SR - New Year Challenge

I've joined in with the Sketchbook Revival Happy New Year Challenge - 5 Days

Day 2 - Rabbit and Flowers / Watercolour
Day 1 - Rounded Shape /Ink
We were given a shape to use with I copied and then did it digitally and quickly because I didn't have much time

Day 3 - Curvy Shape /Ink
I painted it with watercolours before I remembered that it was an ink challenge so I drew over the lines with ink using a bamboo pen. My original outline was drawn with a liner pen.

This is the shape we were to use.

The bamboo pen and bottle of ink.

Golden Pear Decorations

I made quite a few of these pear decorations before Christmas for gifts but I forgot to take photos of them.
I used an old faux leather jacket which I spray painted with gold paint for the front and back. On the front I used some metallic type organza, green and orange sewn on with gold threads. Gold braid was stitched on down the centre. A thicker gold thread was used to stitch front to back and also the leaf. The pear was slightly stuffed before closing up. I used the ends of the threads to add a few straggly bits at the bottom as stamens. The stalk was a small piece of faux leather rolled up. I included gold thread for hanging.

Handmade Gifts

At Christmas time I exchange handmade gifts with my arty friends. I forgot to take photos of the storage bubble pods that I made. These are the gifts I received from my friends.

This was the most unusual, a painted ice skate Christmas decoration.

Two fabric containers

I've already used them for transporting some items to a 'sew-in' and a workshop

Little Angels

I've not been blogging recently, I've not been very creative. But I have made these little angels, my Grandchildren.
I cannot take credit for the angel bodies, these I found on the web. I combined faces with the found angels, printed them on t-shirt transfer paper [two for each child, one as a mirror image], heat transferred to fabric, roughly trimmed, stitched around them stitching in a piece of ribbon for hanging, final trim.

It's Friday, so that means Friday Face Off with Nicole.

Autumn Trees

We had a lovely walk around Bolam Lake today in Northumberland, UK

This tree in the water had some interesting ridges on its bark and there was a mass of autumn leaves next to it., gorgeous colours of Autumn.

Rose

I started with a rose created on my tablet

I copied and pasted several times to make a repeating pattern using Photoshop on my computer.

I altered the rose using Filter/Stylize/Glowing Edges and got this

I made this into a repeating pattern too

Friday Catch Up 28Oct22

My entry for Friday Face Off

I drew the face on my tablet quite a while ago but I added it to this photo today.

This is a drawing my son done when he was a small boy. [t was actually blue ink but I darkened it to show up more]
I did my version of it below, I prefer the original.

Slow Loris

The slow loris is on the endangered species list. This is due to a combination of habitat loss and from hunting. Some people like to keep them as pets for which they are not suitable.
Watercolours and liner pen.

Two doodles created on my android tablet. Then combined on the PC and made into a repeating pattern for fabric or wrap.
