Fancy Friday Blog Hop - A Color Challenge

Hi stampers!  Welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop!  We're so happy you're here!  If you're new, we are a group of friends who have been honored to be on or are currently on, the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team and we love to show you pretty things once a month!

This month's theme was a color challenge and I'm not gonna lie, I may have gone, "whoa" when I first saw it :-)  It's a lot of colors and kind of un-me.  BUT it is a challenge for that very reason I guess so I dove in!  We didn't have to use all of the colors if we didn't want to but I say go big or go home, right?  :-)

I was afraid I'd struggle to figure something out but almost immediately the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set and Eastern Medallion Thinlits came to mind thanks to the inspiration photo.  It's very boho!

The colors are Mango Melody, Powder Pink, Pacific Point, Smokey Slate, Whisper White, and Rich Razzleberry.  Whew!

I hadn't use this set in a long while but it was fun to dust it off.  It works perfectly with these colors and I can totally see this in that room!  I added just a little bit of gold in the middle.

I wasn't sure at first how to make this very Fancy Friday worthy but I think my Embossing Mats did the trick!  Instead of cutting out the middle portion of the medallion, I use the dies and mat to emboss the pattern instead and I LOVE it!  If you don't have the mat you need it and if you do, USE the thing!!!!

And here's one more tip.  Practice if you have an idea you're not sure will work out.  I actually made a couple trials of this card on just scratch paper and played around with the cutouts in the middle and which colors I wanted where.  When I found one I liked, then I recreated it for real on my good and precious cardstock ;-)

So, there it is!  This was a challenge for me for sure but I hope I made it work and I'm happy it inspired me to do something not very "me" and dig out an older stamp set!  They need love, too :-)

Now it's time to hop on over to my fancy Friend, Cindy!  You are just going to love what you see!

Happy stamping!

Fancy Friday

Hi stampers!  It's Fancy Friday Time!  We are a group of friends and both current and former Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team members who come together once a month to knock your socks off ;-)

This month's theme is all about the bundles!  Our Annual Catalog is just filled to the brim with cute bundles that coordinate seamlessly to make the cutest projects!  You can get a stamp set and either a punch or framelits for 10% off when you buy them in the bundle!  Who doesn't love cute and a discount????

I chose Animal Outing because I haven't used it enough and it's amazingly cute!

I actually kept my projects rather simple but that's because I wanted the focus to be on the awesome embossed backgrounds!  I used the framelits and our Embossing Mats to add some interest and texture.

You can check out the process here in this video!

I posted a video recently using the mats in shapes that were cut out but I wanted to make one for the backgrounds as well, where nothing is actually cut out.

For this card, I colored my giraffes using the Mango Melody Blends markers.  I think it makes the prefect giraffe color!  A few branches from the die set in Call Me Clover are the perfect finishing touch.

For my rhino card, I also colored him and his little friend with my Blends.  I think that background is so cool!  Isn't it just a fun texture?  You can see in the video how I lined them up twice.

Do you have this bundle and/or the embossing mats yet?  If not, you totally should!  Now it's time to hop on over and see my amazingly talented friend Marisa!  You're going to love what she did with her bundle!
Happy stamping!

Holiday Embossing

Hi stampers! Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had a great week!  We have been soaking up the last week of "summer" as Ian starts pre-k next week!  I mean, it's still going to be a million degrees until at least October in Oklahoma, LOL, but you know what I mean ;-)  He had his 4 year check up and is growing like a week as in over 3.25 inches in one year!  I mean I'm only 60 inches tall and he was 43.25 inches!  That's like 97the percentile lol!  He really is going to be taller than me soon!

Anyway, I have something exciting to share with you today!  And this card is just one part!  The DSP is photo-real and I love it as well as the new glimmer paper which DOES NOT shed, game changer!!!!!!  I also love those thinlits but the real star is that doily die and our embossing mats.  They are MAGIC!

Look at that cool texture!  You can cut the holes out with the die just like normal OR you can use your embossing mats and emboss them!  I bought this die set 99% for this die right here after seeing this doily on a lot of samples in the catalog.  Of course, all of the dies in the set are amazing and I'l have more to come with it.  But we have TONS of dies that you can do this with but I think I have found the most fabulous one!

Check out the video below to see!

Isn't that AMAZING??????   I did make one oopsie and said it's in the Holiday Catalog, it's not.  It's in the annual catalog.  But THAT LEAF????  It's amazing, am I right?????

Remember, it's bonus days so if you order some fun stuff now, you can get some coupons to use next month towards all of the holiday goodies!!!!  Grab an emossing mat and a few other things now, then grab all these fun dies next month at a discount!

I'm really going to try to keep my YouTube channel updated this fall!  Wish me luck!  What kinds of things would you like to see?

Happy stamping!
