Copper Leaf

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  How can it be almost mid-September already?  Ian's been in school for two weeks and I'm still not back in a good routine!  I have not been using my time well, lol!  By the time I get to the gym and then get home, cleaned up, and eat lunch, most of my free time is gone! Maybe I'll figure it out this week ;-)

Today's card combines some of my favorites!  I used the Wood Textures DSP (don't forget about it because it's "old" and in the Annual Catalog), the Falling For Leaves set, and the baubles framelits. It also stars a returning favorite, SHIMMER PAINT!  We had this some years ago and it's back and in a few new colors and it's SO PRETTY!

You can see the details here.  Isn't that doily cool?  The embossing mats make it super easy to make really neat accents.  For the leaf, I took some inspiration from the catalog and sponged the Copper Shimmer Paint onto some cardstock.  After it was dry, I stamped over it in Cajun Craze.

A few other accents and it was finished!  I really love this one and I love the combo of Cajun, Blackberry, and Copper!

Happy stamping!

A CASE Study

Hi stampers!   So you get a stamp set but have no idea what to do with it?  Yup...happens all the time!  I LOVED this stamp set even though I tried not to because I don't NEED any more stamps and we had one that looked similar previously.  Welp...you can see how that ended up lol!  Pesky thing made it onto my order somehow!

But I sat down to use Falling For Leaves before our trip home and nothing was really working for me.  A lot of times I get really frustrated when that happens and quite honestly, I usually give up.  But, sometimes I remember to take a look at the catalog and decide to copy a project.  Here, the card was a different shape but I went ahead and made it in a regular A2 size and it turned out super cute.  And this is another set that has a bundle with matching framelits but as you can see here, it makes a cute card all on it's own without the dies!

If you have your catalog handy, you'll also see that I used a different ribbon.  I didn't have the ribbon that they used but I did have another Tranquil Tide ribbon so it was an easy swap.  Remember, you don't always have to have everything to make your own pretty rendition!  Even some cardstock could have stood in here.

Next time you're stumped, don't forget to go study your catalog and find some inspiration!

Happy stamping!

Buffalo Check, Check!

Hi stampers!  I'm back with some more sneak peeks of the Holiday Catalog.  If you have ordered from me in the past year, you should have gotten one!  If you need one, let me know!

For today, the star of the show is this new background stamp, Buffalo Check.  Plaid is so in for fall and I LOVE this stamp!  I tried to resist this Falling For Leaves set because it kind of looks like a previous set, but I just couldn't.  The samples in the catalog made me buy it :-)  Does that happen to you????  It's actually a bundle and has some really cool dies that coordinate!

See that sparkly little scallop strip, I used one of the border dies in the bundle to cut it out, they are so fun!  And then new glimmer paper is fantastic!  NO shedding!  And the colors in the Holiday Catalog are gorgeous!

Happy stamping!
