Lately I've been learning how to make better videos for Youtube and other hosting sites. It's so exciting to be making progress. I just learned how to add narration and copyright free music. I've also found out my mike has a buzz that is not conducive to hypnosis videos. I'll have to buy a better one I suppose. I also found out that the animations I made on Paint Shop Pro work with Windows Movie Maker so now I can put cool animations in my video.
There are two things that stump me though. How to get narration and music to play at the same time. And how to do a screen capture of things moving on my computer (like a Second Life animation) and actually get those into my video instead of trying to animate still videos. So if you are a whiz at all things technical in the video field please give me a holler. Help!

Crafting and Freedom
I am really protective of my creative time. It seems like people are always trying to derail me to follow their agendas. And I fight it tooth and nail. Consequently I may lose one of my sponsors, but at least I'll still have my artistic integrity. Money isn't everything (at least that's what people keep telling me). Hopefully I'll find other people who like my video tutorials, even if my sponsors don't. I'm really stressing way too much over this. It's just that I put so much time into them, it hurts to be asked to do other more popular items instead. There is more to crochet than snowflakes and angels. Sigh. I'm going to brush my teeth, take my sock monkey to bed, and hope I still have a sponsor tomorrow. But after she reads my e-mail, I probably won't.

Time Management and Arts
My Tweeters and Hooters shop hasn't had any new additions lately so I started working on a new owl baby tonight. This one is a medium gray. I can't wait to add the eyes.
My video 'job' has eaten up bunches of my time so I'm behind on practically everything else. So I decided to limit the videos to four hours per day, because the task really was expanding to fit the time. It's hard to make four videos a week. Especially if it's a bigger project. For example if it's a tutorial on knitting a pillow, the videotaping only takes so long, but somewhere in there I actually have to knit, stuff and sew together the entire pillow. The items don't just magically appear. Right now I'm making a knitted advent calendar, and I'm barely into making the pockets, so it will have to be a two part video.
Also, I want to have time to make videos that aren't tutorials. I want to make some VLOG videos, and some comedy stuff, and maybe a puppet show. I guess I"m going to have to live with a little less money, because life is about balance. I quickly become frustrated if every motive revolves around money. In hindsite, the tutorials don't pay much if it takes me 20 hours a week to make 4 tutorials. That's barely $5 an hour, and sometimes they take me more than 20 hours a week. The 20 hour mark is the new cap I put on it.
And if the editor doesn't like it, and I have to start over, I make even less money. It was so much simpler when I only had myself to please.

Crochet Videos Coming Up
I just pitched some ideas for a crochet site. They wrote back and said they were all great, but they have a limit of two videos per week. I didn't know they'd want them all. I'm a bit panicked. But at least they only want two a week. Why do I cringe whenever someone gives me a deadline? I'm really addicted to freedom. But my hopes to make 2 or 3 a day so I could have a real income just flew out the window. The most I could make now is $50. a week. Still, I'd rather have that then nothing, right? Hopefully I didn't just shoot myself in the foot by telling them I can only make videos between custom orders and the needs of my five Etsy shops.
