll show another time.
