We took my grandson to the library today and it sure was a lot more fun than going alone. He made a beeline to the computers. He's about 3 years old and he knew how to open the Disney site and get to the kid's games. The library closes early on Fridays though.
Then we went to the park and he met a little Asian boy that had 3 trucks and was happy to share (sorta).
It turned into a game of catch me if you can and he just couldn't keep up with the older kid.
It was nice to have a day off. After the park we ate at Outback Steak House which was fabulous.
I decided to give the giant squid I crocheted for a Youtube tutorial to my grandson. It sat around in my Etsy shop for awhile. I thought it was time for a new home. He's sleeping with it at a motel tonight and I hope he enjoys playing with it in the car for the rest of their journey.

My Life Just Got More Interesting
After what seemed like an endless downward spiral, my life just got better.
I may get to participate in my daughter's art gallery, which she is trying to find a home for right now. I hope she gets a great space for her paintings and wedding photography. And with any luck she'll share a wall or corner with me.
I'm also planning my first photo shoot. I'm going to start using models in my Etsy shops instead of styrofoam heads.I'm giddy with excitement. I've already had about 12 models respond to my ad. I just need to figure out where and when to have the first photo shoot. It's not that easy to find wooded areas in Anaheim.
And of course I need to design and sew a whole lot more fashions if I'm going to do this fashion designer thing. Ideas that have been kicking around in my head for years are all trying to burst out of the genie bottle at the same time, leaving me a bit crazed.
And my crochet tutorials are keeping me busy right now. The new one is on crocheting a squid. I'm just waiting for the editor to approve it before I put it on video sites. I've been working on that squid for two years. I'm glad it's off my to-do list.

Squid
I was just outside working on my crocheted squid that I started over 2 years ago. It became one of those back burner projects and you know how that is. But I want to use it in a photo story series, so I need to finish it. I had no idea it would take so long to make a decopod. I just finished the seventh leg. It's just too hot outside to sit there until a breeze comes up, so I'm done with the squid for now.
And I found some royal blue yarn the squid can live without. It's the color I need for my Albuquerque Sunset wrap. And there is plenty of it left so I'll add it to the bin.I don't need to add any more colors, but it was on my list of colors I wanted to include. So why not? That's what I love about designing. You can change your mind at any time and go in another direction.

Amigurumi Books
Every time I get up to 50 followers, I lose one. It's the darndest thing. I think I've hit 50 about four time now.
I spent the better part of an hour tonight on Amazon.com trying to figure out which amigurumi knit and crochet books I wanted. I finally narrowed it down to four. Then my boyfriend said he only meant for me to pick one. So I had to leave 3 out. Maybe I'll get them eventually when money isn't so tight. I bet I could find 100 craft books I want though, if money was no object.
Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful was the one I finally decided on getting: http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Funkys-Super-Crochet-Wonderful/dp/1581809662/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268366830&sr=1-1#noop
I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
And as far as crochet goes, I worked on my squid again tonight.

Crocheting Silliness
Today I was looking for yarn and found a crocheted squid that I still hadn't finished. I'm looking forward to finishing that. But I shouldn't crochet anymore today as my hands are already fatigued. I've been crocheting another square to go with the one I made yesterday. I also know I have a faux rubber chicken that I need to finish crocheting. Making goofy things makes me happy. Life is too serious with so much doom and gloom on the news. So it's like therapy to make juggling balls or funny hats or silly clothing. It's good for me to laugh at myself because I'm way too serious most of the time.
I also want to make more puppets. They can be like little alter egos. Plus my puppet blog has been looking rather empty of late. I should make some puppets for my grandson. He's coming over next week.

Squidly
I've been working on my crocheted squid. It has so many parts it's taking a long time. Soon he'll need his own box to camp out in because his parts are covering my keyboard.

Squid
Most of today I've been working on advertising and marketing. But now it's time to get out of here and have some fun. I want to crochet a squid. Did you know squids have 8 legs and 2 tentacles? I love the quirky research that being an artist requires. I never know what I'll need to look up next.
Squid
Mostly I've been working on advertising and marketing today. But I think I want to crochet a squid. I haven't crocheted in a while and I miss it. And I really need to get off this computer, so I may drive to an eatery to crochet while I have a relaxing dinner. Did you know a squid has 8 legs and 2 tentacles? Being an artist requires constant research but its so much fun too.
