Bookworm

Hi stampers!  Happy Hump Day!  I have a simple little card to share today using the Check You Out Stamp Set which is the one I used on World Card Making Day!  This one just uses stamps, ink, and paper again but you can set it apart just a bit with some fussy cutting!

My WCMD cards were kind of girly and I think this one is a little more masculine.  My dad recently had a small surgery so I think I'll send him this one!

You can find the supplies in my FB group.  Make sure to join if you haven't!

WCMD Part 1

Hi stampers!  Saturday was World Card Making Day!  I spent a good portion of the afternoon stamping away and I couldn't be happier!  Since having Ian, I have a hard time staying focused and stamping for long periods of time as well as coming up with ideas!  Even when he's in Daddy-Day-Care (aka sno-cones, bike riding, and video games hahahaha)!  You'll hear me yell at him to go hang out with dad in the video LOL!  The kid is with me ALLLLLLL day and only sees Jon in the evenings yet he still wants to bug me.  I mean, at the end of the day, I don't even want to hang out with ME! ;-)  Anyway, you can find the video here in my FB Group.

In the video, I just kind of thought you could hang out with me while I stamped and see a bit of my creative process!  I started out with a simple card using Stamps, Ink, and notecards and then I did a slightly stepped up version.  Props to Erica Cerwin because I cased the general idea and colors from her <3 p="">

The color is slightly off since it's so dark here in the mornings!  But how cute are these cards?  For the stepped up version, I just cut out the middle book and added a heart on dimensionals.  A couple of glitter dots finished it up, keeping it still pretty simple and mailable!

Stay tuned for something a little unexpected with this little guy (or gal).  You can sneak a peek of that if you join the group and watch the video!    That's also where you can find the supply list!

I  hope you got to stamp on WCMD and had a great one!

An Apple A Day

Hi stampers!  We're halfway to the weekend!  Will you be stamping over the weekend?  Saturday is World Card Making Day so I'm going to try to get in my stamp room!

Here's a fun fall card you could send to anyone!  I love the Harvest Hellos stamp set!  Ian had a little taste test of different varieties of apples last week and keeps talking about it.  That totally reminds me of this card, ha!  His favorite was the pink lady!

Our DPS stacks sure make cute apples!  I used the Brights Collection here with Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green (fitting, no?).

I used some post it notes and masked off the comma and the rest of this sentiment from the set and just used the Hey There.  Don't forget you can usually use your sentiment in any way you want!

I did some pattern mixing yesterday and today should we call this pattern coordinating?  Ha!  I paired the Buffalo Check Background Stamp with the gingham.  I wasn't sure it would work, but it totally does, or at least I think so.  What do you think?

In keeping with our new and improved website, the supply list can now be found on my FB group which you can get to HERE.  Make sure to click and join so you don't miss anything!

Hey There, Pumpkin

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  Technology is NOT my friend!  Anyone else?  I'm sharing a cute card today but my photo editing app wasn't working so I did the best I could, I hope I do it justice since it's JUST SO CUTE!

How fun is the pattern mixing on this card???  Don't be afraid to mix them up!  And don't forget about our Decorative Masks!  This set from the Holiday Catalog are super cute and to be honest, I forgot these simple dots were in there!  I inked them up with a sponge and made sure I went heavier with the ink in some places and lighter in the other and I LOVE it!

One of my oldest and best friends always greets me with, "Hey, Pumpkin", so this card will be on the way to her!

Fab Friday 171

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's a happy day around here as Jon comes home from being in Belgium all week!  Yay!  And followed by a long weekend!  It's also time for a new Fab Friday challenge!  We have a sketch this time!

I've had this background just waiting to be made into a card!  I'll link the video I did a few weeks ago for the masks and Pigment Sprinkles below!  It's such a fun technique!  This sketch was perfect for this background because it doesn't need much to make it stand out!  For my letters, I just stamped them and cut them out with the dies, then you can just trim off the layering parts leaving just the letters.

I stuck pretty true to the sketch and didn't need much to finish this one off!  Hope you like it!  And I hope you play along with us and check out what the rest of the team did!

Here's the video which works for any of our masks, this is just the one I chose to use!

Grape Ape

Hi stampers!  Ok so I didn't color this gorilla purple but I did use some Gorgeous Grape so it works, right?  Who remember The Great Grape Ape?  I'm not sure if I ever actually watched it but I remember seeing him.  Anyway, I guess he inspired this card here!

I love how our sets can be used beyond the original intent.  This set, Hey Love is mainly geared for Valentine's Day but I didn't get much use out of it before it was over (oops).  So, I repurposed this guy here just to say hi!

I colored him in with some Watercolor Pencils on Watercolor Paper.  Unfortunately, the second set of pencils isn't currently available but you could use ink just as easily.  Then, I did some layering.  I pulled in another Valentine item, the Be Mine Stitched Dies, for the background.  Did you know that a few of these dies don't actually cut on their own, but make a fun stitched design on your paper.  Great for backgrounds like this!  Occasionally I see people think that they have faulty dies but some of ours are meant to act like this!

Side note:  Isn't he just the cutest?  My sentiment is from the Well Said Stamp Set.  Don't forget about all the tiny words in all of your stamp sets!  They can find a home on any card!

And a tip for coloring.  I typically use my retired basic black ink to color with.  I ink in Versamark first and then into my black and heat emboss with clear powder.  I assume you could do this with Stazon as well.  People often ask if it affects my ink pad and I have never had any trouble.  I have a much easier time watercoloring when I emboss because it creates a little raised edge to hold the water and colors separate.

That's it for today!  Don't forget to use this set outside of Valentine's Day and pull other Valentine items in for everyday cards!

Missed it again

Hi stampers!  So I finally had some time not only to stamp but to do some other things like edit photos and blog tonight!  Yay!  This is a card I made sometime last week for another challenge that I missed:-)  This one was to use buttons.  I thought it would be the perfect time to ink up the flower vase image from button buddies! I just HAD to have that set and then only used it a few times!  I seem to do that a lot:-/

I had plenty of brights buttons around too from Sale-A-Bration!  Remember to order if you haven't or you want to get one more order in!  It ends in a few days...at the end of the month!   So, I paired up the bright blossoms set with the fun DSP from the summer smooches promotion...since they come together anyway:-)

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Bright blossoms, fabulous phrases
Paper:  Whisper white, summer smooches DSP
Ink:  Island indigo, real red, pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry, lucky limeade
Accessories:  Daffodil delight seam binding, brights buttons, labels collection framelits, crochet thread

Isn't that ribbon just so yummy????  It's part of the summer smooches promo that you can get on April 1.  It's from the NEW catalog that will start in June!  I want to put it on everything even if it doesn't match, ha!  I love the paper too!  It's so bright and the patterns are so fun!  I'm really liking bright colors right now!  I even bought a really bright yellow/limeish sweater at The Limited today...along with a pair of turquoise pants to go with it....yikes!  Out of my comfort zone for sure but it looked cute...I think anyway:-)  They seem to have a lot of trendy colors so maybe one or both of those will be our new in colors!!!!  Only about another month before demos find out!!!!

Time to get back to using up some more of my SAB paper and brads;-)

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - Bright Blossoms

Hi stampers!  Time to start another week!  Looks to be a nice one here with almost summer like temperatures in the 70's!  I'm ready for that, especially with baseball, softball, and soccer starting at work!  Maybe I won't freeze too bad outside this spring:-)  And speaking of summer....today you can get another sneak peek at the summer smooches suite from the new SU catalog due out in June.  You can order this suite early starting on April 1!   If you noticed the title of this post and have the catalog committed to memory (please tell me that's just not me, lol) then you'll probably be saying "I don't recognize that stamp set name."  Well, bright blossoms is the stamp set in the summer smooches suite!  It's totally fun, bright and cheery!  Just look:
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Bright blossoms, fabulous phrases
Ink:  Island indigo, lucky limeade, real red markers
Paper:  Whisper white, real red, island indigo
Accessories:  Decorative label punch, circle punch, polka dots embossing folder

The stamp set with this suite is called bright blossoms and it's really bold and fun!  You'll see that my vase is a bit muddled....my island indigo marker is REALLY juicy so I had a hard time getting the dots on the vase defined:-)  Better than a dried up marker I guess, ha!  I'll have to remember to color very lightly with it next time.  I'll try to get more sneak peeks done with this set and all the sneak peek goodies!

Happy stamping!
