Hi stampers! I'm a bit late today but a late post is better than no post, right? Mailable Monday has returned this week! I'm really afraid I don't have many mailable Christmas cards to send out so I made one last night using the color challenge from the Paper Players this week.
I also combined some new sneak peek items with my "old" stuff. It's fun to take things from the Spring seasonal catalog and use them for Christmas cards! This way I have less guilt about not making Christmas cards in favor of playing with my new toys AND less guilt about not using my new stuff because I'm making Christmas cards, ha! Anyone else suffer from neglected stamping supplies guilt???
I liked the combo in the picture of the colors plus crumb cake so that's what I went with...with a little early espresso thrown in for my deer. He's (she?) just so cute!!!!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: No peeking, border banter
Paper: Very vanilla, crumb cake, cherry cobbler, pool party, cherry cobbler and pool party core'dinations
Ink: Crumb cake, early espresso, cherry cobbler
Accessories: Finishing touches edgelits, circle punch, woodgrain and honeycomb embossing folders, dazzling details, cotton ribbon, sanding block
I wanted to use the word merry from Pennant Parade but lo and behold I've LOST it! Ack! First time ever I think! I THINK it's probably stuck in with another set but I just don't have time to look through ALL of them. Maybe I'll buy another one during SAB *sigh*. For that ONE TEENY TINY stamp! Of course about the time I do that I"ll find it, right?
But, having to improvise worked out I guess because I used the diamond pattern and merry words from border banter right on the cotton ribbon. I also paper pieced a little scarf for him and added some dazzling details. And do you see the little sneak peek I threw in? It's actually the pool party banner! It's pool party core'dinations! I supposed the honeycomb folder is also a peek but you've already seen that on my blog.
Happy stamping!

A deer reject
Hi stampers! I've got a lot of photo editing to do so bear with me....I'll have stuff to show from convention....one day, ha! I am taking Thursday and Friday off so I hope to get a lot done then AND a lot of new stamping done too! I am also going to be sharing my Artisan projects in a blog hop so be looking for that too....and you can see ALL the runner up projects!
But today I have a card for you that almost made it to convention! I decided kind of at the last minute that I wanted to change one of the cards I was doing for an organized swap and I was also working on ideas for the Artisan swap with all the finalists (I'll share that soon too) so I came up with a few cards that didn't quite make the cut! Now, this card didn't not make it because it wasn't cute...it totally is but it was way too much work to make 20-26 of, lol!!!!! I love the new paper piercing pack and mats but OY would a bunch of these taken for-ev-er!!!!! But I'm totally in love with this card and I was sad I didn't have a chance to share it earlier!!!!!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: No peeking, more merry messages
Ink: Early espresso, cherry cobbler
Paper: Very vanilla, early espresso, cherry cobbler, island indigo, lucky limeade, orchard harvest DSP
Accessories: Window frames collection framelits, finishing touches edgelits, festive piercing pack, cherry cobbler seam binding
Squeeee! Isn't it cute???? It's basically the same layout as an earlier card I used with these colors and the perfectly preserved bundle. If you're stuck for ideas just take a card you've made before and tweak it a bit! Viola! And I probably wouldn't have ever put these colors together on my own for a Christmas card but they totally work and I love how you can use the DSP for more than just the obvious. And I LOVE the new happy Christmas sentiment! That's from the new Christmas set called more merry messages! It just makes me happy!
I'll try to be back soon with my other swaps that actually made the cut to SLC:-)

No Peeking!
Hi stampers! Oh....ok, you can peek! I have a card for you today using one of my favorite new sets in the new catalog! I told myself I wouldn't buy any Christmas stamps until I'd seen the Holiday Seasonal Catalog (which I get to do Tuesday....ah the perks of being a demo....if YOU would like to get your own early sneak peeks check out the NEW LOWER PRICE and totally customizable starter kit!!!!) since I tend to order everything in the mini's, lol! BUT, then I ran into the No Peeking set and I HAD to have it! It is so stinking cute and I love the fonts as well! I love it so much that it's going to be one of the very FEW swaps I do for convention!
And a good friend of mine over on SCS was wondering if I'd stamped with it yet...and I hadn't...oh the shock, the horror!!! :-) I was short on mojo this week and pretty much everything I made looked the same (and I wasn't thrilled with many if any of the cards I made) so I sat down last night determined to one, use the No Peeking set and two, use colors other than baja, starfruit, and primrose, ha! And I finally came up with something I really liked! Yay!
Stamps: No Peeking, petite pairs
Paper: Whisper white, soft suede, riding hood red, lucky limeade, 2011-2013 in colors DSP stack
Ink: Soft suede
Accessories: Chevron embossing folder, modern label punch, basic pearls
The layout is based loosely on an older sketch from Try Stamping On Tuedays and I just LOVE the new chevron embossing folder! It's SO trendy and fun! Also, I have the new ink pads in the neutrals (regals and subtles are on backorder but should be on the way soon) and can you see how amazing that little deer is stamped in soft suede! The new pads are soooooo yummy and fabulous!
