Mailable Monday - Squared

Hi stampers!  I've been slacking over here haven't I?  I realized today I haven't done a mailable Monday post in a while!  Shame on me!  I gotta say I'm not enjoying the new blogger interface though...why do they have to change things when they work just fine????

Anyway I really like the color challenge over at Colour Q this week!  And it was perfect for a masculine card which we all know I don't make often given my girly tendencies and obsession with pink:-)

I also took some inspiration from the shapes in the photo and went for a geometrical kind of layout.  I punched out some squares of paper and used my corner rounder on two of the corners.
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Perfect words (hostess)
Paper:  Whisper white, more mustard and dusty durango (retired) textured, neutrals DSP stack
Ink:  Basic gray
Accessories:  Square punch, corner rounder punch

This was a very fun card to put together and I think I need to make more cards with geometrical shapes!  I think I'm going to use this as a Father's Day card this year!  It's perfect for dads with the color combo and the sentiment of course!  I need to pull out my perfect words set more often before it retires soon!  Hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy stamping!

ETA:  Looks like I missed the deadline AGAIN!  Ugh!  Why does it end on Sunday if a new challenge isn't until Tuesday????  Darn it!  I'm sure this card would have been a winner too, right???  LOL!!!!

Summer Smooches - Sneak Peek

Hi stampers!  I have yet another sneak peek for you from the summer smooches suite.  This time I used the DSP and the fabric brads!  They are SO FUN!  I just love love love the bright colors!  The fabric brads are pretty big and really nice.  They are a brocade type fabric which is really nice and don't forget they are ONLY available during the pre-order in April...sadly they won't be in the new catalog come June!  So, you'll want to get yours April 1st!!!!

I was playing around the other night after I got my order (and couldn't get too much done since I had baby on the brain since I'd just gotten to cuddle my brand new hour old cousin, hehe)  and made the flower you see on this card but I didn't do anything with it.  As soon as I saw the sketch challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary, I knew I had the perfect use for it!  The sketch was really clean and simple and I thought it would work GREAT with the busy flower!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Perfect words (hostess)
Paper:  Whisper white, lucky limeade, rich razzleberry, summer smooches DSP
Ink:  Island indigo, rich razzleberry
Accessories:  Blossom punch, circle punch, polka dot embossing folder, summer smooches fabric brads

I think it turned out super cute!  I used a lucky limeade base because I thought it tied in with the fabric brad well.  I really like this sketch!  I'll have to use it again!

Happy stamping!

Inspiration

Hi stampers!  Today I have a card for you that I made for a special friend.  I believe I referred to her as the devil in a previous post because she MADE me (as in convinced me...which truthfully wasn't all that hard, lol) buy the kite set out of the Occasions Mini catalog BUT she really isn't.  She's actually pretty wonderful.  Anyway, she encouraged me to use the kites the other day when I was kind of in a stamping-slump and was complaining that I didn't have many ideas for this set.  So I made this card for her:-)
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Send me soaring, perfect words (hostess)
Paper:  Whisper white, pool party, wisteria wonder, lucky limeade, 2011-2013 in colors DSP stack
Ink:  Pool party, wisteria wonder, island indigo
Accessories:  In color polka dot brads, basic pearls, polka dot embossing folder

Isn't it cute????  You just can't go wrong with the kites or the hostess set for the sentiment!  I need to use that one more!  Those kites are just so cheery?  Each one is stamped with the solid image stamped off once and then the other image stamped full strength on top!  I took my paper snips and made some grass with the DSP too.  Looking at it now, I do wish I'd added an island indigo border around the wisteria panel to pull it all together but too late now:-)

Now, I just need to get it and what goes inside in the mail;-)  I always have trouble with that part, lol!

Happy stamping!
