Yesterday's Punch Technique

Hi stampers!  So I'm sharing this card again, the same one I posted yesterday.  One, because I don't have anything else prepped HAHA ;-)  And two, because I did manage to shoot a little video yesterday to show you exactly how I did it in case you're a visual learner, like me!  So here's the card:

And here's the video:

I'm really going to try hard to keep doing videos on my Youtube channel so make sure you subscribe so you don't miss my chipmunky voice ;-)

If you need the supplies for this card, it's one post back.  Happy stamping!

HSS 168

Hi stampers and happy Tuesday!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments...and time for me to go to the dentist, ack.  But, at least one of my BFF's cleans my teeth so it's not ALL bad.  I think sometimes we do more talking than anything or she talks and I nod and say "uh-huh", hehe!  I think I might need a longer time slot, lol!

Anyway, sometimes a color combo comes along that you just LOVE.  Well that happens to be this week's colors!  They are so yummy!!!!!!

I had already used cherry cobbler with gumball and baked brown sugar for Christmas colors and I was shocked to see how pretty raspberry ripple was with them!  BUT, since I'm trying to focus on fall projects I went that way and made this pretty little card:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Wonderfall, truly grateful
Paper:  Very vanilla, gumball green, raspberry ripple, baked brown sugar
Ink:  Gumball green, raspberry ripple, baked brown sugar
Accessories:  Autumn accents bigz die, woodgrain embossing folder, raspberry ripple satin stitched ribbon, baked brown sugar ruffled stretch trim, linen thread, naturals buttons

I just LOVE it!  I took my embossed panel and sponged it with baked brown sugar.  Kind of reminds me of birch wood!  And I just had a question emailed to me about how to line up the stamps with this particular die and I made a video about it last year so I'll share it again now!

Now, don't forget to check out the other design team's creations and play along with us using this great color combo!

Happy stamping!

Play on words

Hi stampers!  Ok, I'm kinda sorta proud of myself about this one, hehe!  I wouldn't say that I'm very clever sometimes (just ask my hubby....some of the stuff that comes out of my mouth is just plain dumb, lol) but this card is just genius!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Patterned occasions (SAB), wishes your way, lovely little labels
Paper:  Whisper white, sahara sand, lucky limeade, sycamore street DSP (SAB)
Ink:  Rich razzleberry, tangerine tango, island indigo
Accessories:  Paper peircing tool, scallop circle punch, circle punch, whisper white baker's twine, sycamore street ribbon & button pack (SAB)

Get it?  Blowing wishes your way and an elephant??  Hehe!!!!!  Ok, maybe I'm not that smart but the play on words made me giggle a little:-)  And I seriously love this elephant so I was excited to use him in another way than just the thanks a ton sentiment that's on the stamp.  I also omitted the little flower he holds in favor of the little heart from lovely little labels.  Lots of SAB love going on here!  Don't you just love this paper?????

Speaking of elephants I recently watched the movie Water For Elephants.  I had read the book long ago and loved it.  The movie was ok.  I'm not a fan of Rob Pat but I got over that since there was a cute little doggie, lol!  Jon worked some deal with the cable company after we had some trouble so we have some movie channels now and I'm not sure it's a good thing!  It's kind of eating into my stamp time, lol!   I love watching movies and now with the new comfy couch it's much easier to sit on my rump and stare at the TV than getting up to stamp!  Eep!!!!!  I think I've watched about everything on there that I want to though so hopefully I can stamp away!  And hopefully this silly winter storm doesn't delay the shipment I'm supposed to get today!!!!  Oh, even though the thing I wanted MOST in the order (the bottle caps I forgot to order last time) are backordered!  Grrrrrr!  Everyone must love them!!!!!

Oh, and one more thing!  I've had some questions about how I edit my photos so I've done a video of how I do that.  It's not such a big deal with what camera you use to take photos but the editing is KEY! I just use my iPhone to take my pictures honestly but the editing can make them look way more real and professional too.  I also recommend a watermark so people can't just steal your photos AND it directs them back to you and your blog or gallery when they find them on Pinterest or other sites!  Plus, edited photos are just prettier to look at, lol!  Now, I'm NOT an expert or anything so I'm sure there are better videos out there but this is a quick and dirty way to get it done!  I use GIMP and it's free and easy!  Any questions just let me know and if YOU have any tips for ME please let me know:-)  Especially how to make a permanent watermark in GIMP on a Mac!!!

Thanks for sticking with me and the chattieness today!  Ha!

Happy stamping!

Wednesday Wow!

Hi stampers!  I have a real wow project for you today....and a video!  Yay!  This card was inspired by a card in our monthly demonstrator magazine.  Stampin' Success (the mag) is just ONE of the fabulous benefits of being a demo!  They even post a couple of videos every month to go along with the magazine.  Add that to Stampin' Connection, SU's online forum for demos and you have a TON of ideas and inspiration!  There is still time to sign up and get $125 worth of product for just $99 AND the free Halloween printer's tray kit!  The kit is only available until August 31!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!  Now onto the project...which I was in LOVE with as soon as I saw it in the magazine!

This is definitely not a mailable Monday card:-)
Here is a close shot of the flower.  It's actually made with a bunch of scallop circles from the new punch in the Holiday Catalog.  And with our new silicone craft mat it could not be easier to make!  You just need 15  (1-1/4") scalloped circles, the silicon mat, a button, and a hot glue gun.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Perfectly preserved
Paper:  Very vanilla, crumb cake, rose red, orchard harvest DSP
Ink:  Crumb cake, island indigo
Accessories:  1-1/4" scalloped circle punch, naturals buttons, white gel pen, linen thread, silicon craft mat, bitty banners framelits

Seriously, it's so easy to make!  It looks like it would be a pain but it's not, let me show you!

I hope you'll try your own scalloped circle flower soon!

Happy stamping!

Artisan finalist swap

Hi stampers!  So one of my goals I set at convention last week was to post more videos.  Honestly I quit doing them because my memory card got full and I didn't want to take the time to delete pictures, lol!  Lazy!  I know!  Anyway, I'm back up and running and hope to have at least one video per week for you!

I thought my Artisan swap would be the perfect place to start!  I wanted to do a card that was both "wow" and me at the same time....and by me I mean clean and simple.  I fretted for weeks over the card but I'm really pleased with how it came out and I hope the other finalists and Shellie (OMG) liked it too!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Greetings of the season
Ink:  Midnight muse, marina mist reinker
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, midnight muse
Accessories:  Large pearls, dazzling details, white frost shimmer paint, stampin' spritzers, bigz snow flurry die

I used the new snowflake die in the Holiday catalog to create a stencil and made my own shimmer mist.  Hard to see in the photo (and sorry I couldn't get it to photograph better) but it's very subtle and shimmery!  The new stampin' spritz bottles are awesome and CHEAP!  Cheap enough to have one for every color:-)  The following video shows how I did it...and has a few oopsies in it...I hope they make you smile.  I chose not to edit my mistakes out so you can see I make just as many as anyone!  LOL!  I also added dazzling details to the smallest snowflake.  I also have to mention that I had all of these (26 of them) out on the kitchen table drying and I threatened my hubby within an inch of his life to NOT touch them!  I could just see him picking one up to tell me he liked it (he's such a good hubby...always humoring me about my projects) and totally smearing or messing them up, lol!  Poor guy...it was like he was in trouble without even doing anything;-)  Oh and sorry about the dog barking!  She barks so much I didn't even realize it while I was filming, lol!  The cats across the street LOVE to sit outside and torture her!

And finally I had a question on my post from yesterday asking if I used the new ink pads on my deer card and YES!  I have ALL the new inks and they are all I use!  The old ones are packed up and I LOVE the ink coverage of the new pads!

And if there's anything you are interested in seeing a video of please let me know:-)

Happy stamping!!!!

Simple scored = simply fabulous!

Hi stampers!  I have a new video for you today!  I've been waiting to show off the NEW SIMPLY SCORED scoring tool from SU!!!!!

Now, I never thought I needed a scoring tool (like SO many other stamp things/tools) and then I saw this GORGEOUS paper lolly wreath in the new Holiday Mini and yup, I totally needed a scoring tool....like YESTERDAY!  I don't really do a lot of scoring and fancy fold cards but NOW I just may have to start since the SS makes it so easy!

It has a ton of great features which I won't bore you with in writing since it's all in the video.  I also have a quick tutorial on how to make the paper lollies as well.  Once I get the wreath all done I'll come back and post it.  Sadly, I've been busy with work so that doesn't leave much time for lolly-making:-)

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!  You can get your very own Simply Scored by clicking the shop 24/7 button on the right.  You can also view stuff from the mini by clicking on the little mini catalog to the right!  You NEED to check it out if you haven't already!  AND if you'd like your very own copy just let me know!

Ok, I'm off to work on a challenge card and hopefully some other cards too after a LONG couple of days at work and my Gma's NINETIETH birthday party!  Happy stamping!
