Hi stampers! Happy Tuesday! And oh boy am I excited that it's Tuesday! Not only is it a new challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments but SU demos got a little sneak peek at the new catalog at 1am my time...and I had a little online party and stayed up to see what's coming! We don't get to see the catalog just yet but I'll settle for a few tid bits! Tune in tomorrow and the rest of the week as I have a big box of goodies coming next day air....and the day off work Wednesday to create! Anyway....I may be still in bed or napping as you read this....I'm too old to stay up that late anymore, lol!
So, on to the FUN challenge this week! It's time for one of my favorites....a color challenge! I love color challenges and I {heart} this one! Just lookie:
I really wanted to make a baby card with these colors but I've made quite a few of those lately...maybe because I want one...a baby that is:-) Anyway, I forced myself to do something more "out of the box" for these colors than the first thing that came to mind. I also used a couple of retiring things...my BFF stamp set Best Friends Forever (still sad it's going) and the jumbo brads which of COURSE are retiring since I just got into them recently:-)
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Button buddies, best friends forever, petite pairs
Paper: Whisper white, basic gray, regal rose, subtles DSP stack
Ink: Basic gray, regal rose, pink pirouette, pool party
Accessories: Circle punches, perfect pennants die, pool party ruffled ribbon, jumbo brads
I did the rock and roll technique with the flower although it's hard to tell. I inked it up in pink pirouette and then rolled the edges in regal rose. Makes a pretty flower! I also love layering the scalloped shapes on the perfect pennants die...I kind of forget about them but with the loss of scalloped circles 2 I think they will get more use! The larger circle pairs perfect with the large circle punch!
Now head over to HSS and see what everyone else has come up with and then play along! And check back this week for sneak peeks!!!!!
Happy stamping!

Long time no blog
Hi stampers! Sorry I've been slightly absent! I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth...I've been hanging out with my momma! :-) (And working a lot...but that's not as fun) My hubby and step-dad went hog hunting with my hubby's family so my mom came to stay with me Thursday through Sunday! And we kept pretty busy so there wasn't much blogging time let alone stamp time! I'm hoping to get some time to stamp tonight because I've got another busy weekend ahead and have been working late every other night this week. And tomorrow night is out because it's date night! Dinner and then the Hunger Games movie, I'm so excited! I speed read all three books this past weekend and loved them!
The most exciting thing we did this weekend was our first 5k on Saturday! I never was a runner until I started dating my husband (the second time around, hehe). He likes to run so I started going with him and here we are years later and I actually like (sort of I mean...as in I don't HATE it like I used to, lol) running. Four miles is about my limit both physically and mentally. Usually around four miles my right knee starts to act up (I have ITB syndrome that kicks in like clockwork) and mentally I just have no desire to run much more than that, ha! So, a 5k is perfect! I signed my mom up too since she was going to be here and she is a workout machine and walks miles and miles everyday! I didn't give it too much thought but standing at the starting line I thought I needed a goal so I decided I'd try to make under 30 minutes. That's a pretty good clip for me...I'm NOT fast! I made the first mile in under 10 minutes so I knew I was on track and it was just so exciting! There were over 600 people in the race and people were cheering you on! I made it with a time of 28:13 and I've been paying for it all week, lol! Very sore as I ran much faster than I usually do! Sadly, I probably won't run that fast on my normal runs all by myself:-) I also ran back to find my mom and keep her company while she finished. It was way better than just standing around waiting. I was SO proud when I caught sight of her jogging!!!!! We walked and jogged to the finish and she even sprinted in! Mom made it with a time of 44 minutes and some change! Not bad for an "old lady" as she said, ha! Anyway, we both want to do another one, it was so exciting! Sadly, we forgot to take any pictures! There are a few on the race's facebook page so I may have to steal them to do a scrap page!!!!
So, I hope you've kept up with me....I'll be onto the stamping now, I promise! I did this card for the Colour Q challenge this week.I THINK I still have time to enter! Well I missed it...meant to post this on Monday but didn't get around to editing my photo in time. This poor card has been sitting on my desk waiting for me to take a picture and blog it!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Button buddies, friendly phrases
Paper: Whisper white, wisteria wonder, rich razzleberry
Ink: Tempting turquoise, wisteria wonder, rich razzleberry, pool party
Accessories: Brights buttons, in color polka dot brads, baker's twine
I think it's a fun little clean and simple card! Works well with the bold colors I think. I have to work a lot this week but I'm hoping to get some stamp time in there so hopefully I'll see you soon!

Dreaming of a white Christmas...
sadly, I don't think it will happen! Hi stampers! I don't normally like snow BUT I always like when it snows on Christmas Eve and Christmas:-) Although, normally I want to wake up the day after Christmas and have it gone, hehe! It snowed last year and was so pretty but it stuck around way too long:-) But it looks like this year will be snow-free. Guess we'll have to settle for this little guy instead:
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Button buddies, teeny tiny wishes
Paper: Whisper white, bashful blue, real red
Ink: Basic black, real red, pumpkin pie markers
Accessories: Northern flurry embossing folder, neutrals buttons, baker's twine, white taffeta ribbon
I've had this little guy sitting around for a while and I guess it's the perfect time to share! Button buddies has to be one of the cutest sets ev-ah! How fun is he? I love that it works with our buttons and tons of other embellishments like brads and the shaker frames! The images are also totally cute on their own too!
Are you ready for Christmas? I'm usually set by now but I feel like I'm playing catch up this year! I think I've put off a few things since I know it's on Sunday and I'll have Saturday to do a FEW things (but I think I've put TOO much off to cram into a few hours). I finished wrapping the gifts I have (still need a few more dangit) and made tags for them tonight. Going to try to finish shopping before work tomorrow and then Saturday I need to fit my workout in AND deep clean the house all while making some cookies with our new cookies stamps and a pumpkin pie cheesecake! I think I'll try to make the cheesecake Friday night so it has time to chill but we are doing Christmas with my dad that night so we'll see how that goes:-) Why did I do this to myself???? And we don't even have kids....yeesh...what's it going to be like when we do??? I hope you're doing better than me! And I hope we can both find some time to stamp over the holidays!!!

Kapowey!
Hi stampers! I'm plugging away at some challenges today! I'm going to try to get as many cards made before I have to go teach aerobics at 1! The first one I made today is for the Ka-Pow Creative Challenge over on Carrie Gaskin's blog. I'm loving her challenges and this one was no exception! I loved the bright combo of daffodil delight, wisteria wonder, pumpkin pie and whisper white!
I made a card similar to one I swapped at convention but with a few added details. I thought these colors would look so fun with the flower from button buddies!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Button buddies, pursuit of happiness, distressed dots
Paper: Whisper white, wisteria wonder, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie
Ink: Wisteria wonder, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie
Accessories: Dotted scallop border punch, in-color polka dot brads
This time, I cut out one of the flowers and popped it up on dimensionals and I added a small punched border. I used the distressed dots background stamp on the card base as an afterthought but you can't see it very well as I didn't leave a large border. Oh well! It's a nice sunny card and a nice change of pace from all the fall and Christmas cards I've been making! Thanks again for another great challenge!

HHS #87
Hi stampers! Time for the next Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge. This week we have a color challenge for you! And boy did I find this one challenging! I had been thinking about what to do for a few days with this color combo:
I had thought of doing a masculine card since this seems like a good combo for that but I'm on a fall theme, especially since the leaves are really starting to turn here! So, I grabbed my button buddies set and came up with this:
How cute is that little pumpkin????? Add a little doodling and viola! Although I struggled I think I may take another stab at this combo with that manly card I had planned! Now, head on over and check out the rest of the design team and play along with us!
Happy stamping!

Debbie Downer
Hi stampers! I've been feeling kind of down for the past few days for a number of reasons so I haven't done much stamping. Good thing I did a lot on Saturday I guess. So, I won't be too chatty...all of my SCS friends are probably wondering what's wrong with me:-) But I have a cute card to share...
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Button buddies, pursuit of happiness
Paper: Whisper white, basic gray, calypso coral, lucky limeade
Ink: Calypso coral, basic gray
Accessories: Scallop square duo die, polka dot brads
This color combo is a little out of my comfort zone but I think I like it....and I think it's some of the colors in our berry blossom DSP which I'm not a fan of either so yay me for trying something different. I waffled back and forth over basic black and basic gray....looks like the gray won out. It was a bit softer. This flower from button buddies just NEEDS to be in funky color combos though! I also love the funky fonts in Pursuit of Happiness but you know that already, lol! And you know I love the polka dot brads. I'll be using them on a LOT of projects I would imagine since I had to buy three packs to just use the coral ones for my convention swap! Lots of blues, greens, and purples left over!!! I also hadn't used my scallop square die in a while so I pulled that out too.
Ok, back to moping around for me....maybe I'll stamp something tomorrow night....AFTER I work out that is...MUST WORK OUT!!!! If I keep telling myself that then maybe I'll actually do it, right????? :-)
