Happy Holiday Catalog Day

Hi stampers!  Happy hump day!  It is Wednesday, right?  A three day weekend always gets me!  But I'm pretty sure it is because today is the day you can order from the 2019 Holiday Catalog!

I just adore this catalog!  Even though it's almost 100 here, September always feels like fall to me!  And since it's September, I thought I better get a move on making Halloween stuff!  This catalog has the cutest Halloween goodies!  The Spooktacular Bash Bundle is just the cutest and those frames will see a lot of use outside of halloween!

When I saw the little potion bottles, I knew I had to have this bundle.  I've had these guys colored and cut out on my desk for a while now just waiting to make it onto a card.  I also thought they'd look super cute in frames, it feels kind of Harry Potter inspired!  I saw a few other stampers doing this so they beat me, hehe!

I actually colored them in with the Pigment Sprinkles.  Those colors are SO vibrant.  I used a little watercolor pallet to make my colors.  You don't need much powder at all or much water!  These are so concentrated!  IF you get too much water or color you can try to blot with a paper towel.  Just a little tip.  My splatters were done with my black marker and Basic Gray.  My sentiment is from To Every Season which is a super cute stamp set that covers a lot of holidays!  Real bang for your buck there!

Also starting today, is the DSP sale!  You can find a select list of papers in the online store that are buy three, get one free!  Of course, I'm not organized enough to have any projects done with them right now.  We can pretend it's because I'm forced out of my stamp studio but we all know that's just me :-)

It's also an exciting time around here because I'm getting cabinets installed in my stamp studio, which is why my stamp stupid is displaced. You can see some sneak peeks over on my instagram account!  I'm hoping being more organized helps me stamp more and be more creative!  This card was made in a makeshift are in my living room which I actually kind of like (lol) but it can't stay there!

Farewell Favorite Colors

Hi stampers!  Here's another card I made using retiring items.  This was the most fun card I've put together in a long time!

I'm pretty sad to see this collection of in colors go and I'm hoping I see at least a few of them back sometime!  I wouldn't be mad if we had another impromptu color change RIGHT NOW if Lemon Lime came back! HA!

I watercolored each color and let them all bleed together.  I then let it dry and came back to add some drips and splatters.  I added the smaller splatters with the markers by flicking them in their cap.  I'm not usually patient enough to do multiple layers but it's really worth it!

Some heat embossing with white powder and a few pearls finished it off!  A complicated (yet easy to do) background and a simple sentiment were perfect for each other!

Fab Friday 162

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's been a pretty busy week here.  Figures since I got some new stuff and haven't really had time to use it much.  Anyway, it's time for another challenge over at Fab Friday!  I just love these colors together!

Sadly, I do not love my card.  At all.  LOL!  Since I was so busy it was crunch time to make one and I had a couple of backgrounds that turned out so well but I got too complicated and stamped on them and didn't end up liking the end result and then just couldn't get either one to work on a card.  I finally ran out of time and this is where we ended up.  Don't judge LOL!  Sometimes you learn the hard way to leave well enough alone, right?

Gah, it's even worse posted here.  LOL!  Oh well.  I tried really hard to use a set that was retiring so I chose Another Wonderful Year and tried to do an ombre type technique with the sentiment..  Meh, lol!

Anyway, PLEASE show me all the amazing things you'll do with this combo and play along with us!

Flowering Sunset

Hi stampers!  Long time no talk, no stamp!  I just haven't been able to get it together to do anything stamp wise lately!  And truth be told, I had a headache over the weekend and was just tired so I laid around and I'm not sorry about it :-)

I experimented a little with my background here and I cannot remember how I did it. Does this surprise you?  I know I spritzed it but did I color with ink, colors pencils?  I have no idea lol!  Oh well, if you want to recreate it, just play around!  I mean that's what I did.

I just adore this stamp set.  It's so fabulous!  I'm not going to link all the supplies for this one since I can't remember exactly what I did but I put in the basics.  I want to say these colors are Grapefruit, Melon, and Grape but don't hold me to it ;-)

One In A Chameleon

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  I have something fun for you today I think!  But first, we have to talk about My Paper Pumpkin or MPP for short!  My Paper Pumpkin is our cute and fun little surprise crafting box that shows up every month.

MPP is perfect for everyone but especially beginners or people who don't have or want to invest a lot of time, money, and space but still want to make pretty things!  The boxes come with everything you need to make the projects which vary from month to month (hence the surprise).  I had actually taken a break from it for a while and I was a SAD PANDA when I saw January's box!  It was SO cute!  And so fun!  They had made the kit so it coordinated with one of our current bundles in the Annual Catalog, Animal Outing!

This is one of the cutest sets in the catalog, I think!  There is a designer series paper that coordinates, too!  Anyway, I was able to snag a box from my friend and I'm having some friends over to make the cute Valentine's tomorrow!  I'll share them next week!

But, I've made some things with the stamp set from the paper pumpkin kit and I'm in love with this one!  I did a watercolor background and I will say this one took a while.  I let all of the layers and colors dry in between so make sure you have some time if you want to re-create it!

And it's so funny that Ian just came home yesterday with a chameleon he'd made at school where they are learning about them!  He's requested lots of cards and treats (lol) for Valentine's so I'll have to include this one for him!  He really is one in a million so this is perfect! ;-)

But seriously, how cute and clever is this?  I just love it!

They have also given us a little sneak peek into this month's kit!  It's sure to be cute and they have let us know it's cards!  If you want to sign up, you can just click HERE and make sure you put me as your demonstrator.

You can also sign up for pre-paid boxes (6 and 12 months) in my store using the shop 24/7 link over to the right and earn FREE Sale A Bration items!

Color Your Season With No Line Watercoloring

Hi stampers!  Today is the day!  You can get your hands on the Blended Season Bundle and the new watercolor pencils!  The stamp set is so cute, the dies are SO great and the pencils are just pretty!

I chose to do a technique for my card today, which I don't usually do...both techniques in general (ha) or this specific one.  I actually didn't use the colored pencils just because I wanted to break out some of our new colors for fall but you totally could do this with the pencils as well.  I did no line watercoloring which seems intimidating but I promise it's not.

For this technique you just ink your stamp in a light colored ink and then watercolor right up to the line.  I used Sahara Sand because I feel like I can see it well and it blends in so you can't see it when you're done.  If you haven't tried no line watercolor, this is a great set to start with!  Get your today!!!

It's going to be fall before we know it!  EEK!  Well...maybe not here in Oklahoma, lol!
