A Day By the Pool

Yesterday I took my crafts on a trip.  It was more or less a day with a little work and a lot of fun. I got to go swimming and try out my new bathing suit.  I got to work on crochet while my friend worked on knitting a shawl. We got to swap S.C.A. stories and philosphies. I needed a day out.  It was invigorating.

Angel Needle Punch

Today I started off by finishing up my angel needle punch. The border took awhile. I still need to add beads or embroidery for the eyes.

My inventory of embroidery floss is running low so I need to swing by a craft store and get some more.  I have one project waiting on dark green.

I've been taking photos of the finished ones, and adding them to products on Zazzle. That way I can make them affordable to everyone. I still want to sell the originals on Etsy or Zibbet, as soon as I figure out how to mount them so they can be hung or rested on a frame stand. It seems the needle punch is the easy part compared to getting the whole thing finished and into a form I can sell.

Fish Tales

Today I finished the needle punch part of my fish design. The background took a long time but I really like the way it came out.

I also painted the inside of my horse gourd. I need to touch up the interior a bit with some black acrylic paint, and then I can sew the sisal on the rim.

Needlepunch Fish

One of the things I found when I was cleaning was my needle punching supplies. Since the Zombie Nanner Gang daily theme was 'Fabulous Fish' I decided to make it with needlepunch. I forgot how much time that takes. I started last night; working on it till 2 AM and did maybe 3 more hours today and I'm still not done. But my hands were too tired to continue and I had a whole pile of other things to do today, so I had to get back to work. It's very colorful and I really like it so far.

Saturday is Getting Away From Me

It's already after 3 and I haven't had a chance to work on crafts yet. Our cat needed his medicine refilled and the vet wouldn't refill it without a yearly check up, so we spent the morning driving to the vet 30 miles away. Then we needed cat food so we had to stop at the pet store. I got 2 angelfish and a plecostomus while we were there.

We also swung by the farmer's market in Buena Park and got beets, tomatoes, lettuce, and asparagus. Traffic was terrible coming back by Knott's Berry Farm. I realized that this is the last weekend of their promotion where you bring $10 worth of toys for Toys for Tots and get in free. So there were long lines of families all carrying big bags of toys.

When I got home, I hooked up my old computer. My other computer needs a new motherboard so I'm going to have to live with the old and slow one for awhile. At least I don't have to borrow my bf's anymore and we can both be on line at the same time.

I just finished lunch and was about to dive into some crafts when a friend of my boyfriend's dropped over. So now they are in the living room talking and I can't even get to my crafts at the moment. But at least I can catch up on my blog posting. I thought I'd better do it now before the day got away from me.
