Dragon with Sheep

Altered photo. 

The sheep were seen at the Rising Sun Country Park, Newcastle.

I saw the dragon holding a sign in Lucerne, Switzerland and borrowed it to keep the sheep company..

Snail House and Postcards

All digitally created. 

The snail and patterns on the postcards were created on my android tablet.

The postcards were put together on the computer. The butterflies are from the vintage Naturalist Library book.

Development of a sketchbook page

I started out with lines and blocks of colour

I drew circles in some of the boxes but didn't wait for the paint to dry, so it ran.

I used various pens to draw patterns on top, they don't show up very well.

I liked the page after I'd filled in the squares before adding the circles, but after that it just went downhill. You can't win them all.

Explosion of Colour

Two tablet doodles, the black was a pattern for my cutting machine.

Breaking in a Sketchbook

The first page of a sketchbook that I started earlier this year. This is quite a large book, about A3 size.

I used watercolours for this and just made it up as I went along. 

A Day at the Beach and Tile Pattern

The photograph was taken in Cannes. I used my tablet to paint the figure.

I painted four square patterns on my tablet using the same colours on each then transferred them to my computer and joined them together to make one repeating pattern. It didn't look that great with the colours I first used but I changed them and I think it has made all the difference.

The dog was created on my tablet and the photo was taken in a nearby wood.

Animals of the Ocean and Animals of the Land

I revamped an old drawing from one of my sketchbooks for the next Spoonflower challenge.

I started the design below for the last Spoonflower contest, Animals of the land but I didn't finish it time.

Both are late for Paint Party Friday !

Pages from Sketchbook 60

I started this sketchbook in December of last year, it's a fairly small one about 10cm x 20cm.

So for the first three pages I have drawing, painting and pattern.

3D Birds and Pink Poppy

Two 3D birds, my husband printed them and I and painted them. [design available on web].

I painted them a few times but I don't like the results but I got bored so they are now in the garden.

When I came back from my holiday I found this lovely large pink poppy in my garden.

Digital Doily's

I've been away in Nice for a week. We actually intended to go for 6 nights but ended up staying the full week because our flight was cancelled due to the strike by French air traffic controllers.

Anyway more doily type patterns painted on my tablet which were done a while ago. I shall have to get back into the swing of creative things now I'm back.

WIP - English Paper Piecing

 A few weeks ago I started a new project, English paper piecing. I'm using pentagons [5 sided shape], decagons [10 sided shape] and elongated hexagons[6 sided shape]. I was doing really well to start with but I seem to be in a slump at the moment probably because we've had some good weather and  I was doing other things.

Girl on the Rocks

The girl was a quick sketch on my tablet. The background was a photo of a rock formation which I altered in Photoshop. I think it looks more like water now.

You Have Mail

The doll was from a sketchbook [from a Russian doll project], she was put on a photograph digitally and then onto a vintage postcard, vintage stamps were added and text from another vintage postcard.

The houses were created on my android tablet then put on a vintage envelope.
